Kim i don't have number 1 - -so it says to have a friend invite you to try it!! Could ya be my friend?????

"New to Lightroom?
You can try the Lightroom 2.0 beta for 30 days. You can also ask a friend who owns Lightroom 1 to invite you to the Lightroom 2.0 beta program. An invitation provides you with a serial number that will work through the end of the public beta in August 2008."

Upgrades....I never could keep up with them! I just downloaded the trial version of 1.4 and so far I'm liking it! So would it be suggested that I get this new version instead of 1.4?

Dagnabbit anyway:annoyed:

Hi Stormies :) 2.0 is still in Beta (testing and refinement) :) The beta version will expire in August, and I don't know when they will introduce it in the market. :)

I'll hold off for 2.0 until all the bugs are worked out.... I read that you can't transfer your catolog to the new version. That would stink big time! Right now I only have 3 folders and 3 sub folders that I've imported into 1.4.

I'm supposing there is a place that new 2.0 beta users can go to "voice" their complaints, report bugs, etc. etc. on LR 2.0

There is a forum on Lightroom 2.0 beta's website :) You can voice feedback there. :)

I think that the catalogue transfer will be in the full version - while its in beta it certainly wouldnt be a good idea to transfer your catalogue over - if the worst happened and there was a glitch you might lose it completely - I think its just for your own protection that it you have to create a new catalogue while its in BETA - remember Beta versions may not function like a full version would .

I am so bummed! After doing some research on LR 2.0 (Beta) I read that it will not integrate with PSE 4.0! Iv'e owned PSE 4 for a few years now, and as much as I would love to have CS3 I just don't have that kind of money to fork out!

Stormies, you can configure any editor to work with Lightroom, not just PS. The orgainiser might not load in on V2, but I certainly migrated my PSE4 photodata base to Lightroom.

Kim Thank you, thank you!

I have known for several months (found out about it here @ Dsp in the photography forums) that I've wanted this program! No more being fickle about the programs I want to install on my puter! Having this Beta version until August will give me a chance to come up with a keyword hierarchy plan, and actually weed out my bad photos!

Jane I do have the option to edit in PSE 4.0 not sure where it is but I know it's somewhere on the menu.:) I did have ACdsee but it was far to complicated for my brain! The interface in Lightroom is so much more user friendly than that of ACDsee. The word configure scares me a bit!...I think I need to call in the experts!

For those who downloaded Vs 2.0 Beta I found a coupla links that might be useful.

http://www.controlledvocabulary.com/ (http://www.controlledvocabulary.com/) For help with your keywording.
http://www.photoshopuser.com/lightroom2/ (http://www.photoshopuser.com/lightroom2/) Scott Kelby with some quik getting started videos.

You can call me Sonya:)

I normally right click and select edit. You might need to configure your preferred editing format, if you shot raw, as PSE is limited most of the time to 8 bit colour for editing that's what I export for editing in, but I must admit 90% of my editing is done in Lightroom now.

I'm sure loving the Beta .. just wish it weren't so expensive - I should never have tried it - what you don't know doesn't become necessary to your work flow!! :)

Just pulled this off the website for the Beta release

This download will install the Lightroom 2.0 beta and will work independently alongside your installation of Lightroom 1.3.1 (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/). The beta version is intended to provide an opportunity to give feedback and as such, does not read, upgrade or import catalogs from previous versions of Lightroom. Please continue to use Lightroom 1.3.1 for your primary workflow needs.

Amazing difference.

Most of the photos I take are underexposed, and I know if it's from my camera.
