View Full Version : Freebs Chat Suggestions
Freebs is quickly falling off in numbers, both at chat and in the challenges.
Would you rather have a "fun" chat? Instead of all business? Would that draw people back? yes, no, maybe?
if so, what theme?
A discussion chat?
?
Ideas? Thoughts?
I'm just wondering what I can do to get you all back!

Hmm....Here I thought we were having fun chats already!!! Sorry I totally spaced out tonight and missed the chat. I like the format as is, but would be willing to do something new if it brings in more chatters. Giving away a chat freebie is enough to bring me in to most chats. LOL. Maybe the late hour is a deterrent to some? Did we used to meet at 10 PM?
no, we used to meet at 11 it is @ 10 now, Sandy. lol!

I do better with daytime chats, altho' I know a lot of people work outside the home during the day.....
What about no chats at all? Are the amount of chats on DSP overwhelming? We could do freebs with no chat. I'd still make a participation freebie, so you'd still get your posting bonus + a freebie.
Would word art be better than kits?
What about a random drawing or answering a riddle/trivia question for the featured kit free? (1 person per week)???
Please help! I need to know if you are all still interested in Freebs.
Thanks.

I try to make it to the chats when I can! I always had fun with the suggestions for the posting bonuses... I can't make the chats during the day, so I come to the evening ones.

I was going to suggest that you close the gap between gimme and freebs.... but then I realised that will screw it up for me attending....
Will think on this....personally I think Freebs is great just the way it is. :yahoo:
Maybe once a month (or more randomly) we help design the kit like Razzle Dazzle Girl and then that is the kit for the week (no poll required).
My DD wants to add some smiley faces to this post...
:santa1: :santa1: :D :D  :love3:

YES, YES, YES.....Definitely still interested in Freebs. I wouldn't mind a chatless challenge though. We could still have a poll vote for the challenge kit, then a suggestion thread the way we've done several times when the chat was cancelled. I participate in several challenges where I don't attend the chat. I do hate missing the chat freebie though. I like the way that Linda runs her challenge. She gives out the chat freebie if you attend the chat, AND she also PMs the chat freebie along with the posting bonus to those who use the challenge kit. That way gals on the other side of the world who are working, or can't make the chat, can still get the chat freebie by doing the challenge. Linda doesn't keep track of whp already got the chat freebie....she just sends it along with the challenge bonus....so basically 2 ways to get the chat freebie.
Not sure why attendance has been down, but maybe with so many chats and challenges cancelled over the holidays, many haven't quite gotten back into the swing yet. Or maybe finances are limited now that Christmas is over. Just a thought.
I personally LOVE doing page kit challenges, and your kits have been rockin lately, but you also said that wordart sales were down too. Maybe the challenges could be divided into categories:
ONE challenge poll per month could be comprised of all word art (or similar)choices.
ONE challenge poll per month made up of Quick Clicks, Overlay Stackers (or similar)....only 2 needed to make a choice. LOL
TWO challenge polls per month made up of all Page Kits.
I would love to do Word Art challenges, but given a mixed poll choice, I will almost always choose the kit. That doesn't mean I DON'T want to do the word art....just that I'm forced to make a choice.....and the word art or QC always seems to come out on the short end. LOL.
Anyway....just some random thoughts and suggestions......

I agree with Sandy's suggestions .
I just can't do the chats as I would like because I don't have the time. I do love the way Linda gives the chat bonus along with the posting bonus.
personally, I wouldn't mind a chatless challenge either... but I would want to be sure everyone was still interested. Yes, you would still get the bonus for the posting, plus the participation bonus.
I know several designers don't run chats for the challenges, but then others have very successful chats.
I thought perhaps we needed a new spark in Freebs. It's an old chat. lol...
I know there are fun chats, game chats, bingo, trivia...
I think I will do Designakit Winakit once a month (at least) for sure tho!

I think I just have to put a reminder in my calendar for your chat, Tina...I was used to it being later and always in bed...sometimes I AM in bed by the time your chat starts. So if I'm not in bed, I try to make it.
Otherwise....I love freebs.....and even if I can't make the chat, I try to remember to check the thread for the challenge!
Oh..and chatless is OK too...no sense in you setting aside time if no one is attending! But keep the challenges coming!

I really like sandy's suggestions, dividing up the challenges, one week word art, one a qc and two kits. I can usually make it to chats it's at a good time for me,kids are in bed, but I don't mind forum based challenges.
