Restoring your layouts to the Gallery

Any gallery images posted since August are gone. The gallery posts themselves are intact, so you will not need to reupload a NEW layout, just edit your gallery post.

Simple steps below....

Click on the layout you want to add your photo to.

Click the edit photo link.

Browse for your new photo.

Submit changes.

You are done!

I couldn't get one of my lo's to load back in -- it's the one in the January Sketch forum. Got an error message as follows (tried several times):

That gallery should be working now. Please let me know if there are any others you having problems with. Especially albums.

I am restoring my pages to the gallery. For at least two of them so far, I upload it, and it shows as a red X. The thumbnail will show okay, but when you click on the thumbnail, the larger image will show as a white box with a red x. Underneath, it says "Click here for larger image", and when you click that it opens a new page, and the large image is there. I have tried re-uploading the photo over and over again. Specifically the Sunrise layout and I think the wedding layout are doing this...

This same exact thing is happening to me. I see my pictures as a thumb nail, but only get the red x when I open it up. It appears to be happening to things I loaded to the photography gallery.

Mandy some of mine did that, but as soon as i clicked in the place when the LO should have been it seemed to restore. Sorry can't be more helpful. So glad to see you active again after your own personal crash drama!

you should see thumbnails, and you may get a red X on the layout if you click it. this is the medium image that is no longer created when you upload. if you click on that you should see the large image. the medium images will all be deleted later this week, so all the dreaded red Xs should disappear! now if you don't see a thumbnail even, your reupload hasn't worked. post a link to the gallery you're trying to upload to so we can check it for you. thanks!

Margie - thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately I am not even getting thumbnails although it "seems" like the upload has gone through. Thanks for checking this out for me! Here is a link to my (small) gallery). I have only uploaded the first 2 layouts so far although it looks like I have done nothing...

that gallery should be working. can you check the files you're trying to reupload? many people have had trouble, but they were actually trying to upload the large files, not the websized versions...

I was able to reload most of the pictures to my gallery, except for 3, all of which were originally posted on Monday, January 17, 2005. I have checked that the size of the photos is less than the limit, they are all 600 x 600 jpg files like most of my other layouts that I successfully reloaded. All of them gave me the message that the photo had been successfully loaded, but it is still showing the gallery as the Tsunami Relief Fundraiser instead of My Gallery, and it is still showing the original name of the layout file (instead of the new name I gave the file as a test when I tried to upload it. I changed the name so I would know if the file was truly being uploaded or not....it isn't.) The very first time it failed, it gave a database error message, and said that an email was being sent to the site admins. Please help me...these three are among my most favorite layouts and I really would like to get them reloaded without losing people's comments. Thank you! i was able to edit the quick crop layout in your gallery. i think the problem is we had that gallery closed to uploads (since it's over), but since many are still reuploading, we'll just open that back up. if you want to edit them now, you should be all set. sorry about that! :)
