Unfortunately, I don't have a font manager - I don't use Font Thing anymore as it did not work correctly on my computer (that's a whole different thread posted a long time ago). I am trying to find a way to see what different fonts look like on my text before actually choosing a font.

I went through my DSU110 notes and am trying to do what it says: Double-clicked on it to select it all; hit CTRL+H to hide the selection to better view the effect of the font; clicked the drop-down menu on my font choices; used my arrow keys to scroll up and down through the font choices. However, my text is not changing with each font that is highlighted. I actually have to click on the font to select it to see the change to my text, which makes the drop-down menu disappear.

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is so frustrating.

What I do is select my text layer in the layer palette. Then I highlight the entire font name in the font list and then use my arrow keys to scoll up and down through the list. The text on my LO will actually change with each tap of the arrow key so I can see exactly what I getting.

Yes, highlight the NAME of the font without opening the Drop Down menu, THEN use the arrow keys. I'll take a look at that section and make sure that's more clear. I remember struggling with that at the beginning too, always trying to scroll in the Drop Down menu.

And TFT isnt't he only font manager out there. We need a list of other free and cheap ones.

Anyone know any?

Glad you got it to work!

There are a couple other font managers out there - can't remember any names off the top of my head - try a Google search!

If you have a free weekend, you could print out samples of each font and keep a list. I'd think you could use Word and type the name of each font, then change the name to that font and print the whole list out. It'll take some time, though!
