Quick, easy, and cheap, all huge plusses in my book! - slip your photos into these dear little pages (3.5 x 2.5 in), print, (I fitted 2 to a photo sized paper) slip each into one of those badge holders sold for conferences, (see picture below) thread a thin ribbon through the holes, tie on some colour coordinated ribbons, maybe a charm or two and you are done - you have a very cute, pretty badge album for your bag, pocket or purse!

I have been working on the beach album and I have to say, these little albums are absolutely the cutest things ever!!!! I did some searching online here in the U.S. and found the badge holders very inexpensively at many of the office supply stores, such as Office Depot, Office Max and Staples. Generally, they were $10 for a pack of 50 or so. Instead of ordering online, I am going to check our local retailers and see if I can save on the shipping costs. I have many old photos that I have wanted to use, but the quality is so poor, they would not stand up to any type of enlargement. These little albums will allow me to reduce the size of the photos and still produce a memory album that will be darling to give as a gift, or stick in my handbag!!! What an awesome idea Meryl!!!!

P.S. With some of my high quality photos, I plan on enlarging the album pages to a height of 4". The length will be a bit short of 6", but I think they will work fine in a
4" x 6" album. I have several of these that I got for paper crafting and have never used!

Love these Meryl.

Being in the middle of organising a conference, you might also want to check companies that sell promotional materials for conferences.

I usually scrap in 6x4 for brag books so I used the sample and enlarged it to that size; I'll either trim a little from the side or *stretch* it ever so slightly. They are very cheap to print at this size - usually 15 cents or less - and the brag books are as low as $1 each. I've always got one or two in my purse and love giving them as gifts! These are perfect for me! Thanks Meryl!!!

Question for you Meryl:
I just downloaded the freebie to give these little cuties a try:

If I create a 12x12 LO in PSE 5.0, I can put a bunch of these onto one 12x12 page, print out the entire page, then, cut out each little page and slide them into the badge holders, right???

I hope my thinking is right, because I just love these!!

Thanks, Donna

Meryl might have a different answer for you, but I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work. The only caution I can think of is to make sure that you retain the exact size of each of the individual album pages when you place them on a 12 x 12 page. That will guarantee that they print exactly the right size. (3.5" x 2.5")

Meryl - How about creating templates for us so that we can place the album pages on a 12 x 12, an 8.5 x 11, and a 4 x 6 printed page? By my calculations, 12 pages would fit on a 12 x 12 page with 3 across and 4 down.

Great idea Sandy! Meryl, can we please, please have those templates?

These Pocket Albums are just Awesome! I made one for my mom for mother's day. I reduced the size to 2x3 (without losing any of Meryl's great design), and I was able to get the album printed as a mini book. Snapfish offers the little books for $5.99 for 24 pages. These mini albums make wonderful gifts! I even ordered one for myself. I also resized Meryl's Family album to 4x6 and had it made into a flip spiral bound book for my MIL. Meryl's Pocket Album pages make it so easy to create beautiful, personalized albums!

I am now back from holiday - what a wonderful 10 days we had! I tried so hard to take my photo printer with me, wanted to make up my little Album in my pocket of travel pics whilst caravaning in the bush, but sadly could not get a new ink cartridge in time :( - I have now completed my album - it you'd like to look it is here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=258744&ppuser=24)

I have another couple of pages of the photos we took, Baby Zebra (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=258815&ppuser=24) and 10 Days in Zululand (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=258651&ppuser=24)

I am so thrilled to see how many of you are enjoying the Albums in My Pocket! I am loving seeing the results in the gallery.

Snapfish does the flip books and the 2x3 mini books. I haven't had my flip made yet, but my 2x3 book has already been shipped. I'll upload a photo when I get it.

Oh I am just loving these!!! I so enjoy looking at everyone's albums! They are all so cute!

We have been talking about new themes and ways of using these mini-albums in some of Meryl's chats. We've asked her for:

Memories in My Pocket
Ancestors in My Pocket
Birthday in My Pocket
Wedding in My Pocket
ABCs in My Pocket
Zoo in My Pocket
Grad in My Pocket
Baby in My Pocket
Pets in My Pocket
Generic teen girl and/or boy
Teacher/school theme
Christmas/Easter/holiday

and we've talked about using them for:

Mother's Day Gifts for moms and grandmas
gift for shut in or nursing home residents
gift for teachers
party bag gift for kids birthday party
devotional with favorite Bible verses
recipes (might be too small)
kids workbook (colors, shapes, ABCs, etc)
address book with pictures

There are just tons of uses!!!

Although she made them to be printed the badge holder size so you can get 2 per page of photo paper, I have used them and printed them in 6x4 size with great success. The 6x4 size is cheap to print (15 cents at WalMart) and the small brag books are $1-2 at the dollar store. I have put all three sets into one brag book for Jake and called it My Favorite Places. I used the beach for his Kalahari (indoor water park) pics, the travel for African Safari Wildlife Park pics, and the family set for his Train-o-Rama pics! He carries it everywhere with him!!!

Right now, no... I am not busy with any. If I am going to be totally honest, sales were really not as good as I had hoped? I wonder if many did not "get" the concept? However, work was certainly not wasted, i made lots of groupies etc out of them.

That said I really do want to do a few more themes - Christmas, wedding and baby are probably top of the list? maybe something more general? not themed?

Bummer! The albums were such a hit with everyone that I gave them to as gifts....maybe you're right ~ people just didn't "get it."
Personally, I wouldn't use the wedding & baby (I'm well beyond both! LOL), but I would use birthday, summer fun, sport-specific.
I'll keep my eyes open for any new additions. Thanks for your response.
