Is there a secret to using my Wacom Graphire to write in cursive? I know it takes lots of practice (which I admittedly haven't done :o ) but it's frustrating to have the pen slip on the hard surface.

I tried putting a piece of paper on the tablet, which helped a little, but the writing was still "trembly." Wondering if something like tissue paper, onionskin paper, or ???? would help? Anything else that would give more traction?

Practice helped me get better. I also zoom in as much as I can, that seems to help.

on your layout, try adding an extra layer, with lines (like a grade school practice sheet), so your pen has something to "follow"... my first attempts (without the lines) were really wobbly! "Practise makes perfect"
Good luck.

Wobblyness may continue to be a problem with the Graphire.

To counteract it, start with WAY LARGER writing than you need, blur it ever so slightlyn then shrink it to size, and sharpen as needed. That'll minimize the wobbly to the naked eye.

Use a really light touch, too, if you think it's simply a traction problem. If the brush on the layout looks too transparent, you can always duplicate it into opaqueness :)

It took me 10 minutes to get the hang of writing with my tablet, but it's an Intuos model.

you can also change the sensitivity of the stylus to get less wobbling. For writing, or for browsing and navigating windows, having it be less sensitive is what you want. Under TIP FEEL click DETAILS and set the top to FIRM and the bottom to LOW. This requires more purposeful contact with the tablet for the stylus to register a click. Change it back for drawing.
