Year In Review Album

I have done a year in review album every year since I started digi scrapping in 2004. It is such a way to get that "caught up" feeling. Now with the end of the year approaching, I am putting my mind to my 2007 album. Anyone want to join me?

My philosophy for this album is to keep it simple. Each year I have used a specific layout and just repeated it for every month, not even changing the colours! It makes for a quick album where you can put your time into finding the photos and writing the journalling you want to include. I normally keep my journalling short - for a couple of years I just did bullet points. These are great albums to look back on and very cool to share with family (12 pages being a bit more manageable than 100s of layouts!). My in-laws loved flicking through the last three years on their last visit (they live overseas).

Make it quick and easy that is my motto. And my family didn't care that the pages all looked the same - they just loved looking at the photos and reading the journalling :)

Sharon...do you print up an album for each year? And if so, that would mean they are only 12 pages thick? Or do you do a couple years in one album? just curious!!

I have an 8x8 album that has the last three years pages in it - I plan to add this one to that. It is quite neat being able to flick through several years worth of photos and see how things have changed.

Ok I AM going to do this..! I have a couple of pages from the year before last that I did last year but thats as far as I got! lol! I might not get much done till we are home but I AM going to do one for 2007. I have a feeling I might have to work backwards and start with Dec as all those photos are with me. I love the idea of keeping it simple and each page the same template, surely even I can get it done if I do that?! :)

I saw this challenge and I had to try it. I used Rene's FABULOUS What a year instant album sets for this one. I decided to do one each for my daughters I have started Suzie's and have decided to handwrite the journaling so the layouts I have posted have no journaling.

I'm getting there! April through Dec done...I just put my hard drive back in my desk top and was able to access 2003 to 4/2007 photos! Hooray!!!!!!

now I need to back them up so I don't go through the heartache again of almost losing them!!
