I've been considering buying an inexpensive font editor to create some of my own fonts. Anybody here do this? Seems very cool and fun too.

I don't, but its something I've always wanted to try.

I know that Suzanne made a few last year. Not sure which program she used. Fontographer, I think........

I haven't tried, though looked into Fontographer

here's a message from Shellie, she makes lots of handwriting fonts for a fee
"I use scan font. They have a tutorial with their software. you can do the free trial with them, you just can't export the font you make unless you buy the program. www.fontlab.com hth"

I purchased Data Becker's "Your Handwriting" a couple of years ago and enjoyed creating my own handwriting (editing the letters to fit together took quite awhile) -- but it didn't want to work with Windows XP. I was able to correct this finally, but don't think their website is up yet (no updates). I've also created a font using CorelDraw. It's all time consuming to figure out the program, but once that's done, I had fun with it.

I don't know which one to recommend, however there are some popular programs that allow download and a trial. Hopefully others will jump in and tell their experiences as there are several who scrapbook and also create fonts.

I do. I've used the program you mentioned & it sucks. I also use fontographer & the Font Creator Program from high-logic. I prefer the latter program, though fontographer is great for dingbats that don't need much playing around with.
