Does anyone else get overwelmed?
There is sooo much that you can do in digital scrapbooking that I get online and I want to do pages but then I get soooo upset because I feel overwelmed on what to start next and then is it going to be as good as everyone elses?
I want to learn so much about how to do things like ribbons etc and do my own stuff because I feel sometimes that I want the thrill of doing my own embellishments...
Also remembering where you got every embellishment etc from wow....
Ok I am rambling on now but was just wondering if anyone else feels the same way or did feel the same way and how they coped with it.
Thank you for listening:wave:

LOL - yes, I understand! It is overwhelming - but as with everything, just take it one step at a time.
As for keeping track of embellishments - I keep all kits intact and rename them to "designer name - kit name". As I work, I keep a running list of what I'm using - some do this on the computer, but I do it just on a 3x5 card.
With worrying about it not being as good as the others - well, even scrapping for a few years now, I've dealt with this quite a bit - I look through magazines and get intimidated. I look through the gallery and get intimidated. Or at least I used to - now I realize that's not intimidation, but rather inspiration. That challenges me to look at exactly what I do like and see if I can incorporate that idea in some fashion in my own layouts. I have a ton half finished right now. For example, I saw one where an element in the photo continued into the digital paper elements on the layout and I'm now looking through photos to see if I can do something similar.
Learning how to make your own elements - take classes here at DSP - an amazing amount of info on that is given in the classes. I *thought* I'd like to make my own elements, but after taking a couple of classes, realized that is NOT what I like to do. But in the same respect, taking some of the photo classes here helped me see that that IS what I want to do. :)
Just give yourself time to get yourself going in the direction you want to. I totally understand wanting to know how to do it all NOW - LOLOLOL. It'll come - quicker than you think. Just one step at a time.
Have you tried cataloging your photos and artwork collection using either Photoshop Elements or Picasa? They have great keyword and search features that are very helpful when you have a lot to organize. :)

I would just concentrate on having fun !!- If any hobby becomes stressful then it loses its appeal - you are first and foremost doing this for YOU!!-

I just want to say, yes, I think all of us get overwhelmed at times - you have great advice on organizing, and I want to second Lauren on the having fun bit - just relax and enjoy your scrapping, the love will show! The important part of scrapbooking is preserving the memories NOT doing the most artistic pages, not using the latest trends, fun as that is, enjoy creating pages your family will treasure!

Thank you to all of your advice. I am going to start having fun and just go with it. I have been thinking about putting my feelings down on the forum for such a long time and should have done it sooner...
Thanks

And hey - even this can be something to scrap! Make a layout about your feelings when you first began digi scrapping to look back on when you are a pro! :)
