View Full Version : Is there an easy way to view the text types (fonts) in PSE?
Please tell me there is an easy way to see what the fonts look like before actually typing with them. Is there a way to print or obtain a list of them? I find it very tedious to try out all the types in order to choose the best one.
Thanks!

If you select your text. (Click on the "T'" in the tool bar. Then drag over the entire text to highlight it.) Then click in the font box on the top of the screen. The name of the current font you are using will be in the box. Once that is highlighted you can just roll you roller on your mouse or use the down arrow on your keyboard to scroll down the list of fonts. The text you have highlighted will change as you go.
Easy!!! Let me know if this does not work for you.
Or you can download this cool little free program called The Font Thing (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/fontthing.shtml). It is super cool!! :)
I like to use The Font Thing set the Multiple, type in my desired text, and I can see a huge list of various fonts to choose from and exactly what MY words will look like in that font.
Inside PS/E, you have to do as Angie suggested. PSP has font preview, but it's only a tiny ABC abc. I like it, but sometimes still have to use TFT to view a lot in specific words.
One more tip when highlighting text to scroll through the fonts, only works in PS, is to go to View>Hide Extras and you can see the fonts without the highlighting. It's still highlighted/selected, just not visibe, so you get a better sense of the effect and the color
thank you both for your suggestions, I will have to try those.
Emma, what is The Font Thing?

for this tip! I had no idea you could do that. It's such a timesaver. I've started a whole binder on PSE tips and tutorials and this is going in it, I will use it every time I use PSE!!
