Hi Everyone
Just curious on this one. Scrapbooking in general but especially digiscrapping is much newer in Australia than it is in the US and our standard page format (for standard printers) is slightly different to yours. We use A4 which is 210mmx297mm (I think about 8.5x12 inch)
I started off doing my pages on A4 but then discovered that A4 albums are impossible to find! I really wanted to use albums as apposed to binders or display folders as it just looks better, well in my opinion anyway! ;-) I do prefer the square format but we can't really afford a new wide format printer or to have the pages printed profesionally! Man that is expensive here! Ideally of course I would like to be doing 12x12 pages and have them professionally printed, but unfortunately our budget doesn't allow for that.
I since discovered 8x8 format albums which are still hard to find, but not impossible, so for now I have decided to design my pages in 12x12 and print them in 8x8. That way if I ever am able to have them printed larger I can do so.
Anyway, after that long story! LOL I was wondering what other Aussie's do printing wise?

I started doing my layouts in 8x10 partly due to the fact that i could get them printed at the photo store that size but also because i could get albums that size - Then I won an 8x8 album and that converted me to 8x8 - I do design them 12x12 and print them 8x8 until the day I can afford a large format printer- - remember to try online stores for albums and inserts - Im just now on the hunt for inserts for my 8x8 album here in NZ so am off to do a search on google

Thanks Lauren! ;-)
I must admit I haven't seen any 8x10 albums here either but I didn't even think of doing them that size! LOL I have just ordered a few 8x8 albums from an online store and have a friend getting me some more. I wanted a couple of baby albums and some albums for everyday stuff. I rang the scrapbooking shop here and they only had two 8x8 albums and they were baby albums, which I would have been happy with but they were $50 each, so I decided to go with the $30 suede look ones instead. They had them in 'baby' colours so that suited me fine! ;-)
Does anyone have any links to good online scrapbooking stores? I ordered my albums from rememberwhen.com.au I wouldn't mind getting a wedding album either but that can wait for now.. it would be nice to have one designed for that purpose but if not I will just get a plain one.

Since I posted that I just did a search of NZ scrapbook sites and I cant seem to get 8x8 refills anywhere - i went to order from scrapbooks.com and they wanted to charge me $US20 postage - can you believe that - for a flimsy pack of page protectors!!!!!!!-
I dont know if you have a "Warehouse" near you ( you know the big red store that came over there from NZ - but here they sell albums - craftworks is the brand and they even do A4 I think- and they sell protectors to fit them for really low prices
Any links on aussie stores with 8x8 page protectors would be appreciated - otherwise its lucky ive got lots of US friends who will post for way less than $20!!!!

I think www.kiwiscraps.co.nz has 8x8 albums and refills. They are in Wellington, NZ but I think are happy to deliver to Oz. They are usually pretty good price wise and are very willing to get stuff in if you ask for it (within reason). I got a couple of cool 8x8s there for about NZ$26 each and the refills were reasonably priced. I love the 8X8 size - but I tend to wait so that I can print in bulk and take advantage of the discount per print. Just got some back and they look very cool.

I have found the following two websites with 8x8 albums and refills.
http://www.scrapbookingmadeeasy.com.au/ and
http://www.rememberwhen.com.au/
I have ordered mine from the latter website, they say they do get the 8x8 refills but currently have them on backorder and are expecting them in 1-2wks..
I do wonder about the differences between brands tho... I have yet to see the inside of a scrapbook album so have no idea if it matters if you get different brand inserts to what you have an album for or not?

I think that sometimes it matters and sometimes not what inserts you get - not helpful I know! I usually try to stick with the same brand so the pages all look the same.

I have been having a look at Ofoto and they have 8x8 and 12x12 scrapbook albums for sale. Prices seem pretty reasonable, with the 8x8 you would need photo corners or other type of adhesive as they are not sleeves to put the layouts in, they do ship to Australia and NZ, you just need to check out the prices.
Still looking for somewhere in OZ that will supply them.

PS. My Bazzill album 8x8 just arrived and it is lovely too. I can't wait to put my wedding pages in it! ;-)
