View Full Version : A Virtual Trip Around the World challenge!
Here's a challenge to get you scrapping about where you live!
This can be about your hometown, or your general area if you aren't comfortable sharing that info. Even just about your state or country!
Let's see if we can get all 50 States represented and count up the number of countries!
Show us why you love your area! Tell us facts about it, show us pictures. Tell us any stats, etc. Use any kit- anything goes!
This is a great way to get familiar with other areas of the country/world. Think of what an interesting challenge this will be! Even seeing the different types of architecture will be cool!
I'm a big fan of a show on HGTV here in the states called House Hunters International, its amazing to see different homes, how things are set up, like in England the laundry is often in the kitchen, in Holland in the bathroom, and here in the states in it's own room! Lauren's stove in NZ is completely different than mine, etc.
This will remain an open challenge, but to qualify for a random prize your layout must be uploaded to the Virtual Trip Around the World Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=5837) by midnight Sat. May 3rd, 2008 (Inter)National Scrapbook Day.
Have fun and can't wait to see your little piece of the globe!

Nicole, it sounds like you live out the back of Canberra. :)
Australia is very rural. :)
OK - I went on a photo drive, on my way to the coast last week, and I took a set of pictures of a country town, Braidwood, between Canberra and the coast. I have been meaning to scrap them, and now I have a reason.

I live in an area called Virginia, Durban North. Umhlanga is less than 10 minutes drive from me - and it is where I mostly grew up. Durban, and its immediate suburb's Berea and Morningside - where my Children go to school is about 15 minutes away.
So - this left hand page is dedicated to our favourite Beach, uShaka Marine World (Wet n Wild, Aquarium & Dolphinarium), Botanic Gardens and one of my favourites - the Jacaranda Trees in bloom at my childrens school.

Congrats to the winners (didn't even realize there was a drawing...lol). I sure enjoyed seeing everyone's layouts and I think these were some of the best layouts I've ever seen on here. Very clean and eyecatching. It definitely made me want to take even more pictures of Alaska!
