Hi All! I tried traditional scrapbooking quite a few years ago but never really got committed to doing it. I recently became a mother (3 mo. old baby girl) and this of course renewed my interest. As I am married to a System Administrator and am fairly computer savvy myself digital scrapbooking seemed to be the natural way to go. As I have been doing some research on the web, looking at all the different sites etc. it definitely makes the most sense to me with all the tools and elements that are available and they won't add stuff to an already over-stuffed house. I will be working on Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements as my husband already had Photoshop and I recently purchased Elements so I could learn a little bit quicker. Thanks and I look forward to learning from and with you all!

Since you've already heard from two of DSP's designers, it probably won't come as a surprise to know that this website is really an extended family. We get to know each other through the threads, through "meeting" each other's families in the gallery, plus many of us have now arranged to meet in person during travels or digital crops.

I'm a long-time computer user (teaching in the early 70s) and simply couldn't get into the paper scrapping -- not to mention the cost and the mess. I had tons of people after me to scrap and I kept saying, "When I can do it on the computer, I'll be a scrapper." Then I discovered DSP!! In addition to being my cyber-home, this site is also my main research tool for anything to do with graphics programs, images, cameras, hardware, software.....you name it. People are VERY knowledgeable on this site and always willing to help.

As you can see, Meryl lives in South Africa and Erica lives in New Zealand. We also have a lot of Aussies, Canadians, Brits, and others which is just great fun. I think most (?) of us are located in the U.S. but don't know if that's true any more. And there are lots of SoCal people here.

With a new baby, this probably isn't an option but you might want to check out DSP's next digi-crop to be held at..................Adobe Headquarters in San Jose!!!! :yahoo: Link is at Adobe Crop (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29498).

I'm feeling chatty today -- nothing at all to do with the mountain of laundry sitting within eyesight. Oh well....gotta do it. :annoyed:

Welcome and have fun!!

Hello.
Excited to be here. I am a real newbee. I have been wanting to learn working with digital for my cards. I have paint shop pro and photo elements programs. I used to know a lot more about working with them then I do now. I was active in taking some lessions. It seems I have forgotten most of it now. Well just wanted to say Hi to everyone.
