Oh, Sands.. those photos are fantastic...

They are so lucky to have you as their photographer...

I have to admit, I begged grandma Crys, to MAKE you by me mentor the next mentoring session.. I even used a fake name and everything.. But, she's one smart cookie and caught on to me... and, she dashed my hopes.. drats..

And, she said photography wasn't a program... What, I said, It's the biggest part of what we do..

She still said, no, and she said, she'd knock me down if you did start mentoring, and, crawl over my dead body, so she could be first in line..

Now, I ask, what kind of attitude it that... sweet nice Grandma Crys..

And, this week we find out she drinks, hangs out in bars, smokes cigars, and, now this.. that she'd knock people over.. to get her place in line.. hmm, you have to woner about some people..

thanks :).... and :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Today I am happy... and sad.

Happy cause my little boy is so happy. Today is his birthday. His 13th.

Sad cause I am now the mother of TWO teenagers. No babies left in this house. I don't care so much about no babies, hate the crying anyways (LOL!), but these are MY babies, and it makes me incredibly sad that one is 16 and leaving home in just a couple months to a dorm. Even though she'll only be about an hour and a half down the road.. and and it makes me really sad that my little boy is now a teenager. It means soon he'll be in high school and growing up and leaving too. I woke up really sad. I put on the happy face in front of him though. But he said "are you happy it's my birthday?" .. I told him I was happy he's alive and well and has made it to another birthday, that he's mature and responsible and a really loving and respectful kid.... but that I'm a little sad cause he's no longer a baby. He said "well, you can just pretend Im not a teenager if you want to".... ahaha. Then he laughed and said "besides, babies get cool stuff all the time... even when it's not their birthday. I'm cool with staying the baby in the house!"

hahahahaha..... he's such a funny kid. I love them both so much!

Happy 13th Birthday Kevin!!!!! Welcome to the land of attitudes and acne!! LOL!

Im just a sap, stitch.... I'm incredibly close to both of my kids, probably more so than lots of parents/kids and I think it's because of the life we have lived together as a family, having to stay strong for eachother and really be there for eachother... especially the last 7 years or so with the war going on, DH was only home less than 12 weeks a year... he'd go away for about 9-10 months straight and then home for a short time and then off again. We all really had to lean on eachother during those hard times, the scary phone calls, etc. My friends think this is why me and the kids are exceptionally close... I hope it stays this way forever, but I know it probably wont as they get older..bummer.

Yes, I went from Vista to W7, but I don't think you need to be too concerned about the upgrade. My problems are mostly due to USB & printer driver issues that I've had on the computer since I got it. The problems I had with the upgrade itself had to do with items that were not compatible (Itunes, one of my printers, and a couple other programs I never used) so I uninstalled the Itunes and the stuff I never used and then reinstalled the Itunes with the most current version after the W7 installed. It just took me a bit to figure all that out. But W7 did a compatibility report that I printed out that told me everything that was having a problem, so that helped.

Dear Gundi Girls,
I have a confession to make.

I have this rare disease that causes my body to emit an electro-magnetic field that causes all computers and electronic things to die in my presence. It has been well documented in my house and I have caused the premature deaths of more computers, hard drives, cordless phones etc. than I care to admit. It's kind of a computer curse.

I'm afraid my joining the Gundi thread may be the cause of everyones computer problems. Apparently my powers transmit through the internet and chat forums.

Maybe if I go away everyones computers will start working again. . .

So, I suppose my coming to Montana is out of the question.

I will go back to my hole now.

nothing wrong with being a sap! I was thinking that if my DD was going away to college next year I would be feeling the same way as you about the birthday thing. But the life you live as a military family makes a huge difference too. I think it is so wonderful that you are so close to your kids. My DD has one more year of HS and then I will be coming to you for advice on how to deal with her leaving for college. I am dreading it already.

I was in my jammies all day yesterday and I didn't get anything done! I love those days sometimes.

So, the new house story is... I have 2 houses to choose from, kinda! I had someone go look at the 5 bedroom house this morning and they really liked it! Then she also told me about a house in her area. I called that lady and we talked and she thinks her husband will give us a good deal if they know we will take care of the house. The funny part of the story is.... the owner of the house with 4 bedrooms and the property management lady of the 5 bedroom house both know each other, so they were a little surprised that is was their 2 houses I was looking at. Did any of that make sense?

I know I can't go wrong with either house, so do I want more bedrooms or more family area??? OR maybe the owners of the 5 bedroom house won't approve our application so I won't have to choose!

I feel a lot better about them since someone saw them for me and know that they are a good area and look good!

oh either sounds good, although the 5 bedroom has more room for old friends from UT. :D Although on the other hand, if friends come, there will probably not be much sleeping happening due to all the playing.

Hey!!! you have a new MAC, why are you hogging all the tech support time. :annoyed::annoyed:

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Don't be so hard on yourself. The Gundi Girls have been having "issues" long before you got here.:rofl::rofl:

shhhhhh don't tell her that, we might have been able to get new "guilt" computers out of her or something.

LOL, jammies to sweats sounds like a nice easy transition. I thought I was going to be better today, but I've been feeling crummier instead. I think I need to go change from my jeans to sweats. That might help me feel better

:hug::hug: Sorry you still feel yucky.

Hi everyone! Hope everyone's having a good start to their weekend. Mine's going okay so far. I'm staying in tonight in hopes that I will make it out on what's supposed to be a BEAUTIFUL day tomorrow so I can go to the St. Paddy's Day Parade! I've been feeling pretty good the past few days, so I'm crossing my fingers that keeps up. Gosh knows I would love to get some pics of all the festivities! I think I'll be without many panic attacks if I just keep telling myself that people will be drunk, so I don't have to worry about being self-conscious. LOL

Well, there's not much more here to report. Hope everyone's doing well...and have a great weekend! :D

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have been travelling all day so I just got to read all your responses. LOL! I was sitting here cracking up!

But Mark said that you all might think it's funny, but I've got issues! He doesn't like me to ever touch his computer.

I am actually having problems myself now. PSE is running soooo slow I can barely stand it. I am using about half of my hard drive, but it looks like about 80% of my RAM. So I need to figure something out. Should I add memory, or add a hard drive? Or both?

I've only had this computer for a little over a year and it's already had 3 major repairs. They replaced the memory in the first couple of months. Then the power supply and USB ports. Then in December I got a new hard drive.

I get my money's worth out of those Geek Squad service plans! If I have one more major repair they consider my computer a lemon and I'll get a new one! So maybe I should be hoping for something big to fail!:lol:

Addicted, I'm so glad things are working out with your house! Sounds like you have some great options!

Christine, I LOVE the new kits! They really turned out great! Onto my wish list!

Have a great weekend girls!!!

If you can get a new one out of the Geek Squad - I 'd do it maybe a lemon

OR make them explain to you WHY it's running so darn slow

If you are not satisfied with their answer don't ask - demand to talk to a manager.

and, not back in the manager office - out front so others can hear.. they don't like that so much.. they don't want new customers to be hearing bad stories about ONE YEAR OLD COMPUTERS... I'd say that part a lot...

I think they will make it right by you..

Can you tell, I've done this before.. I have.. and, I have had friends that have... and, it works..

Now, if they tell you that your computer is not large enough (RAM, hard drive, video card, etc.) to handle what you are doing with Photoshop, etc...

Well, then that's a different issue.. and, what can you do to upgrade it.. (your existing one.. )....

Christy how much RAM do u have? If it is only a year old I would doubt it is the processor cuz my desktop is at least 3 years old (dual core) and runs CS4 just fine and I almost always also have firefox, yahoo messenger and windows explorer open. Plus I am running some HUGE files since I do an entire VC in a single file. They end up being 1-2 gig by the time I am done. Speaking of which did u know that red takes up more space than other colors? If I do a red kit it is always on the biggest end. Weird huh?!

Ok, if RED takes up the most space

Have you figured out WHICH tool takes up the most energy...

Like why is Laura Backward, having CS4 problems only with the ERASER tool? No others... too weird.. What is so different about that one tool

not the brush or any other tool that uses brushes.. so, it's not like she has a zillion brushes..

hmm, you have to say.

Christy, if you can get a replacement from BB, then do it, but good luck. DH definitely has a lemon. He has taken his back 4 or 5 times and they just won't replace it. By now they have spent more money on parts and labor than they would have on a new laptop.

I woke up this morning feeling rough, but a shower did wonders for me. I'm hoping getting outside and getting some fresh air will do me good too. Have a good weekend everybody.

yeah no kidding that is odd! When I very first got cs4, it was so odd cuz any of the brush tools would only show the outline to the brush until they got so big, then I could only see the upper left portion, which was so NOT helpful. We reinstalled and updated the drivers on my monitor and somewhere in that combo it got fixed.

hmmm.... that's weird about red. I wonder why that is... just cuz red is so awesome?

Gosh you guys weren't very chatty today, what's the matter you were all out with a life? I was hauling tile.......say what? you ask? well I had to decide what kind of tile I want in my bathroom so I went to a bunch of different tile stores. I didn't even LOOK at the $4 or $5 a square foot tiles, cuz I knew I would find something I just had to have, so I tried to stay looking at the $1-$2 ones, but ohhhhhh I found this one that I REALLY like. Eeeek! is $2.89 between $1 and $2? I hauled home about 15 different tiles at one time or another seeing how they worked in my bathroom. The funny thing is both girls looked at them all and picked the $2.89 one too. Part of the reason it is more is cuz it is porcelain, which I don't think I really need in a bathroom, but the great thing is it is a mix of colors shades of salmon, cream, yellow, brown, white and has a bit of texture, kinda all muted and swirled together. Unfortunately my 2nd favorite is the 2nd most expensive. :o:o:o:o:o

I have 3G of RAM. My Dad and I were trying to figure out what's wrong today. We think, for whatever reason, that the problem might be Mozy. It just doesn't make any sense. I was running Mozy before (nothing I'm running now is any different). But the problems seem to have started when I put Mozy back on my system last week. I'm not sure. . . It's just so frustrating!

3GB of RAM should not be the problem and don't even bother going up if you have XP cuz it can only utilize a max of 3GB, regardless of how much you shove in there.

I'm running Vista, which I understand people have a lot of problems with. I haven't had major problems with Vista, that I know of. All of my problems have been hardware.

I was due to post my DET entry and the deadline was close. Well she practiced and kicked me out of the chatroom! Not only was I unable to get back into the chatroom, but it banned me from the site!

Ok, I'm losing it here.

There is definitely something wrong, but I can't figure out what. PSE is running so slow. It works for a while, but it keeps getting back to the point where when you move something you have to wait for 20 seconds before it actually moves. You know?

Is it possible i have too much on my computer? My hard drive is about 1/2 full. I'm using 254Gb of 464Gb. According to Task Manager my "physical memory" is currently at 48%. It's been anywhere from 20-80% today.

I just want to cry. I'm so sick of this stuff! UGH!

ETA - A week or two ago Adobe downloaded an update. It quit in the middle and PSE totally stopped working. I kept getting this error message and I tried a system restore, but ended up uninstalling and reinstalling PSE.

Also, the weirdest thing just happened. I'm using Lauren's Promises kit and when I just rotated one of the filmstrips around it my layout it gained a white background. When that happened it was a "smart object" cause I pulled it in from the project bin instead of copying and pasting. But once I simplified it I was able to rotate it without that happening.

There are some weird, wild things going on in here!

Christy, seriously it is hard to say who was panicking more, Sandy or me. I was trying to figure out how to tell Margie and the other designers that it was my fault Sandy didn't have her LO in on time. I had NO idea that it would kick her off the site. I told her I was going to do it and we both thought she could just come back in. She starts talking to me on yahoo, saying I can't get back in... in the chat room?..... NO the SITE! Christy do you turn your puter off at night? I know that can free up your RAM if you will. Granted I am way focused on viruses right now, but it almost seems like a virus is commandeering some of your assets, cuz clearly w/ only PSE running and having 3 GB of RAM you should NOT be at 20% or even 48%. Have you run your antivirus software?

I don't always. And lately I haven't because I've been running Mozy to try to get all backed up again. I just got everything restored onto the new hard drive.

A little bit ago I was sitting here watching Survivor in one window and commenting in the gallery in another when my computer totally crashed. And I couldn't get it to boot! I was freaking out! But then I got it to start in safe mode and did a system restore.

Yikes, Christy!!! That is what was happening to me! It just about made me crazy. I would do something on CS4, and literally 20-30 seconds later I would get movement on my screen. I kept losing posrtions of the layouts I was working on --- they would be replaced by huge blocks of white. My layers would quit working too. Once I moved my cursor off a layer, it would not highlight that layer again. If I duplicated the layer, it would remain active for as long as I worked on that layer, but once I moved on to another layer, when I would try to go back to a previous layout, it would not highlight and I would have to duplicate it again. Grrrrr.I wanted to drop kick the stupid computer through the window. Sucks all the joy out of scrapping, doesn't it?

How did I fix mine? I do not have a clue. It went on for about a week and a half. I defragmented, deleted all my temporary internet files, unplugged all unnecessary "stuff" (scanner, EHD's, ipod, and phone), ran a virus program, ran Malwarebytes, uninstalled and reinstalled my google toolbar, uninstalled all my filters, uninstalled and reinstalled Carbonite, and turned my computer off for 5 minutes (to make certain that all windows had time to close) and turned it back on. I actually did a couple of those things a couple of times, and then things started working again. (To get my filters back, I had to contact 4 different companies and request a new link. Grrrrrrrrrr).

Try the things I have listed above, and see if it works for you. I am crossing my fingers.

DD's prom dress is so pretty! It's white at the top, gathered or shirred, then a silver beaded band, then a long black skirt. She's a tall thin girl, but she looks so skinny... and it's long enough! Black and white is usually not her thing but I'm glad she tried it on because it's so elegant. And it was on clearance, just $76

Christy, Have you cleared the scratch disk for PSE..

on a mac

while you are open Pse or CS hold down the

Control + the option key + the Command KEY

All must be held down at the same time as the program opens

you get a pop up menu that asks you do you want to clean up your scratch disk - in my case it says which ones - my HD and or my EHD (so I can clear up one or both or them)

I always choose both of them.

choose the ones you want click ok, the PSE will open normally.

I looked at my DH's Vista keyboard.

I believe the keys would be

the
CMD + OPT + ALT But, I'm not sure, since I don't have PSE running on it to verify.

Try that.. If you run out of scratch disk, it could slow down your performance significantly.

oh and btw, someone said recently that the photo bin makes stuff have the white around it. Don't know for sure cuz I have never used PSE, but I did see that.

I've heard the PSE does show white around some items in the photo bin.

But, Laura backwards has sent me screen prints of the same "white stuff" in CS4
in actual layers... like around papers..

I don't get it.. I've never seen the white stuff in either PSE or CS4...

know clue what's happening there

I can bring in the exact same file, into either program, no white stuff?

GUNDI, make all this weirdo stuff go away..

we are wasting time on figuring all this out.. and, not scrapping our little hearts out... :help::help::help:

Debi, what a scratch disk? is that a PSE thing or something I should know about too?

I don't know the exact Technical Definition of scratch disk, but both PSE and CS4 use a section of your hard drive for Virtual Memory while it's working on your layout or photo...

This is not the System memory... this memory is actually on your HD or EHD that you set up for PSE or CS4 in

Preferences > performance

over time, this scratch disk or virtual memory gets full of stuff or actually needs to be like on a windows based machine must go thru disk reframenation.

If you simply do those keyboard shortcuts.. that I gave above - you have just cleaned up the entire scratch disk that you initially gave to PSE or CS4 - But now it is all cleaned up.. I don't see a down side or negative side to doing this from time to time -

And, at some point - you will receive a SCRATCH DISK FULL ERROR and, you will have to do the commands I gave above.

I hope this doesn't confuse anyone, If I did.. let me know.. I'll try to do a better job of explaining it..

You can also just google

Photoshop, Scratch Disk... and, you would probably get an hit..

Oh, and Christine I was wrong (head down in shame)

Laura Backwards is not just having a problem with her eraser tool - she is having a problem with any tool that uses a brush..

but, she only has the default brushes loaded

not like me who has like a gazillion brushes loaded into memory, because I love brushes, and styles, and textures, and patterns, and put them all into memory at the same time

but, oh, back to Laura.

she only has the default brushes

Ok, she could just load the Basic brush set.. but, really, really

with 4 GB of RAM.. the default brushes are really not that many brushes to have in memory..

I have way, way more..

I found a hit on the adobe site.. and sent it to her.. but, it's pretty techie, about open GL and, blah, blah..

I'll work with her on it.. after Kevin's BD Bash weekend..

I really don't know a thing about PSP

but, if you have a preference that allocates space to PSP...

then more than likely you have something that is similar

they may call it something different, due to say copyright laws

and, I'm sure the commands to clear it would be different too.

and, the commands to clear it for PSE and CS... I have no clue where they are documented - it's one of those things that is just handed down from person to person..

weird, because it is something you really need

Here's a link about scratch disks:
http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/f/scratchdisk.htm

Debi windows keyboards don't have cmd or opt. Does pse have a prefs file? And also for Laura deleting the prefs file is a good thing to do when stuff gets wonky. I am on the touch but I will try to remember to look. It is under application data>ps cs4 or something like that. When u delete it ps will rebuild it when u open BUT make sure ur workspace and/or brushes etc are saved cuz it goes back to default.

yes, PSE has a Preferences file

BUT, you can clear scratch disk, without clearing your pref file.

And, as far as Laura, she has done way more that delete pref and scratch disk,

she had deactivated, uninstalled, and, reinstalled CS4 several times..

still has the same problems

she has also, on a Mac, cleared her PRAM, checked disk permissions, disk verify, done an apple hardware check, etc...

we are running out of options.

my issue is so weird cause my cs4 works PERFECTLY when I first open it.... but after working on a LO for a short time, THEN it starts acting up. If I close it all... and reopen it, doing the scratch disk thing, then it works great again..... a few moments later after working on a LO, it starts up again. Almost as if there is a cache that is FULL and bogging it down. So odd.

Im ticked off at it though and ready to go back to PSE. Oh, I tried my PSE and it works PERFECTLY. Once when my cs4 was acting up, I simply closed it and then opened PSE to see if it would act up at the same time cs4 was and nope, pse never acted up...

OK, I learned something! Thanks Debi - didn't know about the scratch disk and plan on running the clean up soon. (As a precaution). As for the white area around things in PSE it has to do with the way PSE handles Smart Objects. In v7 at least anything dragged into a LO was treated as a smart object, but because of a programming error it could not handle the transparent pixels. It would just make them white. Don't know if any one found an alternative as I haven't worked enough with v7, but I do know that in v8 the smart objects are not included or are at least not automatic.

74.92GB free is what it says, for my Mac disk. Which actually is more than it had before, and it was working perfectly. But when I started having issues, I put everything onto an EHD, and also bought a 1.5 EHD to use as my Time Machine... got those two things all full of my Mac disk stuff, and then I deleted every photo, every dsp scrapping supply, every layout, etc.... so the only thing on my mac disk now is just my applications and system type files.... no supplies, etc. Plus I have an EHD hooked up.. it's a 1TB.

One of the things I did as well... was to close CS4... then go into (Im on a Mac.. so not sure how this translates for windows) User>Library>Preferences>Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings>Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp ... and made the extension "old.psp" rather than just 'psp' ... on case ya need it for some reason, you can change it back.... then open CS4 ... when it open, it auto rebuilds a new prefs... on Adobe's site, they say to do this to check to see if it's a prefs setting that is making your cs4 act goofy...

Obviously this didn't fix my problem.. well, it did temporarily. LOL

Is it possible that we downloaded a virus in a kit? I mean, we all seem to be having very similar issues.... all at the same time... just a thought, hmm...

I don't think so, because it is just .jpg and .png which are not executable. For sure you didn't get it from me, because I didn't upload anything at all from my infected computer. I had Margie move my bonuses etc directly from the store, so they didn't even SEE my wonky desktop. LOL

Well, not exactly true Christine

.jpg and, .png's do not carry viruses

but, any time you unzip a file, that action itself can release a virus

not often for macs... but, it can - seldom but possible, as a virus can be hidden in with your perfect kits... lurking away... in the execution of the zip/unzip process

so how does it get in there? and if we are sharing then I must not have had what the rest of you have had, cuz Norton definitely found the boot.mebroot virus. And it didn't just slow things down, it went from working fine, to locking me up entirely, so do NOT share with me. First person who gives me another virus, I will happily throttle.

Christine, I don't in any way think we are sharing the SAME virus

we are all seeing different problems

I just didnt' want you to think that a virus can NOT ever to in a zipped GROUP of files.

that is a very handy spot for hackers to stick viruses - because you don't look for them there... you are only expecting certain things.. so, you don't check it for viruses before the virus spread..

a very handy hacker tool

but, no I dont' think you spread it.. to any of us

just weird that we all had problems at the same time.. no clue why

can you tell me why 4 relative died within 1 month. They did not have the same illness, didn't live in the same city... they weren't directly related -... but, how odd is that to have 4 close relatives die that close together.

it's the same thing.. just odd. that we all had computer issues at the same time.

or why did my truck get shot and broken radiator before the holes were even fixed and then my van get backed into? kinda like that, huh?!

So on this virus thing. I realize that if I make a virus, I can (if I knew how) zip it into a zip so when it is unzipped it does its dirty work, but can a hacker do something to add a virus to someone else's zips. Does that make sense what I am asking?

A hacker can be sooo good
that he (because we know they are always HE's)

can take your entire contact list, and sent an email to every single one of them.. with just a nice note from you

and, once you open it - doesn't look like anything bad.. but, just simply by opening it you have unopened the virus/worm/trojan horse whatever....

they are good.. too bad they don't spend their time doing good in the world

there are many ways to transmit a virus and anything that has an executable - like a zip file - that's an execution - IT has an action - it opens files.. can contain a virus

lucky for up mac users - what works on a windows machine
does not work on a mac machine

that does not mean there is not a single mac virus - sure there are..
but, not nearly as many.. and very rare.

knock on wood.

Apologies for the long post, it was hard to choose which ones to leave out ;)

OMG!! Sands, these are magnificent!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Oh, Sands.. those photos are fantastic...

And, this week we find out she drinks, hangs out in bars, smokes cigars, and, now this.. that she'd knock people over.. to get her place in line.. hmm, you have to wonder about some people..

Just goes to show - if you hang out with a person long enough, the truth will out!

thanks :).... and :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Awww, thump thump thump!!! There goes my heart!!!! But I have to decline, since the Aussie girls already invited me that side of the globe for July :)

So..........now we're beginning to see on which side of the ocean your allegiance lies!

Christy

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Once PQ finishes her pin-poking voodoo on you, you should be good to go. Get that caravan revved up!

yes, we are going to blame you Christy for our computer woes...

isn't it odd though that we are all having these issues at the same time??

I find it odd... and scary.

LOL

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :yikes: :worried: :help: :help:

hmmm.... that's weird about red. I wonder why that is... just cuz red is so awesome?

Christy, if you can get a replacement from BB, then do it, but good luck. DH definitely has a lemon. He has taken his back 4 or 5 times and they just won't replace it. By now they have spent more money on parts and labor than they would have on a new laptop.

I woke up this morning feeling rough, but a shower did wonders for me. I'm hoping getting outside and getting some fresh air will do me good too. Have a good weekend everybody.

Everyone knows red is a POWERFUL color! ;)

Christy, I'm sorry your having such problems with your puter. Don't try to blame the Gundi Girls though. Remember you told us that it was you that was cursed. I hope it gets worked out quickly! DET contest is not the time for you computer to die. Maybe the Geek squad would work quickly if they knew about DET.

Sounds gorgeous and economical! :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

This is really quite confusing.

Sure makes one pay attention to the names over the avis, huh? :D

OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!! I was so flipping confuseddddddd!!!!!!! ahahahahaahaha...... I almost never look at NAMES, I look at the avatars to identify people...Im just weird liike that. Holy toledo, I was so confused, I thought Stitchie had lost her mind!!

Happy birthdaaaaayyyy to meeeee.....!! I turned 40 this morning. This stinks! :-)

Now I need to go back and read the thread and get unconfused!

Laura, 40 is a wonderful age!!! Just consider the alternative!

  missed you!

Missed you too!

NOT you too! Come on GMC, help me out here! Where you been? I haven't seen you in a while... not that I see you now

Just look in the mirror, Stitchie!       (I was out of town again; got to see the twins and 4 of my grandkids!

I'm still way back there <-----------------------, but I'm creeping up on ya!

I'm almost scared to even SAY it... but my CS4 is working beautifully... fingers crossed!! It only took, uhh.. what was it Debi... 6 installs? LOL!!

Maybe Christy needs to uninstall and reinstall 6 times too! hehe...

Oh please don't tell me I need to do that.

For whatever reason my computer is currently working. It's worked since it crashed and windows did some kind of repair. We'll see if it holds!

Ok, I read the past 10 pages of this thread and I still don't understand why everyone looks like Michelle and I was supposed to change my avatar to Elmo. But I did cause I'm obedient! We went to Sesame Place a couple of years ago and met the REAL Elmo! Are you jealous now?!

I want to meet Elmo! I'm a sucker for kids stuff. I would go to Chuck E Cheese by myself all the time if I wasn't afraid of the workers looking at me funny! LOL I also dragged my parents and uncle to Jelly Belly headquarters while we were in California. They liked the jelly beans, but were ready to go once they got them. I could have stayed there for days and loved it. My dad was a good sport and sat next to Jelly Belly for a picture. I wish I could find that picture...it would be perfect to scrap! LOL I guess I'm just a big kid at heart...I get it from my dad. I'm running out of time to enjoy all the fun stuff since the niece and nephews are getting older. I can't believe the oldest is going to be 16 this year! I actually used a picture of him when *I* was 16 and he was 1 for my DET layout! LOL Got me all nostalgic and anxious that he's as old as I was when he was born. Not to mention I can't imagine him on the road...oh my...SCARY. I'm sure he'll want to drive wherever I go with him. I think it's time to work on my patience while nervous! LOL

I guess my sister's going to have to start working on the kids pretty soon after her wedding. I need some more playmates! Why can't they just stay 4 or 5 forever? LOL

I was just as excited as my kids at Sesame Place and Disney World. I know there are people inside those costumes, but STILL! I waited my whole life to meet Big Bird!

Laura, I made you a cake (well I made it for my daughter when she was two, but today it's for you!). Happy Birthday!

CONGRATS gundi girls on your DET LO's!!! Wish I was with ya, but no way it was happening this time around.

We are waiting for the papers to sign the lease on the 5 bedroom house!!! And our truck and van sold, except then the van people couldn't get the loan they needed and so we have to start over with that. :( Bummer I was so happy about them both being gone, but the truck was the biggie so that is really good!!

I went to answer the phone (thank heavens it rang) and water was flooding my washroom and bathroom!:cry: Someone or somehow, that drain hose was not in the wall drain line and so ALL the water was just coming out on the floor. Holy crap it was a lot of water, used ALL the towels in my house to clean it up and in the basement. I don't think I ever want to finish the basement, we have had more water problem with our fridge and washer than I like. We finally just shut the water off to the fridge. At least I got it all cleaned up and now I just need to get the insulation in the basement walls dried. I think I am lucky with the walls. I'm pretty sure they are just wet from all the water hitting the floor and bouncing up onto the wall. BUT GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ I didn't need that today!

Not sure about all the stitchie and elmo avi's but I don't have time to join you today, sorry!!

It's because you had the period there. It saves as whatever is past the period, so therefore a "2" file type. It should work if you rename it to what filetype you saved it as. Like DETVersion2try2.psd or jpg or whatnot. Just put the correct filetype after the period and it should work again. :D Hope that helps.

I feel so special today... a girl I know, but thought she didn't really care much for me (cause I take no baloney and I'll call you out on it... ) sent me a HUGE bouquet of flowers and balloons... it's gorgeous. The handwritten card reads "Your friendship means so much to me. I am glad I can call you my friend. Your important in my life. Happy Birthday Laura! Love, Stacey" .... wowzerrrr... I cried, I honestly thought she didn't really like me much at all. How very nice of her.

On a side note, and really a much more important note..... a friend of ours son, he's 13, just got his butt kicked at school today... like literally, he got beat up. They life flighted him out from the locker room. He had blood coming from his ear, his head, his eye... his eye was in bad shape, he couldn't feel his legs, his speech is slurred.....
Kids are just MEAN MEAN MEAN!!!! I pray that he'll be okay. I also pray that the boy who did it will get the help he needs to control his anger. We have been asking for this boy to be removed.... is this what needed to happen in order for them to listen to us? *sigh*

So wonderful about the flowers and balloons! Happy Birthday again.

On the bullying thing, it seems to be such a common thing in schools now a days, and I'm hoping that my kids don't end up on the receiving end (or the giving end for that matter). Really scares me!

I sure hope that boy is ok, and the perpetrator be punished accordingly!

Yes, that extra 2.2 is what is messing you up, try renaming it to DET2b or something. If you have to you can even go into DOS and rename it w/ the correct extension, then it should open up for you.
