I am having a hard time with the chat so I am going to vote forum based. But my suggestion for a fun chat that we do a LO during the chat and get a posting bonus.

I like the chat the way it is but I also think a forum based thing would be interesting to try...

Oh Tina, I love the chat the way it is but the time has always been hard for me. I will participate in whatever you do,(time and money permitting). Love the fun chats but I also love helping to design elements. I know I am being of no help at all so just ignore my post. LOL

I voted to keep it the same because I have always liked it… I liked it when everyone would start throwing ideas around together… It was fun, and really got your thinking caps to work.
But I do see where the forum based challenge is doing quite well also. I do hope that if that wins, you would consider still doing your chat, whether it be a fun one, a designing one, a learning one, or just a get together. (no chat freebie expected)

We can try it as a 'forum based' challenge....and always change it back if it doesn't fly.
I love the chat the way it is but sometimes I get too busy to attend. JMO ... it still is the best tho! :D
we could always have a little fun with the forum based thing. Like I could find a riddle/trivia each week and people would email me the answer and whatever number email (like on the radio, caller #...) would get that week's challenge kit free or something...

oh well a forum game things sounds good too. love to play games
I did the Pink Sugar challenge, but haven't attended a chat...so I'm not sure what the change is? Will there still be the forum challenges like Pink Sugar/make a layout/get a bonus? I really like those, they motivate me to create layouts and it's fun looking forward to the bonus.
As for chats, it's hard to attend all of the ones I'd like...I guess I'm asking will forum challenges stay no matter what the vote turns out to be... like the current one for Sentimental Swish...... or do any of the voting choices take away the challenges like Sentimal Swish and Pink Sugar?
What happens in the chats...ideas suggested or tutorials or talking about lots of different things?
Leea
Leea, no matter what, the challenges will stay. The chats are basically just a time for suggesting items for the bonuses that you receive. We chat about "nothing", and have fun, but a lot of people don't have time to attend chat- or there are just too many chats to choose from.
I know several designers have forum based challenges w/ no chat and they seem to go over well... Just not sure what to do, so leaving it up to all of you :D

Tina, I made a tough decision about 8 months ago not to participate in chats after 8 p.m. my time. The chats are fun and the freebies are great, but I was staying up late too many nights...especially after I read that research that you gain weight when you don't get enough sleep! So, I am voting for a forum based challenge.
LOL Maureen, I should go to bed earlier then!

Tina, I love the chats but rarely get to attend...DD's homework, Girl Scouts, gymnastics, church....whew! I get tired thinking about it! I love your chats because they are fun and have a purpose. Forum based challenges are what I participate in most, due to lack of time.
And after Maureen's comment about weight, I think I gained a few pounds last night!

I love your challenges and your kits, but i haven't made it to chats, or done challenges lately, as my life has been too busy! but i hope to get back to them soon, and like the way the challenges and chats are, so i voted to leave as is.
In the past i also have done some of the forum based, so either way you would do them is great. :)
I think I understand better now...I read another thread in the Freebs forum...if a member attends the chat, they get to make suggestions for the bonus (maybe future kits?) and they get freebies for attending, is this correct?
I've been to some chats since I've joined a few months ago, and while they're fun, it's hard for me to keep up with all the conversations (and I do try the stop scroll thingy, but still miss things) and sometimes notice suggestions made and questions asked that get missed in the overall conversations, so in that case, I like forum based challenges...each post can be read or re-read, even days later, and there's time to think about suggestions for kits, etc. when asked :)
It's hard to attend chats at night for me (things going on offline or I forget), and it's disappointing to miss a great freebie, so if I'm understanding correctly, then forum based with a chat freebie sounds good.
Could special chats be scheduled? When a holiday or special occasion is coming, a special chat for that? If I knew there was going to be a special Valentines or Christmas chat, I would probably try to arrange things so I could attend something special every so often :)
I found Freebs with Tina in time for the Pink Sugar challenge...there's a lot of things to discover at DSP. I like your designs, have bought several, and really like to take part in challenges :) Not only do I put the kit to use, but it is wonderful to see how different people take the same kit and create so many different versions of it with their photos and be able to go to a gallery for that challenge to see the different versions :)
I like to check the forums several times a day and contests sound like fun :) How about a Hide and Seek challenge...maybe you post a clue/riddle about a design element in a kit, and the first to figure out the connection, gets a free something...with everyone else having a chance to get the item that was a prize too...like purchasing an add-on to get the item...for example, a riddle about something in a Valentine based kit...the person who answers you first, gets a free add-on that will be available for others to purchase, etc (it's disappointing to see something great that is no longer available).
LOL..looks like I want a combination...Freebs forum with challenges, with some contests and special chats when you have time/want to do them :)

I'm usually always busy at night so I never get a chance to attend any of the evening chats! I'd like to but it's usually not feasible for me. I like the "forum based" challenge. But I'm willing to go with whatever is decided. Maybe one of these days I'll actually be able to get in on a "chat".
If you do any special chats, would it be allowed for you to make blinkies for Freebs members to add to their signatures (if I can figure out how to do that....LOL...the NKOTB is the only one I've gotten, and I was talked through the steps for that one ) that say (using one of my favorite themes...Valentines) something like Join Freebs with Tina Valentine Chat...with the day and time on the blinkie, decorated with one of your background/kit elements? I notice other members' signature blinkies for designers and if I saw one that sounded interesting for a chat, I might make a note to attend...does DSP allow designers to promote their events that way?

Staying up late...not getting enough sleep makes you fat? Uh-oh....I am in serious trouble. LOL.
I am torn as to which way to vote......I enjoy the chats, but time is always as a premium. I do like the other forum-based challenges I do, and I don't feel like I "missed" an opportunity to get a chat freebie. We also seem to have a good time bantering back and forth in the forums.....and I get a kick out of that as well. I like your idea about a riddle or an occasional forum "game" too Tina. I think I will vote for Forum-based challenges. As said above, you can see how it goes and if participation drops off, go back to chat-based challenges.
My only suggestion for a forum-based challenge is to have it very schedule oriented. If there is going to be a poll.....post is at the same time each week and have it open for a set period of time.....then addon suggestions, or whatever.
I also wouldn't mind if you simply chose a kit for us to use. Many designers do this and also design the bonus and freebie without input for the members. Sometimes I think our ideas are creative, but other times I feel (at least for me) that our suggestions are always the same......a frame, more ribbons, a tie.....etc. Anyway...I am happy whichever way it goes.....LOL

I haven't been able to make many because of the time, but I do really enjoy them and make them when I can. The chat or the forum both sound great to me!

Oh, my, so that has been my problem and good thing I am trying to go to bed earlier... lolol
I would love to stay with chats if they could be an hour or so earlier... but if we go to forum I'm hoping that we would still be able to vote for the kits!
Margo, I'd love to do earlier, but I just can't. For one thing it would run into Lauren's chats, and 9 pm is just too hectic of a time in my house. Tate's getting ready for bed and such, and I can't miss tucking him in.

I want to do my vote over! I voted for the games, but it is losing! I love to play games, even though I always lose! But I love to chat too! If you do the forum thing, it would be good to have the riddle or game-type thing to go with it.

Tina, I didn't vote because I don't come to the chats, but I do like forum challenges. I don't do many chats because I just can't keep up with all the chatter & I really can't think of ideas to add to the suggestions for a kit. Right now the only chats I like are learning chats. At least I can keep up in those. I do forum challenges for kits I think I can use and as the $$ holds out. Those are the two main criteria that I have that helps me make a decision on which challenges to do. I would love to do a lot more than I do but I have to pick and choose so I'm not able to do any challenge consistently.

Tina I never attend the chats because it is too late but I do vote on which kits. I do the challenges as forum based now but the addition of a game or riddle sounds like fun. I am just happy using your kits.

I can't attend your chat as I am on my way to work at that time so a forum based challenge and the odd chat would work best for me

I do attend certain chats, usually those that I do the challenge layouts for.
I have to be choosy cause I can't afford to buy every layout kit for every challenge, especially the way the economy is now. I love scrapping, but when it comes down to what to buy I only buy a few kits.

dang I missed voting on this. I love the way it is, but what ever you want to do is great by me. It is hard for me to always chat, cuz of the kids, but I also like getting together to chat, so what is a girl to do.

Darn! I missed the poll. I love Freebs as is, but if it goes forum-based I'll still participate.
