I am so NERVOUS right now. I am (or I guess I did) start up a small home business offering layouts and photo editing. This weekend I have my first event. I am going to a weekend long scrap event where I will be offering up my services. I will be doing photo editing there for them and also offering them template/customlayouts. The only thing is this is a scrapbook event so they are all paper scrapbookers and just as talented. So I guess I just feel that one, they are going to wonder why I am even offering selling layouts because I mean - I like them and other people like them but would people actually be willing to pay for them? and the other thing is I am worried about how some of them are going to react to this "digital scrapbooking". Some of you might remember a thread over at two peas where there were alot of people talking bad about digital scrapbooking.

I guess I am just really really nervous, I don't feel ready. I want to have so many more layouts done for them to see, but I just don't :(

OH...good luck! Congrats! and I know you'll be great. and if they wonder what digital scrapping is...send them over to us and tell them about the Digital Scrapping 101 class.

Oh good luck too you!!! You will be just fine, even with the nerves going haywire.

I don't know what to say about what paper scrappers are going to think or say, but to be honest, you have no control over what they 'think'. Try not to worry about it. I say this, thinking, I would be so nervous I don't know if I could do it....LOL.

Now, if someone says something nasty too you, then politely deal with them..you know...be nice and sweet, but what you are really saying is shut up and leave me alone....rofl :p

It will be okay, and do tell us what happens!!!!!

Kristin! You'll do great! I'm a digital scrapper and I have faith you will represent digital scrappers just wondefully! You might be able to point out that ANYONE who uses a computer in some fashion in connection with SB (like printing journaling) is dabbling in digital SB....it's just a difference in degree. Also, if anyone gets indignant, a good thing to gently remind them about is that SB is about preserving memories, and isn't that what's REALLY important? WHo says 1 way is better than the other? When I see a page, it triggers a memory whether that page is on a monitor or on paper.

I think you'll win them over with your talent and dedication, and when you point out all the positives: saving time for preserving MORE memories, the ability to re-use elements and pics, no myriad packages of little supplies to buy and store, being able to meet and befriend thousands of peers on the computer with similar interests..etc....

Anyway, take a deep breath and remember you ENJOY THIS! You'll do great!

I will most DEFINATELY be pointing them out to the sites. I love it when I hear that people want to give digital scrapbooking a try. I think more than anything if I get people curious about it, this will all be worth it in the end :)

You'll be GREAT! Every time I've been at a crop, paper scrappers hover around to see the digital work. They find it fascinating. I remember the 2 peas "incident" too but that's just a few goofballs. This is the digital age and people are really interested!

I've started a business also and have moments of doubt but this is the time for this technology! You go girl!!!

You will do great!!!Your skills are amazing and once they see what you can do..I am sure a lot of people will see digital scrapping differently..

I love when I do craft fairs and paper scrappers come to my table and are in awww of what you can do on the computer....its a great feeling!

Everyone is allowed to feel or think what they want...so you cannot change everyones mind...not everyone is openminded to new things other...you cannot stress over that! Just go have fun and show em what digital scrappers are made of!!!!!!!! :-)

Kristin I know you will do just fine !!!!!!!!!!I felt the same way before i started selling my elements - I mean would people actually PAY for my work - I found it hard to believe - I still find it hard to believe - but wow they do and they surely will for you too - This craft is so much still in ints infancy - you are doing the right thing getting in on the ground floor - and you have talent oooooooooooooozing from every pore!!!! :D

Quick Update - My computer died about 2 hours in. Motheboard is gone and won't be replaced until at least Tuesday. I am borrowing my husband's parents for the rest of the show but I am still rather bummed about it.

People are taking a bit of interest but its still hard to say as it was just the first night and I wasn't there too long.

A bit bummed though to say the least :(
