We are OFFICiAL! We now have our own forum for our monthly Greeting Card Creations challenges. Each month I will create a new thread for the month ... it will contain the link to the GCC-SNL MegaKit and any special notices that pertain to the month's challenge.
For now, this post is just to let you all know that "We've Arrived!"
No more looking in the SNL forum, the old greeting card forums, etc ... it will be a one stop shop. AND ... get THIS ... we have OUR OWN GALLERY (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=5126) now! Let's start loading it up!!!

I have put a blinkie [do not know who made it!] in my signature which links to here.
Have now put all four of my cards in the new Gallery which Ibjiowa has arranged for us.
The last two are here. (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=219377)

I just moved all my cards over except the ones in the Club Digital gallery. How exciting to have our own gallery. I can't wait to see what others upload for the month and to get started downloading the ones in the gallery now.

With Spotty's help, I think we have the file sharing site all ready. I've added a PDF with some instructions for using that site (might help cut the learning curve a bit ... I don't know ... seems like all sites have their idiosyncrasies to the top thread in this forum (
> Challenges and Contests > Challenges (On-Going) > GCC Greeting Card Creations). It's at the bottom of the first post (where all the 'instructions and guidelines are found).
Also added quick links to the guidelines post.

BTW...did everyone know that DSP has a fantastic tutorial on creating your own blinkie in PSCS? Go check it out (http://digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/ps_blinkie_as.shtml).
Maybe some month we'll run a challenge for a digital ecard that uses this fantastic technology!!! That could be great fun! How about valentine's day??? Plenty of time for everyone to practice the tut ... ???

Blinkie wasn't me. It was Diane ditrupin. I have yet to master the art of the blinkie.

Here is my card for GCC. Autumn Card (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=219683)
I put a beige background in... should I just leave that transparent when I do the final so that the paper shows through?

I would prefer it to be left white...easier on the ink that way. Don't know how others feel though.

What is the challenge for October? I just came across this and thought it would be interesting. I can see information about downloading and such but cannot see what the challenge is.

Hi Muriel
We are making cards to share amongst ourselves. Anyone may join in and the full details are in the #1 post on this page 3 (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26988&page=3). See what you think. Just ask questions here and help will be available - we're a friendly lot!

I put my card up but maybe off base as I don't know what the challenge was.
Here is a preview:http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=220896
Someone tell me if this is alright. It is 5x7. If it is I will try and upload it.

It's me again.... I have a zip file ready to upload. Are we supposed to wait and all up load at the end of the month so we have 30 days to down load? Also what is the limit of the file to upload. Thank You.

What a beautiful card, Muriel. I love the way you have linked the S around the word.
We do have a theme based on Fall colours and we have access to a magakit supplied by SNL members, mainly for people who do not want to make their own bits and pieces. I am pleased to say that not everyone has felt obliged to go "orange"...
You can upload to the GCC Contributions October file at any time this month - some people seem to be running close to the deadline... There is a gigantic limit of 100MB. Do you have the password? If not, PM me.

I just uploaded my cards individually. I was thinking efficient not size because our connection is quick when I zipped them all into one file. They're all there ready to grab whatever you want.

Christina, you are right about efficient. I just told it to download and all five of your great cards and their inners came in smoothly while I did something else on the computer.
Thank you.
I see that a lot more people have now added files but I cannot get to them. Last time that was because I had to remove a block - now, however did that get back on?
Not to worry, I will deal with it IN THE MORNING. 11PM here...

Thanks to 27 members of SNL, we now have a new megakit to use for our November cards. It is not a set of Christmas colours; they come next month... But, hey, there is always a use for other than festive cards.
To make downloading neither too fiddly, nor too huge, I have put the files into categories such as elements or BGs and so on. We will see how this works for you - comments:yes: please.
Remember that you are not restricted to the megakit. Linda made a Nov 2007 thread (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=370284#post370284) for linking stuff.
 There are still a few cards previewed in our GCC Gallery which have not been uploaded in their full glory to the sharing site; PM me if you are having difficulties, however if your problem is shortness of time then:no: ,,,,,,,,, LOL
Cheers Jo
