We will NOT have Heritage chat next week 21st as it is American Thanksgiving and they will all be too busy cooking/cleaning/celebrating, so you have TWO WEEKS to get the next challenge ready, which is Doors and/or windows - you can interpret this any way you would like eg a photo of your front door - what does the door to your home suggest to you? a very interesting topic suggested by FulltimeRVer. I look forward to seeing your pages. Post pages in the Heritage Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=847.html) and a link in the thread you will find in the Heritage Forum (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=537)

A very, very happy Thanksgiving to all of you who will be celebrating :)

:o :o :o :doh:Now, please can someone remind me - we chose a topic to follow this one and I cannot, for the life of me remember what it was??? :o  :o :o

I'm doing some behind the sceens work for Lisa Wingate again. Please let me know if I have this in the correct forum and gallery.

I told Lisa about the topic and she replied, "That forum sounds perfect for our "doors" picture!"

She's quite busy with her thanksgiving plans so I told her I'd get it posted. Again, Please let me know if I'm in the right spot. The story that she has to share is great.

When we bought our place, it was a forlorn-looking little house in a field. The previous owners had built the place, then turned it over in bankruptcy, so by the time we moved to town, the house was surrounded by overgrown grass and leftover construction materials. We drove past the place numerous times, thinking, 'Well, who would want that house stuck out there in the field?' We jokingly called it 'The little house on he prairie'. After scouring the local real estate market and coming up empty, we finally decided to look at the place. From the road, it may have looked forlorn, but the minute we stood in the living room and looked at the view from the side porch (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=224217), we fell in love. We bought the house the very next week. The day we moved in, we watched the moon rise from the porch, and the next morning we were treated to a beautiful sunrise outside the living room doors.

Oftentimes true love is just a matter of taking time to look beneath the surface!

Lisa

Lisa, you might want to reupload your LO sometime before the next chat on the 28th. At the moment it is showing up amongst last weeks LOs and will be more or less lost to the voting if people can't see it with the other 'doors/windows' LOs next week.

Holy Toots! I can not believe I was the winner from last night. Thank you all so much! I was so tired last night that I found myself dozing on the couch just minutes before the chat. I knew there were some fabulous layouts and figured I didn't stand a chance. I also couldn't decide which one of those other layouts I liked the best so I chose to go to bed. Wow, I should have stayed awake.

My front door has a glass oval in the middle that is this very neat leaded glass panel sandwiched in between two panes of regular glass for easy clean up and also to be weather tight. When the sun shines in that door in the afternoon, it creates a stunning display all over the front hall. I love that door.

Like the rest of the house, the door is not quite finished. It still needs it's gel coat. It is a fiberglass door that is milled to look like wood. The gel coat will be it's "Stain". Maybe one day, when it's done, I'll get a picture of just my front door.

Thanks again everyone. What a great way to start my day!
