When you're creating and editing in PSE or Photoshop, what does Picasa really do for you? The viewer is awesome, but when I do find what I want, I still have to find it within PSE in order to edit it. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

YOu can right click on the image in picasa and select - locate on disc - it then opens the folder where the image is - and you can just drag it into your graphics programme

Ah-ha! Okay...I knew there was a reason everyone here was using it, but I just couldn't quite figure it out. Thanks so much!

oh, cool. I've tried this in ACDSee but can't figure out how to open the image in PS or PSP. I wonder if I'm doing it wrong, or it Picasa is just better!

When I took the FF class from Samuel, he told us we could drag and drop from Windows, instead of browsing for the graphics. I decided to try it in DIP and PSE, and it worked! Now, I just keep Windows opened when I am in a program and drag whatever I want onto my page. No more waiting for the files to load! I love it! I tried Picasa twice and uninstalled twice. It went after every graphic on my computer, and ran for several hours. I finally gave up on it! I know I was doing something wrong, but I don't have the patience to figure it out! :D

Ik I have a couple of questions. Is picasa the same type program as say Photo Album 5 or do they do different things. If they are different how are they different. I am trying to deside if I need both programs or just one? Your help would be greatly appriciated.

Yes, Picasa is an album/image organizer just like Photo Album, ACDSee, etc. The only reason you'd need more than one is to try and see which you prefer. Once you choose one, stick with it. When you take the time to tag and keyword all your images and elements, you'll lose all of that if you switch to another program. So make sure you love the one have before you spend hours tagging images into categories.
You can only save an image into one folder without making a copy, but tagging/keywording is a way to cross reference and make finding things easier. Have fun!
