since i took tina's wordart class, i've been having a lot of fun creating!

i've found that certain font combo's always turn out beautifully together. my favorite is Times New Roman with LainierDaySH. Sometimes i'll even throw in Artistamp if i want a 3rd font.

any else have font combo's that are especially good together?

Is there an example of those two fonts together? Also, where do you get the LanierDay SH font from?

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=18667&password=&sort=2&cat=500&page=2 shows them together.

i think got lainierdaySH from dafonts.com, but i know i've seen it at other free font sites.

You're right - they go great together - and that's a beautiful layout!

One of my favourite combos is Bodoni and Freebooter Script.

This is a GREAT thread! I know for myself word art is a real challenge. I love having just a photo and some word art on top for a quick page. I struggle with it though and having proven combo's really helps! THANKS!

Another combo I really like is Century Gothic (a great font and very versatile), together with pharmacy.
You can find an example here: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=19347&password=&sort=2&cat=500&page=1

In that layout I added some words with Jungle Juice, because it is a kid's layout and I just love jungle juice for that.

I used French Script and Times New Roman in Tina's class for this picture. I really like them together. I think my favorite font is Beautiful ES, and I use it a lot in layouts just by itself. http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=18636&password=&sort=2&cat=500&page=1

I like this thread and wanted to revive it. :D

I'm picky about fonts. For example, when I italicize, I only like fonts like Times New Roman (serif, I think). I love Century Gothic, but not italicized. It's sans serif. I don't like script fonts italicized.

Another picky thing: I don't like all caps in script fonts.

I like at least two fonts on my layouts and right now I'm in a Typewriter and Handwriting font mode.

For word art, I like script and plain fonts together. Beautiful ES and Garamond, for example. Mary Jamieson (showme) used these two in the word art in her Memories and I thought it looked lovely. Here's the link (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=37166&cat=500&page=1).

This is a great thread, however a lot of the links no longer have the corresponding thumbnails so we cannot see the examples.
Hope some of you can get these corrected.
I have a lot of trouble figuring out which two fonts to pair.

looks liek we have a few galleries to repair (Rikki, you get a free kit if you reupload all your layouts that were hacked in January, just PM Val and let her know when it's restored).

Any more examples of fonts to pair?

I love Trajan Pro (an all caps serif font) with just about any casual script font. Here it's paired with Treasuremap Deadhead and some other frilly font

I don't have favorites because I've never found what I consider a great combination that I want to use again. This is a wonderful thread, or it would be if the links still worked. Does anyone else have examples of great combinations.

Ooooooooooooooooh! GREAT thread!

Hmmmmm... Classic favorite is Century Gothic with Felix Titling (I believe you can get both at daFont.com). Oy, where can I find an example...... I think I've got one someplace in my gallery. Will go look and link.

I also love Century Gothic OR Felix Titling with a handwritten/scripty/calligraphy font. Century or Felix with Carpenter ICG (daFont) is a favorite. Or CK Venezia (this is a pay font, from www.creatinkeepsakes.com - from the CK Heritage Vintage and Retro Collection CD).

I'll go look for some links.

I love a grungy font all by itself. I think it's bold! Okay. Now I'm layout hunting!

unfortunately, a lot of the links don't work, so it's difficult to see the combos.

hmm, i wonder what happened to lainieday at dafont.com? here's a new link for it.

Its possible that Laine Day is actually a pay font and that is why DaFont has pulled it. I've found that they've been doing that lately :D

I was able to d/l this morning off the font reactor site (instead of leaving for work on time).

But to put the question out there again - what are your favorite fonts to pair together for word art? I was really wondering yesterday as I made the word art for my 23rd Psalm layout. I really need to take the class.

By the way, I used Times New Roman and Scrap Cursive. Here's a link to my layout: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=85359&cat=500&ppuser=17705

Karen Bowers

tina, i was wondering that, too, especially since you can only find carpenter as a pay font now. but i couldn't find lainie day for pay.

i like this thread. this is the first word art i ever created http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=73183&cat=500&ppuser=30809

but i think these two fonts go together well: geselle, bernard fashion
