I am really new to digital scrapbooking. I have used Adobe photoshop for a couple of years now, but am amazed at all the papers and embellishments people are creating. I didn't know all this was possible. I have no idea where and how to begin creating these things...but really want to begin to try to understand.

Does anyone have any suggestions on books to read, classes to take, or on how to get myself up and started?

Take Lauren's class for PS elements in February. You can see the class schedule here: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/classes.shtml

You have found the right place :) We have a ton of tutorials to help you get started. Tutorials (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/tutorials.shtml)

Also, here is a review on a really good book that is all about Digital Scrapbooking (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/place/featured_ds.shtml)

and of course there are classes taught here as DSP. But most important, just post your questions and everyone will help out :).

Just start playing :)

I second the suggestion to use the DSP tutorials and Lauren's DSU 211 and 311 classes: awesome resources!

Also, since you use Photoshop the online tutorials are astounding in number. Just type "photoshop tutorial paper" into Google and you could spend all year doing tutorials.

When I learned there weren't any scrapping tutorials, I just followed the "guy-graphics" web tutorials and then used what I learned to make scrappy-looking graphics. So now you have the benefit of both types of tutorials.

And as Angie said, ASK here! Anything specific you'd like to try first?
