Props and Prompts: CHAT {Mar 4} CHALLENGE {Mar 4-18}

The next Props and Prompts with Z and Bethy chat is on the calendar!! SOO . . . get it on yours!!

Tuesday, March 4th at 10:00pm EST we will be having our monthly chat! We'll talk about our upcoming challenge (which is a new idea for us) and you'll get a great chat bonus just for showing up!!

Then, come on back here . . . if you use either of the featured kits discussed in the chat to create a layout, you'll get a really fun posting bonus!!!

Featured kits (which, by the way, coordinate on purpose!) are:

We hope you like them! Now, they coordinate for a treat because so many times you all buy BOTH of our products for the challenge. We love and thank you for it! But remember, to earn the posting bonus, you only need to use ONE page kit in a layout.

Now, obviously these page kits lend themselves to spring, fresh, or new - so that's a decent enough prompt and you can go with it. Think new babies or baby showers, spring events, weddings, easter, etc. But we thought we'd throw another prompt out there for your consideration. What if you HID something in your layout? Something we didn't know was there, until we read your clue in the journalling? Make sure it's something interesting or important to your ultimate viewer - you and your future generations or family/friends. Make THEM find it many years from now when going through your scrapbooks. You can even write the answer on the back of your printed layouts in your book. But for now, your DSP audience will try to find what you have "hidden" - so let's see those clues!

You need NOT use the prompts to get the bonus - these are only ideas we toss out to hopefully spark your creativity!

OK, I am not seeing any things being hidden. You guys have to do it, so I know how! :D Z what do you mean by this?

Well I did my layouts before I thought of the challenge. But, an example would be, say, if you had a photo of a whole room - and often we'd crop down to just our subject, but suppose something in the background is the child's favorite toy or a project he or she just worked on, or just anything that is important at this moment. Don't crop, leave it all in - it's a window to your whole everyday anyway. Now, if you are inclined to journal towards your child like I do, you might mention in the journalling, "I wonder if you can find your current favorite toy in the photo?" Now, if you print, you might want to jot down the answer on the back as the child might not remember the answer when he or she is an adult.

Or, blend something into one of the backgrounds, then mention its there and can the viewer find it. Just make sure if you do this the viewer is let on to the fact that there is something to keep eyeballing for. The point is that years from now someone says, "ooh, how clever!"

I'll try to come up with one, somewhere I have a photo of my great grandmother's drawing room. In it is a chair I grew up sitting in at my grandmother's house. My sister has that chair, I believe. So I could say in my journalling, "Can you spot the chair that is still in our family today?"

I'm sure you all can think of more clever things than I, and it will be fun to see if you all do. If not, no worries, we just thought it might be something to think on, even if you don't use the idea until later when something suddenly falls into place on another layout.

I've added my LO using BOTH kits It's tough for me to find pictures do to the fact I always saved my pictures for e-mail purposes. I've gotten wiser in my old age and now ALL my pictures will be saved as large files! What a good excuse to buy a new camera!! LOL

If you have purchased and used both page kits, and didn't make the chat, the chat backpack will be sent to you as well as the posting bonus.

If you purchased and used one kit (either one), and didn't make the chat, you may choose the chat backpack instead of the posting bonus as your freeb. Please pm Beth AND myself OR post in this thread if that is your choice.
