Does anyone use those protective cover things for your lcd monitor to protect it from scratches? My older digital camera has some scratches on the lcd monitor (it could be rotated to turn the monitor in toward the camera for protection when not in use) but I was always scared to apply the plastic cover for protection (worried it would leave a sticky residue if I ever wanted to remove it). I got a new camera, a Panasonic Lumix TZ5, and the lcd monitor doesn't have a cover/can't be rotated in towards camera like the older camera, so I'm wondering if it needs to be protected or if the plastic cover things (adhesive?) are good or bad to use?
Thanks :)

I believe most of those protectors stick with a static cling rahter than some kind of adhesive so there should be no residue - i could be wrong though

Good question and I wish I knew the answer :) I have used it on my little point and shoot camera, but haven't tried to remove it yet, so don't know what'll happen, and I hesitate to use it on my new camera until someone assures me it won't hurt more than it helps!

I took mine off my camera because it was getting in the way of viewing my photo's, i work with children so little fingerprints were all over it. that was a huge mistake now the lens isn't scratched but very smugged, i actually put clear tape over it, and it worked when i took it off all i had to do was rub off the adhesvie that was on the sides a little bit.
