I am having problems resizing one particular Photoshop file so I can upload it, and I don't understand why. I went to the tutorials to try to reread the instructions, but the link is broken. :(

The *.psd file is about 55,000 kb. I have others that are as large where I have flattened the image, set the resolution to 72 and the pixel height to 450, and have saved as a *.jpg file at a resolution level of about 9. With this file, it just won't cooperate and if I lower the resolution level to get it down to <125 kb, the picture I upload is too blurry. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I run into this occasionally as well. Certain layouts just seem to push jpgs to the limit.

Two things you might try. One is to change the size and then run Filter>Sharpen on it. The other would be to make the file 425 or even 400 pixels high.

Are you using File> Save As or File>Save For Web? You might be able to fine-tune the settings using the Save for Web option.

I will try the save for web - that's a good idea! Thank you!

I just tried the link and it worked fine. Can you tell me which one was broken? Did you JUST try it or was it a few days ago? If it was a few days ago, I'm sorry! I was redoing the whole tutorial section and things got messed up.

Personally, I've never run into this, and I'm curious if it's because I always use the Save for Web feature...??? Don't know, but perhaps that will make the difference for you. Let us know how it turns out!

Okay, haven't retried the link, but did the Save for Web and if worked just fine! I will try the link again.
