I am considering trying PICASA, since so many people here use it. But before I install it, I have a question.

When it installs, does it "take over" file associations for image files without giving you the option to tell it what you want? I tried a program a while back (I forget the name of it), and it took over all my image files and associated all of them with that program, without giving me the option to tell it what files to associate with that program. I was no longer able to click on an image file and have it open in the program I had wanted associated with those files. It took me forever to get my computer back to where I wanted the file associations.

Thanks.

Debi

No it doesnt take over any file associations. YOu know you can choose yourself which programme to associate which files with by right clicking on any of those files - select open with- choose programme - browse to the programme you want that file type associated with - make sure you click the box at the bottom ( always open with this file type) .

Thank you, Lauren.

And, yes, I know that now, LOL, but at the time, I was very new to doing graphics on the computer. It's just a pain when it happens. :)
