and for tina, after a few days offline, she'll probably need some hugs!!

You're right, Tina, it really shouldn't be allowed, but welcome to my world of 28000kbps!
It's horrific especially when trying to download all the wonderful kits and such!!
Hugs to you in your time of modem-less-ness?!?!??!?
See you soon!

It's awfully quiet around here without Tina! Miss ya girl! Hope that modem gets there Tuesday! If not Monday! Hang in there!
At 24kbs, you could probably drive to my place, use mine, drive back home and still take less time than staying at the IL's
Lori! I shoulda tried that!
I'm currently at my parents who have, like me, lovely high speed!!!!
Still no modem for me, of course. It seems like its been ages, but it really hasn't. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday! wow! 4 days!!! And 2 more to go minimum!
So, what have I done in those days? Lets see:
Tate had a friend over to swim
my SIL was visiting from out of state and I showed her the basics of digi scrap
went to my ILs for supper (re: scary slow speed post)
went to see Wall.E
went to church.
OH! and made FOUR KITS and 1 add on pack! :D:D:D:D
and about 100 Buckeyes too ;) yummers.
Hope to see y'all soon!!! ((kisses))

Isn't dial up the one that makes that cool connecting sound though.....kinda of miss that! Nothing like hearing that sound after waiting for the modem to connect!

Ooooh, Tina, we get quite a silver lining from this tragedy!
Can't wait to see them :-)
Bet your SIL is totally hooked. Does she realize what an incredible mentor she has to get her started?

You made 4 kits? That's incredible! Dif you make them all today or over the last 4 days? Impressive in any case.
Okay.....ummm...I feel really dumb considering I live in a state next door to you.....but what in the heck are buckeyes? Sure - I know it's the nickname for OSU, but other than that, I don't know what they actually are. From your comment, I suppose it's something to eat. Not the eyeballs of deer I hope. That doesn't sound so yummy. Is it a vegetable? Or is it a candy made to resemble a buckeye (again...whatever that is). I am thinking of something like Irish Potatoes, which are coconut candy rolled in cinnamon power.

Sandy, buckeyes is probably some foreign southern food group that we wouldn't understand :p and in most likely an acquired taste....

Oh Sandy - you've not had a buckeye??? They are yummy! It's a chocolate covered peanut butter ball. They get their name because they look like the fruit from a buckeye tree. Somewhere Margie once uploaded a fabulous photo of them :D
ETA: oh I had to go find that photo for you because I had to get my fix.

Oh and yes June - definitely as for the buckeyes! That reminds me I need to send off an email to my mom to ask her if she'd made up a batch the next time we visit.

What kind of router do you have? You might have to factory reset it then follow the installation instructions all over again. I had problems with mine when I got my new computer and just threw in the towel and bought a new one - but even with that, I found I had to follow the instructions to the letter, right down to connecting which wire when and where, before it would finally play nice with the modem and computer. Good luck - at least you have one 'puter working so you can come play with us!! :yahoo:

I'm here! I'm here!
Gail, its a Linksys and I have no idea where the instructions are!
Mine's a Linksys too. The quick installation guide tells you to put the cd-rom in, then do start setup, and follow the rest of the instructions on the screen.
What I DO remember it doing is having me hook the modem directly up to the PC during the set up - because the wizard searches for and I assume records your modem settings and IP address and all that jazzy stuff to transfer to the router. Then it has you transfer the ethernet cable from either the PC or modem to the router and add the second ethernet cable to the other, where it finishes its wizardry and voila you should have a working router. I didn't have to do anything else for my wireless either.
So you probably need the CD or maybe you can download the wizard from their site. Also I would say do exactly what they tell you about moving/plugging in the ethernet cables - I was stubborn and kept trying to do it the opposite way and it never worked until I followed the instructions to the nickel. You might have to factory reset it too. Good luck, I'm cheering for you!!:yahoo::yippee::yahoo:
I have the CD gail, but it didnt work! When DH tried that, it removed the net connection on the one PC we had it on!
