I'm new here and to digital scrapbooking...i was up late the other night and saw an infomercial for my memories suite. the software looked really easy to use but i i've been looking for reviews bfore i make the purchase. i stumbled onto to this site looking for a review. The reason i liked the my memories software was because you could also have the books printed from polaroid or print it yourself, you can add video clips to pictures and save the books to cd's to give as gifts, plus it just looked easy to use. I'm just worried because i can't find a review of the software.

any help would be appreciated or guidance on other helpful software.

Hope you decide to stick around -- this is the best digi-scrapping site on the web. And this is its 5th birthday. You will really learn everything you need to know here -- such a warm and friendly community. Welcome!

Is it compatible with the kits we already have? Can we use our .png and .jpg files, or are we limited to the designs that come with the software?

Alternatively, can we use MMS kits in our other programs?

yes, you can use any of your kits or files. just import like you would in any other software.

you can, you'd just have to dig through the program files to find them, but they're available.

Margie, is any kind of trial version available? This sounds so interesting but the one time I tried something sort of like this I started feeling hemmed in. This is obviously much more sophisticated and flexible than the little app I tried when I first started digi-scrapping but it would be nice to see it in action.

Hi, new question :) .. has anyone printed from this program on their own printer, and, can you set the dpi and size and stuff yourself, or does the program decide for you what you want to print at???

There is no trial available currently but you can see it in action in two videos here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/../place/mms.shtml).

i've printed lots and they look great! the graphics included are at 300, but you can bring in any resolution. if you export to jpg, you can save at many diff sizes also.

What size does the screen display need to be in order to install My Memories Suite? Their main website doesn't say & I'd like to know before I order.
thanks, Rhoda

Rhoda, I found this in their system requirements:

Monitor Resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher (1152 x 864 or higher recommended)

Is this what you were looking for?

This is a great program, I really enjoyed using it!

OOPS, I'm sorry to reply so late but I didn't know my question had been answered. I bought an Acer netbook and was looking for a program to install for scrapping. The netbook is really small & fits in my purse so I thought it would be a cool way to do some fast scrapping away from home.:)
My screen resolution can't be changed or I can't seem to make it change.:( It's set at 1024 x 600 & won't budge.
I tried to install MemoryMixer & it won't accept the settings either. I was able to install trial versions of ACDSee photo editor & ScrapbookMax though. I was surprised when the ACDSee Editor would install & MemoryMixer wouldn't:confused:
Thanks, Rhoda

Rhoda, how are you coming along with Photo Editor?
If you go to my blog (http://faerywings.wordpress.com/) I have some tutorials on scrapping with PE. You also can go to digiscrapinfo for some more tuts for PE. Hope you are having fun with it!

I bought Photo Editor last fall mainly because it's so easy to use psd templates:D! I was really tempted to buy it again for my netbook so I could scrap on the go. My trouble is that I haven't used PE since last fall & I forgot how to use the templates! I'm out of practice:(. My summer break started last week & I hope to get some scrapping done.
BTW, I went to the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, TX this past weekend & I met Amanda! I went to her My Memories Suite class. By attending the class everyone received a copy of the program installation cd, minus all the graphic cds.
I'm glad I went to the class & got the tips & pointers using the program. I knew that it was designed by Story Rock just like MemoryMixers & the two programs seem almost identical with the basic stuff. I have the new upgraded version MM3 so I need to make comparisons to see if they are exactly the same. I really don't need to buy the same software twice.:worried:

Rhoda- Here is a link to a video tutorial on using Templates in PE:
Using Templates in ACDSee Photo Editor 2008 (http://www.digiscrapinfo.com/joomla/acdsee-photo-editor/tutorials/234-using-templates-in-acdsee-photo-editor-2008)
Once you get back doing it again, you'll love how easy it is! :D

Thanks for the link! That's the one I had used before:)! I really enjoyed the Memories workshop that Amanda presented & she gave a thumbs up to the Epson wide format printer for printing. Well, yesterday I caved & ordered one too.:yippee: I'm so excited about getting one so I can have instant printing on my 12x12 layouts!
I've been reorganizing my hobby room so I'll have a place to set it up:). When I get my printer all set up then I want to do some hybrid projects for the walls.
