I am currently using Publisher to do my digital layouts but would love to buy a mac. What do people use for layouts on a Mac? I know lots use Adobe Photoshop but aren't your file sizes HUGE? Also - does it allow you to have multiple pages in your document or do you save each layout as a separate file? I have a very old version of PS and it didn't allow multiple pages in a document. Any ideas on software for mac would be great!

I have a Mac and I use PSE4 (Photoshop Elements 4) and it works great. I don't know about file size, I've never really paid much attention to that so someone else might be able to answer that. Someday I would love to upgrade to PS but not right now. As far as I know each page is saved separately.

If you use Publisher and want to go Mac you might want to look into Pages which comes with iWork. I use Pages 2 for a newsletter I put together, it is similar to Publisher.

PSE and PS would have more things specific to photos. I'm sure someone else can give you more direction but just wanted you to know that you could use Pages

Photoshop doesn't save in multiple pages.

You'll get better color quality and control printing directly from Photoshop than you will from Publisher. Usually, there's no problem, but every once in a while I would have atrocious printing color issues at work from Publisher.

I use Pages, but am having trouble finding a service that will print page files. Any suggestions?

What if you saved it as a high resolution PDF file? Every print shop I've had anything to do with takes PDFs.

PS and PSE are for single-image editing. For multiple pages, while you can do it in PS and PSE, it is not a "desktop publishing" software like Adobe InDesign. InDesign is better for assembling graphics and text, and Photoshop is better for creating and editing the graphics.

For a MAC, I'd strongly suggest PSE 6 coming out this month. It's by far THE most common program for any scrapper, PSE, and you'll find the most support and experience using it than with anything else.

Has anyone tried iScrapbook or iRemember? I've been using PSE4 and was thinking of buying one of these. I tried the iScrapbook demo difficult to use. I only tried it briefly though. I couldn't figure out how to change color or crop.

I download a free trial of IRemember and didn't like it. Most pages I am doing with the pages program that comes with the iWork suite. I also downloaded GIMP, which is a really powerful photo editor and best of all it is FREE!!
