( OHHHHHHHHH and btw - I REALLY liked the way Dawn did her colour swatch with the interior decor beside - not that you have to do that - but it really added to the inspiration dont you think??????????)

Here is how to have your image display in a forum thread.

The image needs to either be in the gallery, or some other online photo sharing site first. Get the location of the image. If it is here at DSP, click on the image in the gallery, and then with your mouse over the photo, right click and click properties and select and copy the full address/URL.

Then when you make you post, you need to insert the link in the following format:

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/500/IMG_post.jpg

Alternatively, you can click Go Advanced, and click the little yellow icon that looks like two mountains and a sun, and paste the image location in the box and it will insert the "code" on either side of the image for you.

Ok - great schemes here - I think I shall go with this one from CorgiLover

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/2610/garden-mists-w.jpg

Lets talk about backgrounds now - which colours should be plains which should be patterns - what sort of patterns ????

lilladybug979
04-09-2008, 02:59 PM
The dark mauve or the grayish blue would be pretty done in a damask pattern.

happybeingamom
04-09-2008, 03:52 PM
I would like to see the gray as a background that is good for journaling on. Perhaps some subtle lines could be put into the paper.

SillyScrapper
04-09-2008, 04:04 PM
i like the beadspread--and think their should be a background very similiar to that. With a floral pattern, also think the green should be more solid but with a texture on it.

dawn-in-nz
04-09-2008, 04:09 PM
The two lightest colours pattern with a linen texture and slightly wrinkled, that look that you can never quite iron out!

Lauren
04-09-2008, 05:03 PM

Love those florals ---woohoo. How about a mauve background--from the flowers -- -the lighter color, but then use burn here and there to darken in places.

Kathleen
04-09-2008, 05:32 PM
I really like the pinky/rose color in the flowers. How about a background in that color, kind of a wash texture, with small, rough (not perfect edges) dots in white/cream color? All very soft feeling.

~ Kathleen

minnmom79
04-09-2008, 05:48 PM
How about a solid background in the green or the brownish color with texture like a dryer sheet.

pinky7
04-09-2008, 06:28 PM
We need something with the two brownish (tannish) colors mixed together. Choose one and some sort of pattern on the top with the other one.

Victoria
04-09-2008, 06:59 PM
The lightest green would look good in a pattern with subtle fern leaves extracted form the background in just a bit darker shade.

Victoria
04-09-2008, 07:02 PM
The lightest color would be good in a plain paper with a satin look to it. I love the floral paper. My first thought was exactly the same, pattern similar to bedspread. I love the colors you chose for this kit.

Christine
04-09-2008, 07:21 PM

Another possibility is pinstripes in the different colors.

Ok so Im really going insane but i KNOW I posted my second sample - and its disappeared - so now Im posting the third - it shows the second background as well - the second one I went with Kathleens pink dotted idea and for the third I went with Gundis green vine idea

Oh Lauren this is gorgeous! I love the papers!

Maybe the last could be in the tanish color...kinda modeled softly so it isn't too patterned. Almost like you painted it and then took a sponge and 'rubbed' some off.

I also like the slightly grunged pin striped idea if not to go in this maybe in an add on? ;)

pinky7
04-09-2008, 09:12 PM

LindaSH85
04-10-2008, 07:16 PM
most definitely something to journal on - frayed strips or folded or curled edged notepaper Or a hankie edged in the lace that lovely lace - that would make a nice journaling element

hatpin - with flower cluster and/or pearl cluster at the end

I second the wire flourish or spiral for anchoring

This is quite a lovely kit already, and it makes me think of summer mornings lazing about in bed with tea and a good book while a warm breeze rustles the curtains. So, maybe a bookmark sort of thing would be nice - either a long strip of wide ribbon to coordinate with the print or a book clip that has some of that lovely dark green in it.

Basswife26
04-10-2008, 07:39 PM
How about a crackled, antiqued overlay so that we can make the kit/elements look older?

I agree with others that some kind of journaling thingy might be good.

some kind of beads or pearls maybe... something hanging from a kind of metal ring, so it can be attached to the frame, bow or something, in the blue and pink colors..

Heather_L and Bandwife - I combined your suggestions and came up with a pin with dangly multicoloured beads

I really feel like this kit needs a flower dont you - what sort of flower ?????

How about a pale blue and maybe light green iris? Something to go with the bird and the blue beads.

How about a pansies with made up color combinations that match the kit? They are typically purple, but they would look adorable in the pinks and whites that are in this kit with the soft green leaves and stems as well.

Then I also thought of snap dragons because they are so fun an their vertical design would make them stand out.

Hydrangeas would definately be my choice for this kit but I think you've done them before. How about my previous suggestion of pale green orchids, a long trailing stem of them.

Most of these names are already used in the store - the name has to be a unique one - so before you suggest check the store
