I'm printing some Cards for my sister that I LO'ed in the 4 x 6 size. Unfortunately it has a border around it and through the middle of the card and between pictures. Printing them at a local store. Did a few test runs to see how they would look. Set them up to print at 1800 x 1200 and 1818x1228 to see what the triming would look like.
On the 1800 x 1200 the outside borders get trimmed too much so they don't look right.
The 1818 x 1228 ones print with a tiny white edge along the bottom, but the border looks great. Going to print 100 of these, so don't want to have to trim.
Someone suggested that I print at 98%, but would also get a tiny white edge.
I use CS 3---do any of you dink with the bleed and border options on the PRINT, OUTPUT popout???
Would love to hear what you do to combat the trim issues when you use a border. I just haven't figured out the right formula yet. Seems like the printer trims off about an 1/8 on 3 sides...and maybe less on the 4th side. I did a LO a few months ago, where I did not have a border...but had stripes running through a rectange the width of the LO...and had similar issues. Wanted to get the stripes lined up that were on the edges.
Do you extend the canvas and fill with your background color, print at 98%, set your guide lines up a special way?
Thank you....
