I finished and posted the first page tutorial for ps. I have a question--I need to make the title read 2004 instead of 2005. How can I do that. Also have been us HP Scrapbook Assistant and would like to post some pages--How do I make them a small enough size? Looking forward to the the DSU PhotoShop class in January. Barb

Hello----- I knew you could do it!!!!!
Did you save your photoshop in the original photoshop file (.psd)? If so you still have the layers and you can go and modify the text layer and change it to 2004. Click on that text layer in the layers pallet and then click on the text tool in the tool bar and click on your 2005 text and change it to 2004. If you have not saved it in the original PSD file format then this won't be very easy to change. :(
Clear as mud? Maybe some more people will jump in with a better explaination :)
I will find someone who knows the HP scrapbook assis. program to help you. I have just loaded the program and I have not yet made a layout in it.
Kim knows HP pretty well, she can help! Generally, posting on the web requires resizing the image to about 500pixels tall and 72dpi and Save As a jpg file. Check to make sure the file size is under 125kb
IF you saved your image as a psd and your text layer is still vector (meaning the little T is on the layer thumbnail), just click the text tool on the text to edit it
Congrats on completing your first layout: we wanna see!
YAY Barb!! :) Can't wait to see those pages!
To save files in HP Scrapbook Assistant to share, you will have to do a two step process.
Step One - In HP...In the Menu, File > Export Page > and save to your hard drive.
Step Two - Because there are no options to change the output of the jpg, you will have to take your save project to an image viewer or editor to reduce it a little more. Since you have done your first page in PS tutorial, I will try to walk you through resizing your project jpg in PS so you can post it.
Open the project jpg you saved from HP into your PS program. File > Save for Web > in the next dialog box, you will need to click on the image size tab > enter something like 500 into the width and hit the apply button > Click on the Save button, enter your file name and save your project layout. You should have a file less thank 125KB for posting to share with us! :)

Thanks for the help. Ended up redoing the text. Does rastering the text make the difference in being able to edit? Do you have to raster the text before applying applying a border? I'll probably ask a million :) questions.

I'll probably ask a million :) questionsAnd we'll have a million and one answers. Everyone here is so helpful! We wouldn't hang out on forums if we didn't want to be helpful, so ask away!
Rasterizing makes the text only editable with raster tools like painting and filters, etc. So you can't change the vector info like font and size 'cause there's no more vector data!
Adding an outline doesn't rasterize it: go to Layer>Layer Styles>Blending Options and choose Stroke from the bottom of the list to get a border around your text.
Have fun!
