This week we are going to work on Folding Ribbons

USING MASKS

What you need: an open mind and a piece of digital paper to play with

This chat will focus on using Masks in Photoshop. This is NOT a completely in-depth learning chat but will help you get started.


PUTTING PIN THROUGH PAPER
Date: Jan 17, 2008

What you need: a "pin" and a scrap of paper (digital of course)

As requested we will learn how to put a pin through our paper. Learning to use shading to add emphasis.


MAKING A STICKER
Date: Jan 24, 2008

This week i am going to teach you how to make a basic sticker (this is great for if you want to use that wonderful wordart you have on a sticker instead of just put onto the background)

This is the 5th Thursday in the month so we won't have a video tutorial. Actually I will not be able to make this chat because my husband and I are leaving for the airport about this time so I WILL MISS you all but i will see you next week!!

Lisa, I love your tutorials. Such a great way to learn and expand our skills. At the moment it seems like the tutorials on your blog are one at a time. Any plans to archive them or make them available longer term?

I am hoping to do that i just have to get more space to do so
the space i have runs out before the end of the month even doing just one tutorial so when i can upgrade i will work more on my blog to expand it

Lisa - Just wanted to let you know that I watched both of the tutorials for the chats that I missed. AWESOME and very informative!! My system bogs down towards the end (which I am sure is my lack of RAM) but I can still get the gist of the lesson. AND I learned that the little gidgy in the center of an element is the rotate point. I keep moving it accidentally but never knew what it was for. LOL.

I hope you get more space soon I really need to watch that Folding Ribbons one more time so I'll be pop-ing in from time to time to see if you get it fixed so we can see them more than one week at a time.

Oh Lisa - I just watched the Layer Mask Tutorial and it was wonderful!!! I was able to watch this one all the way through without any halting and showing me where to click was great!! Can't wait to see the remaining for the month.

If it fits your schedule, it would be wonderful to have the tutorial available to watch BEFORE the chat in case we have questions that could be answered during the chat....

Hi Lisa - I was just out trying to see if the new tutorial had been posted yet. Instead of the "picture" of the player with the title of the video there are just words (a link). If I click on that it opens a pop up that wants a username and password. I clicked on cancel and I received a Authorization Required message. Do we need to access the tutorials differently now? TY -c-

I was so disappointed when I had to miss the chat because of work! I really wanted to learn how to do the pin. I was even more disappointed when I tried to view the tutorial and found out it was password protected now. :cry: Will you do this one again sometime, Lisa? I really want to learn to do this! :love2:

Here's a LO I've done using the fabulous tutorial by Lisa on how to put a pin in paper and make it look realistic. I had to modify it a bit because the pin goes through different layers but I think it has worked OK, let me know if you think it looks OK if you get chance to look please.
