I have been using PSE5 on a PC but will probably have a MAC within the next fortnight. I am wondering how to transfer all my kits over to the new computer - as you can see I have limited computer knowledge!! If I save them all onto my external hard drive can I then download them onto the MAC?
Also, I have all my kits, fonts, alphas etc organised in ACDSee Pro, which I find so handy for previewing when I am scrapping. Is there a version of this program for a MAC?
Many thanks for any advice and assistance.
Sandra
Congratulations on moving to a Mac -- you'll love it! :D There will be a short adjustment period but it will be much more painless than you think.
Unfortunately ACDSee isn't available for the Mac. Most people use iPhoto, which comes with the computer. Apple's applications work seamlessly on the Mac so it's worth looking into the programs that are built into the operating system.
For your kits, etc., just drag the folders or files from your EHD into either the Pictures or Documents folder on your Mac. It's very easy to transfer files because you just drag them to the folder you want to use. (The EHD will show up as an icon on the Mac desktop.)
Main advice I would give for switching to Mac is not to overanalyze it. If you get stuck, just ask yourself what would be logical and it will usually work. Those of us who use Mac are in the minority on DSP so feel free to PM or start a thread if you get stuck. :D

I am also using a Mac, and still looking at programs. I was considering PSE for the Mac. Do you have any suggestions?
