Oh My Word! This is a 4-week long challenge with a different theme each week. You can decide whether you want to create a layout for one or all four of the weekly challenges it’s totally up to you. However, if you do enter all four weekly challenges you’ll be in the random draw at the end of the month for a store coupon to the value of $3.99.

UPDATE:
It was decided at the chat that those who wanted to could do a LO at anytime for any week during that month, you could even do all four weekly events together as long as they are in before the end of the week 4 date by midnight. I must have a link in the thread though.

For those of you who can, don’t forget to attend Erica’s Everyday Events (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31602) chat 8pm Fridays EST (DSP Time). You’ll get my chat freebie and also a heads up of the prompts for that weeks theme and you can start some scrapping while we chat.

Some really simple rules:
Please use only DSP products
Ploppers and QC’s are OK
Must include some journaling or themed title
Your LO can be ANY style, even a none traditional style, a style all your own, in fact, let your hair down and go creatively wild!
You can have any number of photos or none at all
Your LO can do double duty as long as you put a link in the forum for that week, especially if you intend to do all four challenges. How will I know to include you in the draw otherwise
Please comment generously on other member’s layouts in this challenge. I know I don’t really need to ask you that because you’re all so good at it anyway.DSP Members ROCK!!Each week will have its own forum with the start and finish date/times. Upload the current weeks challenge to the Oh! My Word (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=5864) gallery for each weeks challenge.

Weeks 1 and week 4 will have a selection of prompts for you to choose from.
Weeks 2 and week 3 will have only one prompt.

Here are the weekly themes:

Week 1 - Answer me this… a thought provoking challenge that will have you creating something a little bit different to your everyday layouts. It will give your family and future generations a very different slant on the person you are/were.

Week 2 - Oh my word! This week you will be given a WORD, just one, that you have to include in the title of your layout. For example, lets say the chosen word is TIME; I might have a title something like this “TIME and tide wait for no man” or “She has a TIMELESS Beauty that is always admired”. So you see you can extend the word to include all its possible meanings.

Week 3 - Tall Tales… is all about story telling, but not in the normal journaling sense, we will be using different categories to tell our stories. For example the prompt might be something like – ‘bad hair days’ were you tell a story in your LO about your worst or best hairstyle, or trip to the hairstylist or little Johnny getting gum stuck in his hair – you get the idea! Photos would be great with this LO so we all get to laugh at – hummm I mean admire your hairstyle.

Week 4 - Happines is… Happiness is…very subjective and so, although I’ll give you a selection of prompts, you don’t have to use any of them, you can substitute your own. Some Happiness is... prompts that come to mind – seeing others enjoying something you created… kid’s imaginations… fresh strawberry pie made on a graham cracker crust…

I hope you enjoy this month long challenge and I’m really excited to see your creations – think outside the box with these and pull out all stops on your creativity.

Ask any questions in the weekly theme forums if you need help or clarification.

I missed the chat by a mere 2 minutes - oh well next time! Will there be a chat next week with the Waiheke Island Retreat or not?

Erica

So sorry you missed the chat Jennifer and next week there will be no chat as I am away on Waiheke Island for our Kiwi/Aussie Chat. The 23 May will be our for the next EEE chat.

I noticed you mentioned at your chat this morning that this weeks challenge is to incorporate the word Simplicity in my layout, does that mean that I have missed the first week in this month long challenge with the "Answer me this challenge"?

Hi Carolyn - If the double duty is with a designer exclusive challenge you must put it in there otherwise you'll miss out on the freebie posting bonus :yikes: , if not it's up to you. I just need a link here as you've done. Thanks :)

So what are are prompts for week 3 Erica? I like to make notes so that I can keep track of my challenges, and seeing as it's Monday, I'm looking to find my prompts and challenges for this week.

Erica

Each week I put up a new thread for that week and you'll find them in the main Oh! My Word forum - here is the link for week 3 (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31788) and this is where the main forum (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=635) is located. Hope this helps...:)

The June challenge will be starting with Week 1 again on the 3 June so check back here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=635) then. I've moved some of my layouts from the Oh My Word gallery to the Scrappy galleries. Is that okay? Should I do anything else?

Erica
06-24-2008, 11:22 PM
Normally, as long as you have a link in the forum it doesn't matter where it's posted, except if you've done the layout using the EEE challenge kit and then I need to see the actual layout in that gallery. I don't want to miss handing out the posting bonus to you and the EEE gallery is the ONLY place I look... See the exception below

**NOTE**If you've entered the scrappies using the EEE challenge kit then send me a pm with the link, the scrappies are a one time annual event so you will need your LO to appear there for voting. :D

Thanks for the links - that's just what I need for the end of the month tally - I hope you manage to do week 3 then you'll be in the draw for a 3.99 coupon.

Erica

New Rules: Each week will still have it’s own forum but there will be no specific start and end date for each week, you’ll have the whole month do all 4 layouts in whatever order you want or even just do one layout for the whole month, it’s up to you. But remember the same rule applies to be in the draw for a $3.99 coupon at the end of the month – you must have submitted 4 layouts (1 for each week and placed a link in that weeks forum. Your LO can do double, triple, whatever duty as long as I have a link in the weekly forum. :)
