My name is Mel. I am new to digital scrapbooking but not to paper scrapbooking, I have been using paper and glue sticks since about 1996. When I made my first album I had to buy a plain ol' 3 ring binder and cover it with fabric and batting! My mom and my sister are also getting into the digital side of things. We all just got PhotoShop Elements and we can't wait to give it a go!
I recently quit my career and moved back to my home state (cheaper living and more family) to stay at home with my two young boys. I used to be a computer tech and have used Adobe Photoshop a lot in the past, why I am just now bringing my computer knowledge and scrapbooking together is beyond me. I think mostly it is a fear of not being able to get my pages printed high quality for a fair price. If anyone has tips on that please let me know.
I am looking forward to playing with this new medium! I have of course snagged some freebies and read some tutorials, such great work!

Welcome to DSP Mel. Im sure you will find DSP a great source of information and inspiration in your move to digital scrapbooking -
There are many threads on Printing here - I personally print my own layouts on a fairly inexpensive home printer. ( I choose to print 8x8 layouts as I really like that size and I can print them at home on a regular format printer using a good quality photo paper.

Hi Mel - good to see you here  - I'd never done any sort of scrapping until I joined DSP in Jan of this year so I took as many DSU classes as I could to get myself up to speed, you'll find all the classes and tutorials here fantastic and of the course the tutors are the best there are :D Look under 'The Campus' heading. Looking forward to seeing your LO's.
