Ok we're thinking of moving to Va or West Va. Are there any grannys here that live there? And if so..tell me what you love about living there. We took a trip down as south as woodstock and just Loved Va. I want to live up close and snug the mountains. So the flatlands are out. I also need to work in a nice hospital..so help me out grannysssss!!! =)

Hi there,
I'm not a grannie, but wanted to say that I live in WV and have been to VA many times. One place that comes to mind is Smith Mountain Lake. DH and I went there while on our honeymoon and fell in love with the mountains, folliage and it's quiet beauty. I did a Google search for hospitals and found a little about Carilion. I also looked up Abingdon, as it is a wonderful place and found these Hospitals (http://www.google.com/search?q=abingdon+va+hosptials&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a)
I hope this helps.

Aww thanks Missaboo! Where in West VA do you live? We are willing to look there too. My main thing is we really want to live close to the mountains. Or tucked up in one =) You know what I mean. Hubby said he wants to live on Waltons Mountain LOL!!!

Hi,
I live near Richmond, because my it's husband's hometown and I can't pry him free. ( was raised in the country in TX.)haha. I camp often along the Blue Ridge and especially at Sherando. It is beautiful and small towns in the mountains. Lots of winter weather. Charlottesville, Va is probably the most apt to have hospitals, universities, but it is expensive to live there. Check the taxes here first....lots of taxes. VA is a beautiful state, no doubt.
Good luck, Jean
