At last Adobe have released a trial version of PSE3 - previously they only offered PSE2 for free trial - - the link to their download page is here (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html). Be warned its a 228Mb download !!!

Thanks, Lauren, I'm surprised it took them so long!

I just downloaded this trial, and am a bit dissappointed that it (the demo) doesn't do more. But I LOVE the cookie cutter - I think that would come in so handy.

Has anyone else tried out the demo or have they just gone ahead and upgraded?

I'm still waiting on my DH to talk to his mate at Adobe to see if he can get me a copy :p Hee Hee! I can hope can't I??

I did the upgrade. I love the photo organizer and the cookie cutter. The photo filters and the highlight and shadow tools are awesome too! I would have been tearing my hair out and deleting alot of stuff when the site got hacked if it wasn't for the organizer! It saved me.. I just looked around the date that I uploaded the orginal file and found where it was on my harddrive. Yeah! :) Good luck with your husbands friend!

Just a note for anyone who has ps cs and downloads the trial of pse3 - Make sure you uninstall the trial after it expires or you might find you have the trouble I had - When i opened PSCS for the first time after a reboot it would not open - it came up with an error message saying I needed to reinstall - having done this and still getting the error message each time i opened PS CS after a reboot - and after an hour on the phone to Adobe Tech support who got me it reinstall in safe mode - all to no avail as the very next time I opened i got the same message it suddenly occured to me that PS CS phones home on opening - checking that activation code - and something might be blocking it - Tried turning off norton and Zonealarm - no good - so i just checked my running processes and saw 2 entries for photoshop elements even though i didnt have it open - this set me to wondering and I unintstalled it - Yahoo- success - no more error messages - It must have been either blocking my activation or sending some message to adobe that was mistaken for my pscs activation.

The PSE trial is a DEMO?! I've always gotten the full versions from them!!!! Really?! I have to ask, are you sure?

Lauren, does this trouble only happen when you upgrade from a CD? With my PSP, when I tried to open the expired version, it had a link to upgrade, so I clicked it, paid, got my code, then the next time I opened it worked fine. Didn't have to install anything IIRC... I've never upgraded a trial to full version from Adobe before.

They call it a demo I think but its a full featured trial from what I saw - Emma - I dont have the full version - i only had the trial - I didnt purchase the programme itself. It was the full version of pscs that the error occured in .

Okay, that's good to know. Moondust, What was lacking in the trial demo that you'd like to see? I have the full version, I can tell you if it's in there.

Lauren, what's the procedure to upgrade from a trial? I don't recall. I just uninstalled the trial and used my old version until it struck me to upgrade and unistalled it. When I tried to open the expired PSE, I THINK it said Upgrade here, but don't recall. When you upgrade, do you have to download the full version again, or just the unlocking code?

Emma,
I went back and had another look at the demo/trial version and found what I thought was missing. At first I couldn't get the filters and effects to load - in fact couldn't see them at all, that's why I was initially dissappointed (sp), but they are there now, much to my and my DD's delight! :p

Now I REALLY, REALLY want to upgrade!!!! Will have to see what can be done - maybe if I drop a few hints to DH that it would make a wonderful 14th anniversary present!!! :D  I might just get it.

Thanks for your input.
Lauren - I'll have to keep an eye out on the 30 days and make sure I uninstall it before it runs out - just to be on the safe side. ;)

Dumb question, but should there be an uninstall option somewhere. I remember when I downloaded the trial version of PSE2.0 it just wouldn't work anymore and I couldn't even download again because it recognised my computer etc.. I didn't have to uninstall.

Thanks again everyone for your input.
