Whenever I see screenshots, they seem to be pretty large and clear. However, when I do them, they are not.

Can someone tell me how to do a nice, clear screenshot that I can attach to one of my posts? I need help on a layout and I need to attach a screen shot to explain my problem. I'm working in PSCS (I am a newbie so I need really s*i*m*p*l*e explanations! :) )

I know that I hit CTRL+PRINT SCR and then I'm supposed to paste it somewhere. Where? I have the layout I'm working on in my workspace. So, where would I paste my screen shot? And after I paste it somewhere, then what do I do?

But how does it let me get a good, clear screenshot to attach in these forums?

Just print screen will copy your whole monitor. Then in PS choose New, and it'll have Clipboard in the size title, click OK

Then Ctrl-V to paste your screen into the new document. Then crop what you need, save for web and either upload to gallery if needed, or attach to the message.

You can paste the screen shot almost anywhere: in your email program, in Word, in PS or any other graphic program, anything that accepts graphics from a clipboard.

i must recommend screen hunter from www.wisdom-soft.com! it's a free program and will take screenshots of all, or part of your screen. amanda recommended it to me and i resisted forever since i could just do print screen then edit in photoshop. well i use screen hunter probably 50 times a day!! :D i hit F9 then drag to outline what i want and it's automatically saved! i use it to share layouts as i go too, no need to resize, just share a screenshot. very, very convenient. very fast! just attached one. and very free! :) and yes, very clear too. hth! :)
