I have two questions about brushes as I havve never used them...
1. I downloaded a brush set, saved it into <preset><brushes> but can't seem to get at them in PSE6. What more do I need to do?
2. Does anyone have any pages that they have used brushes in a creative way on? I don't have any idea what to do with them! LOL

1. make sure they are unziped and:
choose your brush tool then click the little arrow at the top next to the icon which shows the selected brush's size and shape
from that drop down menu choose the arror in a circle at the top left
scroll down the flyout menu and select to Load Brushes
this opens the preset brushes folder by default so if you unzipped the brushes there you will find them in there
choose append to list or the brushes you chose will get rid of all your other brushes or remember to reset your brushes after you've finished using the new brushes
2. in scraping I mostly use brushes to paint masks to blend photos and/or backgrounds together
