*note: This challenge will start on Friday, January 4th and run until Thursday, January 10th. You may keep a list of all your layouts in one post for yourself however it would be helpful for sending out bonuses if you also make a quick comment and note the day it is for. eg: Here is my LO for Day 2: link to layout

THE CHALLENGE: Happy New Year everyone! We all just came through a busy time of the year so I thought we could start off the New Year with a simple and quick challenge. I love using quick clicks, they save the time of having to think about the design of the page and you can still have the creative enjoyment of embellishing your layout. This is a simple way to get lots of scrapping done quickly.

The Quickie-a-Day challenge is to use a quickclick every day for a week. Do one every day or any day. It is up to you how many days you participate. For each day you post a quick click layout you will receive a posting bonus of another quick click up to 6! On the last day of the challenge you have a chance to win a DSP quick click as well.

KITS: Use any kits, (preferably DSP kits) to fill in your quick click. You may use any quick click or similar template. The DSP designers have dozens to choose from in the store or the Freebie gallery. SNL members and other groups on DSP also share templates you may use. Please provide proper credit and use keywords where available. GALLERY: Odds n Ends Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3365) You may double up for other challenges and post in other galleries but post here when possible. You MUST POST A LINK to your LO in this thread to be counted in the draw for prizes and to earn the bonus. NOTE: Only new LOs will be eligible for the draw.

Suggestion: If you use a quick click and only elements by Tina Chambers this would be a great way to get layouts done for the Featured Designer Challenge: Tina Chambers (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28683) and earn another bonus for that challenge too!

DEADLINES: This challenge will run one week beginning Friday, January 4, 2008. You have until Thursday, January 10th midnight EST to post your layouts. You must have your layout uploaded by midnight EST on the day of the week for each quick click offered as a bonus. For example if you want to earn the Fred quick click you would need to have a layout in the gallery on Saturday, January 5, 2008. The list of bonuses and dates is below.

PRIZES:On the last day of the challenge, Thursday, Jan 10th, there will also be a random draw for a 1.99 DSP gift certificate to purchase a quick click from the DSP store. All layouts will be entered in the draw.

UPDATE! There have been so many of you taking part in this challenge so I will do a draw for 3 gift certificates instead of one. :)

POSTING BONUSES: You could receive up to a bonus a day! This challenge runs for one week. Cynthia (aka dapupsmom) has generously donated several fabulous templates and you could earn up to 6 quickclicks, one a day, for 6 days. On the last day of the challenge there will be a draw for a DSP store coupon for $1.99 to choose one of the great quick clicks by the DSP designers. Everyone that enters a layout will be in the draw. The more times you enter the more chances to win plus you could earn up to 6 free quickclicks!

Just a note to everyone playing. You do not need to put all your layouts in one post unless you want to for your yourself. I plan to send out the bonuses daily so it would actually be helpful for me to I get the email notice about a new post so I don't miss any as the days go by.

Perhaps if you want to keep a list you could also make a quick comment just to say you have added a layout. However I will try not to miss anyone and I will let you know when they have been sent so you can give me a shout if I miss you. I want everyone to get their bonus as soon as possible so you could use them for this challenge as well if you wanted.

How do you call it something else in the message instead of the http:www.......? TY!

emandlivsmom if you click the 'Go Advanced' tab (bottom of comment box) it is simple to add a 'pretty link' It will bring up an editing box where you can easily format. There are editing icons along the top, the one for adding a hyperlink looks like a little blue globe (hover mouse over icons to see what they are for)

In advanced options, type the name of your Layout then highlight it. Then click the blue globe. That will give you a popup where you paste the address for your LO. It will automatically format your text to be a clickable, pretty link.

Here is the code you can replace the coloured bits with your own info if you want to past directly to coment box without going to the advanced options. NO SPACE AFTER URL

sorry I didn't back to you sooner poohbear, we were out for dinner and and I madly raced to chat to play bingo. :) Yes you may rearrange, leave off layers, rotate, mirror etc. I hardly ever use a quickclick exactly as it comes. It is just like altering and recolouring kits.

emandlivsmom if you click the 'Go Advanced' tab (bottom of comment box) it is simple to add a 'pretty link' It will bring up an editing box where you can easily format. There are editing icons along the top, the one for adding a hyperlink looks like a little blue globe (hover mouse over icons to see what they are for)

In advanced options, type the name of your Layout then highlight it. Then click the blue globe. That will give you a popup where you paste the address for your LO. It will automatically format your text to be a clickable, pretty link.

Here is the code you can replace the coloured bits with your own info if you want to past directly to coment box without going to the advanced options. NO SPACE AFTER URL

Ethyl I haven't had time to actually use the quickclick myself yet and I use PSP so I am not sure what the problem is. Maybe you could send a PM to dapupsmom and ask her if she made it differently than the ones you are used to. Occasionally I have had a quick click that centers the layers when pasted and then I just move them into position myself. I will have to put that one together and try it.

Hi Ethyl! I'm not familiar with PSCS2. The QC was created in PSPX. Not sure if this would make the difference or not. Just guessing how your software works...can you select the entire png file and then paste as a layer in the new document? If so, that should eliminate your problem. Another option possibly is if you can open the stacked file in your program. With PSP, I'm able to open Photoshop documents. I just don't have full Photoshop options available to me.
Please let me know if this works for you or not. Hopefully another site member may be able assist further with this problem.

I'm having trouble using yesterday's posting bonus...whenever I paste a layer into the new document, it centers the layer, rather than placing it where it should be.

I've never had this problem before....using PSCS2...maybe I've messed up a setting? Although, I seem to be able to use my other QCs...

Any thoughts from anyone?

Mine does that too on these QCs, so I don't think it's your settings. I'm using PSE5. I just moved the shapes around so it looks like the picture that came with it. :)

I had the same problem so what I do is use the brush tool in pencil mode and make a very small dot in opposite corners of each layer of the template before stacking them, and then they go into the correct place. I have had this happen on a few of the earlier quick clicks from the store as well.

That is exactly right Helene. When I make a quick click I use a tiny one pixel brush size on lowest opacity for the dot. Occasionally the "placeholders" are missing and in programs like PSP all layers are centered. The dots make the program treat the entire thing as one shape. I have found a few doing that from the store too. Cynthia is doing a fix for the next 3 days. For now I would just move the layer following the preview.

Hi ladies! Thank you for your response to the QC's. If you have any problem with them, please do not hesitate to let me know, and I'll see what I can do to help. All the QC's have not been adjusted to add the placeholders on the layers. This should eliminate the problem some of you have experienced. Mars and athe wonderful ladies at SNL came up with the solution to that!
I would love for the QC's to be as user friendly as possible. That's one reason we love them so much - fast and easy. I user PSPX and am able to include a stacked layout for the PSP users. Would love to include a stacked version for those that use PSCS. I'm working on that as we speak, and hopefully, future QC's will include that feature.
