Sick Walker Kids

Maggie is home today with the flu - I feel silly for taking her to the doctor only to learn that she does not have any type of ear, or strep infection - DUH, fourth-time-mom! Should know the difference between aches and whatever infection of the week....... The bad news is that the other three have the same starting symptoms, so we're in for a fun few days. The good news is that hopefully we'll all get it and get it over with so it doesn't linger for 6 weeks one at a time...... And, yes, maybe I should BELIEVE my kids when they tell me they have a headache. :)

All that to say that I'm behind. I will send linkies to the posting bonus later this afternoon, and will post the new challenge as soon as I can....... :)

Hope they get healthy soon! We've been through something at our house. Three year old daughter started with a fever over a week ago, which came and went for 6 days. I was fine with all that, but the rash that showed up on day 5 sent me running to the doctor! Just to learn it was hives and no big deal other than the itching. For any of you who have seen the movie Hitch, I swear she was channeling Will Smith's character with the ear swelling before my eyes! A little Bendryl did the trick. Unfortunately, husband was next on the sickie band wagon, and I picked up part of it, but not nearly as bad as the others.

Oh Suzi, I feel your pain. And don't think twice about the doctor visit. I was totally sure that my three had just a stomach thing last week, took them to the doc and ended up with meds for strep for all and a tonsillectomy consultation for one of them. And we all (meaning kids and dh and I) had the flu bug too. I feel your pain, but like you said, better they all get it at the same time, than one at a time for 6 weeks...

Got my Just Plain White already! I just need to read what I have to do this week! Hope your kids feel better soon! I am that mom too! "You have a headache, here is some tylenol and off to school with you!" I have to check and see if the NKOTB results are in, too!!!

Ready for an update? Soooooooooooooooooo... The doctor told us Monday when we were in that if we got through 3 days or so, we'd be in the clear. I was seriously jumping for joy at my unparalleled skill at containing the germs to one kid....... Then last night - 2 am, here comes Molly, burning up. THANK HEAVENS Bill had a cancelled appointment and could stay home with her because I got to go on a field trip with Maggie's class that I'd been (and MAGGIE had been) looking forward to. Then this evening, Maggie melts down having pain in her ear. I am anticipating a trip to the urgent care tomorrow (with 4 kids in tow because dh has a big workshop tomorrow). Soooooooooo... I'm NOT quite as skilled with the clorox cleanup stuff as I'd thought, AND we have that ear infection that I'd thought we might have to boot. Which is funny because we have ONLY had 2 ear infections counting this one...... When it rains, it pours. Cross parts for me, PLEASE, that the boys somehow avoid all this (and that Bill and I avoid all this - you know how men are when they're sick)..................!
