I seem to have scrappers block even before it comes time to scrap. I don't seem to have much inspiration to take pictures. It may be that I'm just not looking at it from the right perspective. I'm married, but only in my 20's and have no kids. I have cats, but they're not exactly poseable. I do see my friends and family very often, and when I do (even for holidays), I only come away with a few pictures.

Scrapbooking starts with photos, and I seem to really need some help in that department. :D

Scrapbooking doesn't have to start with photos. Why not pick a memory that you want to keep and write some journalling about it. Then, find some photos that work with the journalling (don't have to be taken at the same time). And if you can't find some, try making a page without photos (or go an take some that might work with the journalling that you have done). Scrapping "photos" can be hard, scrapping a memory is usually a lot easier!

How about picking something else to "focus" on? What interests do you have? What things do you like? Benches in the park, chairs, stadium seats. Coffee cups, mugs, stirrer sticks. Pencils, pens, markers. Take pictures of them and then scrap them. Scrap about YOU. You have a past, right? Take it from me, you will forget it as time progresses. Those people I thought I would never forget from high school are now just a fading memory. You have the gift of recent time to use to your benefit to scrap those days.

Inspiration ... what inspires you? That can be your starting point. I started but haven't finished an album about words in my life .. you can even do something like that. Check it out here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=4786).

I hope this helps.

i didn't take many photos when i was first married either. and i sure wish i had! i thought i'd rather just have fun and enjoy the moment, but we sure when to a lot of neat places that i can hardly remember! and won't probably go back to now that we have 3 kids. : ) of course it might be fun to go back and scrap any photos you have of you when you were younger too!

Hey, I have a great idea to get you out and taking photos! Join the PAD (photo a day) gang here at DSP! All you need to do is take and post a photo a day! Browse thru the gallery here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=2387) and you can see what we take pictures of: flowers, scenery, pets, kids, anything that catches our eye. I've found that it makes me look at the world differently, like everything is a potential photo. And at the end of a month, I have tons of photos, not all great, but at least there are plenty to pick thru for scrapbooking ideas!! You don't have to wait for the beginning of the month to start, and we offer lots of support and CC if you want it!

one thing I notice about single scrappers, those w/o kids, etc, is that you're all busy too! Take photos of what you do and where you go and who you see. You can also write down memories and then either scrap w/o a photo or take one to "match". Like a day at the park with Dad as a kid, take a photo of a park bench or swing to go on the text layout.

Another thing is to do the First Page tutorial with photos you already have. Use the junky ones to get started for practice if you don't want to break out the special ones just yet (yeah, I know we can redo the layout later when we improve, but who actually does that?!) do the tutorial a couple of times, and use different photos each time.
And when looking through the gallery, don't get stuck on kid and baby photos, see how many OTHER types of pics are in there!

Try making a book of Me, or Book of He, or Book of We, do your wedding album, a vacation album, holidays, bday parties, etc. Just grab a photo and make a page, you'll catch the fire soon!
