When Monster Truck Jam comes to town. I don't care for this event and will never attend but my DH and DS go every year. They leave the house just before lunch and don't come home until after midnight. The day Monster Truck Jam comes to town is the day I get to do what ever I want. Last year I watched sappy movies all day. I haven't decided what I will do this year. (I tell them I can't go because I have to work on taxes.)

That being said however, this weekend DH and both DD's are going to a juggling convention so they will be leaving late Friday and not getting home until later on Sunday. I can't remember the last time I had the whole house entirely to myself for more than an hour. :yahoo:
My problem now is which couple of projects to choose out of the hundreds I'd like to get done. I'll probably just end up sleeping until noon on Saturday then watching cheesy movies on TV the rest of the time. Ooo! maybe I can finally watch all 14 DVD's of Monty Python's Flying Circus that I have. :tup:

Fridays during lent make me happy. I usually decide around this time in the morning that I am NOT going to work today. It's lent after all, I need to give up something. So I fool around either writing a story or coming up with some thing for scrapbooking until lunch. Then I head up to the church so that I can help set up for the Fish Fry tonight. In all actuallity, I just love hangin' out with the St John Grannies who are also setting up. I also live for the onion rings that get made up just for us as soon as the fryers warm up. The live version of Grannies is always a treasure to behold and the onion rings are awesome!

I spend the next couple of hours after lunch the same way I did the morning until the school bus comes. Then I grab WoodsySven's fish fry apron, my apron and my son and we go down to the corner to help out with the fish fry.

My Sven is usually already there somewhere and I walk into a barage of HI's, Hello's and 'bout time you decided to get here. It's a great feeling.

The fish fry flies by as I serve coffee to a boat load of familar faces. Two old guys who always ask for a couple of beers and end up with coffee, Residents from an adult group home who always have smiles on their faces and always seem so darn glad to see me even though I am told they don't remember me from last week, kids from my catechism classes throughout the years, my son's teacher and her entire family, and so many more are all part of the mix that make it such a grand place.

My son, at barely 50 pounds, busses tables all night long and my husband hangs out with the fish. We all stink when we come home but we are all in a such a great mood.

That's what makes me happy.

Kathleen said that this lens--Canon 50mm 1.8 --is called the plastic fantastic because it's got a reputation for being a super lens, and cheap and cheaply made. Under $100. I thought the name was funny and it stuck!
