Not a dumb question!! I'll bet 100's of people on this list have the same one! My thought is that it has something to do with beginner's and that there used to be a forum thread at the site called Two Peas in A Bucket that addressed those issues.
Two Peas in A Bucket is a scrapbooking site used by lots of scrappers although I always thought it was more for paper scrappers (great layouts to scraplift there). They have a "Quote Garden" which is very useful for finding quotes and phrases for your pages too.
So those are my guesses. I'll be watching the thread to find out what the real answer is!!!!
Oh and for what it is worth: My Organic Chemistry prof years ago said that there was no such thing as a dumb question. If you have a question in a room full of 100 people, 10 other people have the same question but don't have the courage to ask! I think he was right!

Mekstamper - you are right! A wonderful pea at Two Peas in Bucket started a tutorial for people who wanted to learn how to do digital SB LO's. But, unfortunately it is against the rules on that site to link to other SB sites (she was liking tutorials and some were talking about sites to buy/download elements and such) and so the thread got pulled. Thankfully Amanda was nice enough to let us start one over here - which is an AWESOME site!!!
Hope this answered your questions....
I'm so glad Amanda was quick enough to start this too. I'll be sappy and admit it hurt when that thread got deleted not only because I spent so much time replying in there, but because I felt there are so many peas who wanna digi scrap, and I thought they'd be swimming alone! I have such a compulsion to help if someone wants to know something I know, and I remember how hard it was to get started. Lots of benefits to digging, but the learning curve is steeper than paper at the beginning.
So welcome! So glad to have so many new faces so excited to learn. I'm having a total blast with you!

Emma,
I have to admit it hurt me too.. but I can't blame them for enforcing their policy (I really thought digital scrapping wouldn't conflict with their business) Oh well.. they have the right to do as they wish on their boards and I won't complain about that.
And.. because of that, we are going to get to meet a lot of nice new folks over here at DSP... and I'm looking forward to that. You ladies have been spectacular with the help you have been giving the newbies.. It truly amazes me... and I'm going to take full advantage of it.. believe me.

Yeah, ITA about enforcing their policy IF they enforced it. It's so full of ads, whenever anything gets yanked and something else doesn't it sends the wrong message.
We don't allow commercial links here either, but I would rather have had a warning and links removed because the thread was packed with good info.
However, I have to add, that all that info and tons more is right here in the tutorials, forums, and classes. I just felt that peas wanted help getting started, and without posting links that thread was a great resource on a site that focuses on paper.
Plus, it's great having you here. I feel much more free to direct with links to helpful information now. I just hope the lost wannabe diggers can find the info they need. It doesn't hurt that 2peas enforced their policy, it hurts to know people might be lost or frustrated. Hopefully the new thread will ease that!
Welcome to DSP! I'm loving this :)

I'm so glad to be here too, and thanks for starting this. As far as 2 Peas pulling the thread, I'm bummed too. There was a LOT of information there. I know they have rules, but too bad they couldn't pull just the posts that broke the rules and not the whole thread. Oh well, we're here now :)

I was a little  when the thread was pulled. I thought it was a great idea since so many peas were curious about Digital Scrapbooking. It was a great way to add to the knowledge of 2Peas but they felt it was promoting another site and pulled our thread, which was about 4 pages long in the first two days. This could have eventually increase the peas but instead 2peas did exactly what they were afraid someone else would do, by pulling the thread it forced us to look elsewhere for information, and here we are, welcomed with open arms! Thanks so much DSP!!

Isn't that like "Cutting off your nose to spite your face?" Guess they just didn't see the potential customers and increased web sales that they just passed up!
So much for good ecommerce business!!
Glad to have you all here... Tracey

So much for good ecommerce business!!Nah, they know. They'll be along shortly, I know. Besides, I think digital and paper crossover layouts are the future of scrapbooking. Choose as much paper or digital as YOU want, all, nothing, or anything in between. You can print any of the products from this site for use with paper scrapping, or add paper products to digital layouts, or whatever! It's wonderful, and scrapping sites are aware of the trend

I wasn't there too long ... just a couple of months. I was considering digital scrapping since I have a lot of photos on my computer. I did a google search and found this place. I haven't left! The designers, the whole site is very informative and eager to help. I love it here.
I try to do a tutorial a day and then a layout using what I learned. I have to say, I'm pleased with what I'm doing. I have taken a couple of my digitals, had them printed and then mounted them to my 12x12 paper, added a few embellishments and put them in the family album I've been working on. I gotta say, diggy is so much fun.
I hope you enjoy it here ... I love this place!

 It seems when there is an awesome new thread....I either don't know about it, stumble upon it , or someone recommends it! :o
Any suggestions to better find the *good* stuff- altho it's all good-
I usually don't go to all the categories---
Just a thought!

Thanks for asking the question GingersGirl. I too was wondering what peas meant. Too bad for 2Peas. What good does information do if you can't (or won't) share it. I've learned more from this site in the last week than I have looking all over the internet since Christmas. Keep up the good work.

OK, now I better understand what happened. All I can say is WELCOME!!!!! I agree with Emma, I think a blend of the two is where scrapping is headed. I am totally digital, but there are some aspects of the interactive pages to open up the journaling I really like, but...I'm just not a cut and paste person. It's just so...so...permanent! I'm really looking forward to learning from you guys and seeing some blended stuff in the gallery! Who knows, maybe I'll end up adding paper to digital!
