Featured Designer Challenge by Cathie and Formby (the Luvaducks)

Who's up for the Featured Designer Challenge for March?
The featured designer this month is Lisa Carter.

This challenge uses, exclusively, items from the Designer of the Month featured in the DSP Monthly Newsletter. The products used can be purchased or from the freebie gallery, but everything used on your layout must be from the featured designer. (No items from pre-designer days, such as SNL kits, etc.)

You earn a posting bonus for doing 5 layouts and another one for doing 10 layouts. Please PM CathieMarie when you have completed 5 and 10 layouts to receive the posting bonus. In addition, there is a random draw for a free page kit at the end of the month.

OK - Cathie and I are always looking for new ways to promote the designers each month. This month we are going to try something new! There will be a random draw for any posts that contain a link to a kit you have reviewed. This will be for a $1.99 gift certificate.

If you've never written a review before, you just go to the store, log in and find the item in the store. At the bottom of the page describing the item, you will see a "Write a Review" button. Just write a review, create a post with the link to the kit. You can enter as many times as you like, a separate post for each review.

Please make the reviews thoughtful and specific. Our goal is to get meaningful reviews for the designers rather than lots of reviews for the designers.

I couldn't sleep and was stressing about the DET contest so I decided to just scrap super fast and have fun and not worry to much about the results. This challenge gave me the opportunity to have some focus in the exercise.

And I had actually only done nine last night. I just finished my tenth. I'll be doing more this month. Lisa has some beautiful kits.

This was actually the first album I had done traditionally and entered it at the County Fair and won blue and gold ribbons!!! It will compete at the State Fair this year...

They don't rotate the designers through featured. I'm not quite sure how it works, but I think you have to apply for it. The next featured MAY be a repeat. I'm not telling :)

Hmm...I just went back through ALL the newsletters from August 2006 forward and I don't see any clear pattern in the order of Featured Designers. Based on what I found, Suzanne has never been featured, nor has Irene or Kerri. (I thought Irene had been, but not according to the Newsletters I looked at). Rene was the first in August 2006 and hasn't been since. Jamie was in Sept. 2006 and hasn't been since. I have NO idea, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.....LOL.

You're right Cathie. I only looked at the links at the top of each newsletter, and the link at the top of the Sept. 07 newsletter says Beth is the designer of the month, but if you scroll down to the actual designer section, it does say Irene was the featured designer.

When you say 'kit' does that mean an actual KIT? I've bought six things of Lisa's this month but none of them kits - just groupies, ploppers & QCs.

Dawn, it can be any item from Lisa, so if anyone wants the FREE plopper just get anything from the store that has been designed by Lisa, use it to create a LO for this Featured Designers Challenge and it's yours. You still have 4 days to do it in so come on ladies buy one and get one FREE.
