((waving my hand))
I think I have the same problem: ever since I started with PSE & PSCS, I cannot see thumbnail images of my layouts in Windows. I click on My Documents>Scrapbook>My Layouts and I can seel thumbnail images of all my layouts created in DIP9 and I can click on them to preview them, but every one that I created in either PSE or PSCS only has the Adobe logo on it. When I click on it, it automatically open up in PSCS (which takes forever to open). If I Right Click>Open With>Windows PIcture & Fax Viewer, I get the message No Preview Available.
It's very frustrating and I haven't found a way around it.

Sad to say i don't think there is an answe to this - when I first got CS it was the first thing I noticed. Weirdly, its very random, some of my LO's have thumbnails some don't. I asked on every group I could & nobody could help - I've heard lots of theories, if older versions are installed before CS - I still have older versions but have the thumb problem. Only way to see them quickly is to use PS's own file browser to view them Shift+Ctrl+O. Hope this helps!

This is the link on Adobe:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/327459.html
this should get your thumbnails back :) :D
1. Download psicon.dll (http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files.php/dllfiles/P/psicon.dll/download.html)from DLL Dump
2. Place the DLL in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Shell\
3. Thumbnail previews of PSD files are now back

Oh I was so excited - I can't see mine either or the Tiff thumbnails. Gosh darn it. I downloaded the dll file, already had it - replaced it anyway and restarted my computer - still nothing!!!!
Later: OK - this is a CS thing. I can still see the thumbnails that were created by PS 7.0 - it's just the new stuff that I can't see. That .dll file is not for viewing thumbnails created by CS. Meryl this may explain the random viewing that you are experiencing.

Thanks for the update on this. No use getting that dll file if it doesn't work on CS files.
