Whine Alert!
I love my husband! (that's my mantra today!) But if he doesn't get well and go back to work soon, I may just have to have him bumped off! I can't do school (effectively) because the TV is on and distracting everyone. I can't clean house (at all) because he complains that the vacuum is too loud, I'm in his way so he can't see (the TV). And yes, all he does is "sit in front of the darn TV"! OK, OK, I know he's sick. He finally went to the Dr yesterday and he has "Community Acquired Pneumonia" whatever the heck that means. But, please God - get him well enough to go back to work so I can get my life back!!!!!:pray::pray:
On a brighter note:
Our final Oregon State income tax gave us a refund. Not big, but big enough and I went and bought a Wii! So school this morning consisted of: reading time with Mom (one-on-one) while the other two did the Wii with Dad. I counted that part as P.E.!

How is everyone doing today? It's a beautiful day here!!! I can't wait to get outside...even if it is for a doctor's appointment! LOL
I have some more news on the disability front. My uncle is a lawyer, and after talking with the woman in charge of my SSI case, my dad gave him a call because it didn't make much sense. She wants me to submit everything I've paid to my parents, not what I intend on paying them in the future for bills. So my uncle is going to look at all the information (thank gosh I saved every little thing they sent me) and call this woman to try and get my SSI reinstated. I'm hoping that now that I have a lawyer involved, they won't play these games any longer.

I think that will make ALL the difference.
It's a game with them, and they want you to fold and give up - and, not appeal.
They just make it hard.. so you'll go away.
Don't do it.. keep fighting for what you think is right.:love3::love3::love3:

Yeah Sands!!! Congrats.
Lisa, sorry about your husband. I totally understand.
I haven't used my Mac a ton, but I LOVE IT!!! I love the iphoto. Lisa, I'm almost done with my house so I will PM you for my lessons. :love2:
All the boxes are unpacked, but I have a lot of things to find homes for. I feel like it's starting to be home.
DD has been going to school, but she still is apprehensive about me leaving. I think all the bribing has worked, so I hope she keeps it up.
I am starting to take pictures now that we are in a new place so I think I will start scrapping again! :yahoo: Can't wait for that.

Shana - having a lawyer may make all the difference. Hang in there.
Heather - I doubt "lessons" will be required, but I'm glad to answer any and all questions. Of course, you know there are several Mac folks right here that can also lend a hand!
OK - Yeah! DH went to work today!!!!! I've spent all morning doing the dreaded H word, and downstairs, both bathrooms and all the carpets are done. Still need to wash bathroom and kitchen floors and dust upstairs, but I think that will wait until tomorrow. Poor kids have had so little school lately, I will have to do some of that first! But I just could not stand the dirty floors any longer!

I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES!!! I have to order my prescriptions thru the mail - or they charge WAY more at the actual drug stores..
So, I do a refill - in plenty of time for it to arrive.
And, they call today - when I only have 2 weeks left of the script - and tell me to bad you can't have any more for 45 more days - of a 90 SCRIPT.
If I want more, I have to call the doctor, and, send it in to them by mail (that would take a while - this doctor will not fax - because of the type of script). And, He's out of the office rest of week. Great. And, I WILL HAVE TO PAY TOTALLY OUT OF POCKET FOR A NON GENERIC SCRIPT! What do I have insurance for?
Can anybody tell me.
This same doctor has told me, and I hate to do this, but to basically lie, and just go to Target or Costco, and say I lost my insurance, and get the scripts there.
Isn't that horrible, that the SYSTEM is making you lie to get pills that you absolutely have to have for your health.
This is not a medication I can LIVE without. I would be in the hospital in a few days without it. I told them that, my husband told them that.
They said file an appeal - in writing, that will take oh 30 - 45 days for approval.. great.
Why didn't you tell me before this, so sorry, but, you can't appeal until you hit you limit, was there answer...
That is crazy.. they won't call of notify you UNTIL the DAY you hit your limit!!
So, I've got a call into the doctor, to find out what we can do.. he'll help me I know.. but, It just makes me so mad.
what is insurance for anyway??

Oh, Debi - I sooooooo understand! My story is so long, I would hurt myself trying to tell it! I think I would agree with the Dr., just go tell the pharmacy you don't have insurance and get what you need.

I ordered three scripts for DW at once. One they couldn't refill one until a week later, which they said they would do. A week later I get notification that the last script is being filled. I ask myself what happen to the other two. Not filled. I call and they tell me that one of them is no longer available. Did they try to contact me with that information? NO!! Why didn't they send the other med? We were going to ship them together!! They ended up shipping that one overnight and did they save money?? Why do we have to deal with these companies that are not looking to help us??:doh:

No, i don't have medicare part d.
they have decided that certain meds are expensive. So, they are imposed QUANTITY limits on them
So, let's say you take 1 pill a day for 90 days - but they say nope - we will only allow 45 pills in your 90 day period. Well, what do you do - well, you have to cheat with you doctor - and, order a double script - of 2 pills per day - for 45 days and cut the darn pills in half. Is that stupid of WHAT. but then you can have the same AMOUNT of medicine in 90 days.
But, you just cut the pills in half, walla 45 pills become 90 pills.
STUPID, STUPID, STUPID>
IT"S THE NUMBER of PILLS, not the amount of medicine, not the total cost.
MAJOR WHINE ALERT
Well what a coincidence ... I'm having problems here too! Not with prescriptions but with funding for travel to Wellington for a hospital appointment for Geoff.
Turns out he's not eligible for a certain card that low income earners in New Zealand get to help out. I earn too much - for my little, underpaid, part time job. We are just a couple of hundred dollars over the limit.
So now I have to drive us down to Wellington - about 5 hours - stay in a motel overnight and drive back the next day. One day after that I have to drive to Auckland for the laptop crop. That's about 7 hours driving. I don't do a lot of long distance these days so I'm really worried about being too tired and I'm afraid I'll probably not be going to the crop after all.
If I earned a few cents less an hour, they would fly us down and pay for taxis. I'm gutted, but DH comes first right now so I'll just rant here and get it out of my system.
Sorry about that - stupid thing is - I still don't feel any better! :(

it is also called Frisbee Football..........on teams and you advance the frisbee down the "field". You have to throw it. If the frisbee gets intercepted or knocked down or dropped the other team gets it and it goes back the other way. You want to get to the other person's endzone :D

Hey guys. Hope everyone's enjoying their Friday! I've had a pretty good day. But more about that later!
Chris - sorry you hurt your finger. I probably would have hurt something too! I love ultimate frisbee. It's definitely not just a Utah thing!
Rene - I hope you're having a good time in the old haunt!
My day has been pretty eventful. I went to the doctors about my ears - I can't hear very well because I had a double ear infection and there's a buildup of wax (I know...gross!) They couldn't do anything for me today because I haven't been on the antibiotic long enough yet. So I have to wait another 2-3 weeks before they can wash my ears out!!!! I'm dying without being able to hear very well.
So after that we went to Walmart (my dad and I) and I was GOING to get the New Moon DVD. I couldn't believe it, but they were totally sold out. This far after the release date and they only had blue ray! So that was a bust. Then we went to verizon...and let me tell you...I had to put up with a LOT to get my new BLACKBERRY! (yay!!! It's purple too!) You guys know how my dad has dementia, well it was in full force today. I'm wondering if he has Alzheimers with how angry and combative he got. They had a special on smart phones that I qualified for, so it would only cost me a little bit to get my blackberry. My dad proceeds to ask how much the monthly bill is. Mind you, he doesn't pay the bills...and my mother had already approved me getting the phone at this price. The customer service guy (God bless him) was very patient at first while my dad stomps and gets all upset while he's trying to tell my dad that he's trying to save us money by cutting out minutes we don't use. I think he went over the fact that the bill was going to be $25 less a month with him about 5 times...and that's not including how many times I tried to explain it to him. All I could do was stand there while all the people in the store watched my dad yell at me and try to walk out every time we told him something about the bill. I tried explaining to him that mom knows what the monthly bill is, and this poor guy is trying to help us cut DOWN on that bill. So finally, my dad hands me the money and walks out. I apologized profusely to the customer service rep and explained that he has dementia and sometimes it's hard for him to understand things and he gets upset. The poor guy is so frazzled at this point that I'm sure he just wanted to get me out of the store before my dad walked back in to lecture and yell at me again. I'm just glad I was able to explain it enough to my dad that I could get the money for the phone and case before he stomped out because it was the last day of the promotion. So beside my dad's meltdown, I was pretty happy. I made the mistake of telling him he was embarrassing me while we were in the store. WHEW! I heard about it the whole ride home. Of course my mom won't let me tell her about this because she doesn't like to talk about this stuff, so I apologize, but I needed to get it out somewhere.
So after the Verizon fiasco, we went to pick up the shower invites for my sister that I designed. They turned out so pretty! I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was to just print them at FedEx/Kinkos and it only took about 3 hours before we got to pick them up in the store. I ordered them online at about 11, and they were done about 1:30! So I would definitely recommend them for printing! The quality is great too! After all that we came home..and I've been playing with my blackberry since. I'm in love!
So that's my run-down. I'm just so excited about my new phone that all the bad stuff doesn't matter as much today!

What a wonderful day we had today. We drove to PA to visit the grandkids as we haven't seen them since Feb. On the way down we stopped at Chanticleer - it was the estate of Christine and Adolph Rosengarten, Sr. Mr. Rosengarten was head of the pharmaceutical company Rosengarten and Sons. The focus is on plant combinations, containers, textures, and colors, often relying on foliage more than flowers. Many of the containers had varieties of lettuce in them.
Last night I went to a talk on wildflowers at our garden club. Guess what???? I saw some of the plants the lady was talking about.....was I excited!!!Will post some of our photos later.
Hope everybody had a great day!!!

I'm so sorry Shana, I'm going thru this with my Dad... on and off - good days and bad.
Did you know in Daddy's world Tiger Woods won the Masters a full day before the tournament ended and they were putting the green jacket on him..
Not only did Tiger not win the Tournament - my Daddy was seeing this on TV a full day before the Tournament ended - but that was Daddy's world that day.. I just let him tell me what he sees.
The next call, he'll be fine, the next call, he can argue about anything.. you just never know..
So, I totally get it.. and, when I'm there - it's seems to be worse, don't know why that is.
So, Shana, I totally feel your pain... I'm sharing it...
have fun with your new toy., tho.

Things are going ok here. It's been a long week. My doctor has me on this detox thing, and it was pretty rough. Two days without food and then a restricted diet. The worst is over though.

I'm at a friend's tonight so I won't be able to catch up until tomorrow, but I just wanted to stop in and share the AWESOME news I got today. I know ya'll will understand my excitement. I'm getting my lump sum payment next week and after paying all my bills off...I will be getting myself a....you guessed it....DIGITAL SLR!!!! I can't wait. Does anyone recommend Nikon or Canon strongly? I was leaning toward a Rebel, but I've heard good things about both. I know it's probably going to be in the 10 - 12 mp range, but going from 4 to that will be enough for me! I know lenses are something to look hard into now that I'm getting into the SLRs, so that will be what I'm doing this week...educating myself! :D :D :D

Nikon!! I love my Nikon!! Really, Shana, the best advice I got was to hold them all and see what feels best in your hand. My D40 fits my hand just right. Also, you can't really compare MP between a P&S and a DSLR because the size of the sensor is drastically different. ANY DSLR, 6MP or 12MP, is going to be a drastic jump above your P&S. Good luck in choosing.
Barbara, your photos are lovely.
Chris, you did such a great job on your photoshoot! I love the one where the two of them are toward the front with the boys behind them. The reflection one is beautiful too and so is the temple. Why is there an extra boy in that one?

Today, DH left his site to go get some lunch and decided to do the macho thing and spin his wheels as he left the security . The Sultan has just decreed that doing doughnuts (where they spin their wheels in a circle), or doing wheelies is highly forbidden, since its a common past time of the young Omani's and they cause accidents, and cause deaths doing it!
So, the security called the ROP (Royal Omani Police), and as a result he was nearly arrested and put in Jail for 2 months!!!! How bloody stupid!!!! I'm sooooo bloody angry with him! If it had not been for the smooth talk of the company ROP he would be sitting in jail right now!!! UUUUURRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know lenses are something to look hard into now that I'm getting into the SLRs, so that will be what I'm doing this week...educating myself! :D :D :DNikon and Canon are the 'giants' in the industry. Both have a wide selection of lenses at both the amateur and professional levels. Each has pros and cons. Canon, from what I have seen, has great color right out of the camera in whatever application you open the images in. Nikon did not release the entire algorithm series to the third party software, so the color can look a tad less unless you open it in Nikons own software (NIK) which comes on a cd with the camera.... Nikon betters Canon with the user friendly Creative Lighting System ( CLS).. the basic set up for using off camera external flashes is a matter of 2 menu choices and off you go.. while Canon is a bit more complex to use. So if you are thinking of eventually using off camera flash(es), then Nikon would be the better choice. Both have excellent external flashes in a fairly broad price range.
The best first thing though.... the camera that fits best in your hand ! If that camera body is not comfortable in your hand then it's less enjoyable to use. Because the bodies are big and heavy compared to a p/s, the ergonomics are IMPORTANT! Buttons/switches shoud be easy for you to reach/use..accessing menus should be easy and logical.. Simple and frequently used things like ISO/WB, should be accessible from a button or dial on the camera body rather than browsing through menus.. BELIEVE ME the ability to change the ISO/WB quickly and easily is a great feature ! Same goes for metering modes and focusing modes... they need to be accessible quickly. There is NOTHING worse than needing to quickly change and needing to plow through menus.... and miss the shot.
MEGAPIXELS --- a 6 MP DSLR will take a better image than a 12 MP p/s.. it's the lens !!!!! So don't get caught up in megapixel wars. I've blown up an image to 20"x30" from a 6 MP camera and it looked beautiful...the more MP , the bigger the file, the more storage space is needed etc.
SENSOR... look for the CMOS sensor. They are just better .(IMHO)
CAMERA BODIES.. as technology drives the industry to new heights.. new technology today is on the fringes of obsolete in 18 months. Thus the camera body is basically the "disposable" item in your photo arsenal. INVEST IN GOOD LENSES ! I have 30+ year old film prime lenses which work with my current camera body !!!!!
SIDE NOTE RE CAMERA BODIES... ask if the FOCUS MOTOR is in the camera body !!!!!!!! A camera body WITHOUT a focus motor will LIMIT your lens choice ! (unless you don't mind manually focusing)
LENSES- Pro grade lenses are fixed aperture lenses. Canon's are the L series, while Nikon doesn't label them at all... but both have fixed apertures ( ie. 50mm f/1.8, 70-200 f/2.8 etc) These suckers can be big and heavy!
Both companies offer anti shake technology.. Nikon terms it VR (vibration reduction) and Canon calls it IS (image stablization) and they offer it in both the pro and amateur lenses. It adds weight and cost to the lens..BUT.. allows you to hand hold at somewhat slower shutter speeds and still get a sharp image.
Please don't be under the impression I'm a lens snob.. I'm not.. one of my favorite lenses is a 28-70 f/2.8-4) kit lens which I got years ago for $75.00. Takes great images and I use it a lot !
THE ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT PIECES OF EQUIPMENT ARE FREE.... the mind and the eye behind the camera ! Take the time to LEARN the camera, know how the lens "sees" the scene, learn to SEE the light and you can take exquisite images with just about any lens you own..

Speaking of police - listen to this crazy story!!!
One of the guys who works with Gary had left work the other night and was pulled over for a tail light that was out. When the cop ran his license, he then told him to get out of the car and proceeded to arrest him!!!! Guess what the charge was???? FAILURE TO SPAY OR NEUTER!!!!! He apparently had adopted a dog a couple years ago from the animal shelter here. The second he got home, the dog jumped from his car and ran off and they never could find him. Checked with the animal shelter, etc. No one had him. So they just let it go and forgot about it. Well then later the animal shelter noticed they never came back with the paperwork that they had had the dog neutered, so filed charges, and he was arrested and spent an hour in jail waiting for his wife to come bail him out!! Can you even believe that? So of course he's going to fight that, but GOOD GRIEF!!!!!

Shana - it sounds like we are in a bit of the same boat with our Dads. One big difference is you have to live with it every day and I'm so far away that it hurts (can't be there to help at all!) And our Moms sound a lot alike too! I feel for you. This has been one of the toughest things to go thru yet!

Wow - a lot has happened the last couple days. Just been too busy to even think about the computer.
Chris - love that new kit. And those photos are awesome! I love the ones by the tree, but that reflection is beyond words beautiful. Wish you had been around for my wedding (well, you or Carolyn or Sands or.......) Ouch about your finger! Guess we will be learning Ultimate Frisbee soon as the boys work thru beltloops. They have already earned one, but don't know if they will get it before scouts ends for the summer.
Debi - hope things are working out with the insurance. I know the game you are talking about. We had to play the same game with my thyroid meds. To drop the dosage per day cost so much more that the Doc wrote the script for the higher amount and had me cut the pills in half. Rediculous if you ask me. And (I know this may upset some of you) people scream about health care reform. I think the bottom line is something has to change or we will none of us be able to afford it.
Haven't gotten my newsletter yet - Sands, you are spotlight? Cool!
So, probably forgot something, sorry! Time for Sunday Chat all!

Okay. I think I've caught up. If I'm forgetting anyone I apologize, but I'm going on little sleep at this point. We took slumber party to the 10 year old level and were up all night! LOL
Barb and Chris...you both took some awe-inspiring photos! They're absolutely gorgeous!
Sands - I can't imagine how relieved you are your hubby just got a slap on the wrist for the most part! I can understand how upset you were/are...not something you want to mess with! Hopefully someday you can look back on it and chuckle though. :D CONGRATS on spotlight! Well deserved! :D :D :D
Rene - wow! I didn't even know you could get arrested for that! That IS crazy.
So I'm thinking as of now I might go with the rebel, but I will be going to best buy and definitely seeing which one feels right to me. I've started looking at lenses some, and I need to see what package deals there are for body and lenses. I know I at least want to get a macro lens on top of a more all-purpose lens. I've been dying to be able to take close-ups and be able to FOCUS! LOL The great thing is...all my bills will be gone! That was first and foremost in my mind...so now I can do the fun stuff! :D :D

Shana - find a better camera shop for your test holds. Best Buy has them locked to a counter and you can't really tell what kind of balance you will have with the camera actually being held in your hand. When I was playing with different cameras it made a huge difference by going where they just supervise you instead of having the camera's locked up like that.

Beautiful photos, Christine! I love the reflection one!
Do men ever grow up???? Gees man!!!
Oh my goodness! That is just scary! I'm glad everything worked out ok. Who would have ever though spinning your wheels would land you in jail!?
That's crazy too! I didn't know you were required by law to spay or neuter a shelter pet. I get why they make the law, but I have to say I am so sick of the government getting involved in everything! UGH!

Christine, I can't see the photos.. I don't do facebook... bummmerrrrrr. LOL! I'm sure they are fantastic though, :-)
Okay so I'm hoping someone can help answer this mystery for me in regards to my CS4:
I use to be able to do Shift+F5 and up would come the FILL box. However, that isn't the case anymore... now instead if I don't have a layer selected (oops) it will say the command GROW isn't available (what the heck IS "grow"?) and when I do select my layer so that I can FILL then when I hit Shift+F5 it will put dancing ants all around my entire layer, even though I had a rectangle marked off using the marquee tool. I can go to Edit>Fill and that still works... but not my shortcut command... WHY? Did I somehow goof up and assign my Shift+F5 to this mystery non available "grow command"?? How do I fix this?

When I fill a selection, I just do ctrl+backspace or alt backspace depending on if I want to fill w/ foreground or background.

Christine, but what if your wanting to select a pattern? I have always just used Shift+F5... I haven't a clue why it isn't working anymore. I liked it cause it was fast and easy, came with up the options to fill with color, pattern, etc.

But, Gundi
with Shift + f5
you have many more options
you can fill with foreground/background
or
Color - pick one
pattern - pick one
50% grey
choose opacity
blend mode
Choose black or white - no matter what your default colors are
And, choose to preserve transparancy or not..
way more choices...
Shift + f5 is the way better choice
to me at least

30 students and a teacher - WHICH kid is just missing an eye.. it isn't shut just missing
and, her mouth - just gone..
MY STUPID AUNT.
The one eye, I took the other eye - and, copied it - flipped horizantal - put it into place
it looks ok
but, whose darn mouth do i pick ..
hmm..

Rene - I'm not sure what you did to set Debi off this time! I know I read everything, but for the life of me can't find a single thing that would have caused her to turn on you like that! Debi - if I missed somethin', I'll be darned if I know what it was!
Heather - glad to here things are starting to smooth out for DD! Hope it continues and that she makes a new friend to take her mind off things soon. Also - insurance is more expensive up here too. I nearly had a heart attack when bare bones insurance for the 1990 Eagle was as much as for the 2004 Venture back in Oregon with the necessary extras for a newer car. But then I remembered, up here it's because they supposedly have so many uninsured drivers. Well, heck yeah! If I lived in a town with one gall-durned road that could only be driven from May to September, I wouldn't have insurance either! KWIM? Oh, that, and my car was 50 years old and only had 30,000 miles on it.....!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a good day. Just a small update. I've decided that for now, it's probably best if I start saving bit by bit for the camera with Missy's wedding coming up. Until then I'm going to get a nice point and shoot that will get me through. I figure it's a huge investment, and I should probably make sure I have everything with the shower, bachelorette party, etc. taken care of first. Who knows, maybe I'll still have the money for it after all the wedding celebrations! But I wasn't thinking...and after talking with my parents...Missy does come first. Plus it will be that much sweeter if I save up for it and reward myself then rather than jumping right into it...I'll definitely savor it more. After looking at the cost of lenses, I'd rather wait and be able to get another lens that I love with the one that comes with the camera! I will definitely be looking around until then too. I guess I'm a little down about it, but I know it's the right thing to do. I am leaning toward the Rebel T1i right now though. :D
I need advice. I have to broach the subject to the wedding party about all of us chipping in to get one of Missy's big ticket items for the shower. How would you all go about it? Is that a good thing to do, or should I just let them choose what they'd like to get from her registry?

I would just say something like "would anybody like to combine our money to get x, y, or z" and you could have 3 price ranges so you are good regardless of how many people decide to combine. Something to that effect, let's people know it is an option, without obligating them. I would probably also say something like "if you are interested, please get me the $ by such and such date, so I have time to get our gift and wrap it. That way it is totally in their court, if they don't want to, they don't even have to respond. You don't have to follow up cuz whatever you have by the given date is what you go with and if there is any extra, you could do a gift certificate or something small off of her registry.

ewwwww Lisa that is just nasty, but interesting about the bears. I will have to tell dh, he went salmon fishing up there a couple of years ago. Never even saw a bear. He even drove into some areas that were supposed to have bears to see if he could see any from the road. NOPE! The very first time in his LIFE, that he ever saw any kind of bear, live, in the wild was after that, when we had gone up the canyon fishing and were driving home and a bear ran across the road! We were all so amazed. It was right before our trip to Mexico, when we got back, there was a news report about how some teen was pulled out of a tent and killed by a bear in the SAME AREA. We saw the bear on the news and dh is totally convinced it was the same one.

nothing in depth but both my creatinine and BUN are beautiful, so I doubt it is due to kidney malfunction. Much more likely that it is due to my cycle being out of whack, so they either want me to be on birth control pills or do an ablation.

OK MAC experts, I need some advice. When I try to print something from an email or a page off the internet, all I get is about 1/2 the page, sometimes it's enlarged so only 1/2 the page will fit, sometimes not. When I do print preview, it looks normal, so what's up with that?
Also, when I try to copy some text off a website, email, or a layout or something, it lets me copy, but then when I do Paste, nothing happens. What's up with that? It's very aggravating. :help::help::help:

The keys on your keyboard may not be activated. Since I never use them, I don't know exactly where to turn them on, but check system preferences.
The print issue is just that: most likely related to your printer set up than to Mac vs PC. Try making sure you have the latest Mac drivers and double check just what settings are selected in the print screen. Some times you have to select "print all pages" depending on the printer.
What email program are you using?

The print all pages was selected, and in print preview it shows 2 pages, then when I print it, I get 1/2 of each page because it is so enlarged. That was what happened one time. Another time, I was trying to print a tutorial from a website, and again, the print preview was fine, but then when I printed, it started in the middle of the first page and printed from there, skipped a couple of pages, and ended with the last page.
I'm using yahoo (ymail).

What browser are you using (although if you did a print preview, I doubt it's that). It does seem to be that it might be related tho, as it happens in both email and web sites. One thing to try:
Instead of printing, at the bottom of the print dialogue, select PDF, Save to PDF. Create a file on your desktop (or any other easy place to find it) and try printing that. This will take the browser out of the equation and help determine if it's the printer or not. If you still have trouble, I would blame the printer and go hunt the latest driver updates.

I just figured it out. Somehow the printer was set on 13x19 paper, like my printer that I use to print out my layouts, so I changed it and now it's almost right, but not quite. But it isn't saving the paper size I'm putting in. Each time it is defaulting to the 13x19. Ok, just figured that out too, went in and changed default paper size.

Is that your hemoglobin? I've been out of the lab for a while, but that doesn't sound so low to me.
yeah wouldn't be too bad for being hgb but it is actually the ferretin, which they would like to see at 50..........hmmm I am sorta close, maybe, well at least it was better than FOUR which I was at one time! Although my HCT was clear up to 39, which for me is really good, I told dh I could go give blood at the blood drive today, he gave me the "glare" right over the phone.
Have you guys seen this new challenge?

I think the person who decided that it was improper to leave a preposition at the end of a sentence was a doofus.:D (And I think they are wrong.........it is perfectly ok to leave your preposition at the end of a sentence............but don't EVER let your participles dangle).

The camera's mechanical shake caused by the reflex mirror action can affect images taken with a super zoom lens or a macro lens. My Canon has Custom Functions that will control the mirror lockup. Another way is to use the self timer set at 2 seconds. When the shutter is pushed completely, the mirror locks up and then the photo is taken 2 seconds later giving the camera time to stop shaking.
It's in the manual:lol:. Do you know where your manual is?:rofl:

actually I do know where the manual is so neiner neiner. I just don't get why/how it works, I understand using the self timer or a remote, but not getting this lock up thing, besides it is easier to ask than to look it up :D

Thanks to both of you! Funny name, huh?! I came up with it cuz the little birdies reminded me of that song from South Pacific, "pick a little, talk a little, cheep cheep cheep", which led me to the other song, Happy Talk from the same musical, and I thought oh cute. Kinda random, huh?!

Oooooh Chris I love the new kit! Can't wait to play with it. :D
So I got my new P&S today. It's a Nikon and has gotten wonderful reviews, so I'm hoping I can get some wonderful pics with it. I've started my fund toward the DSLR as well. Hopefully I'll have one before I know it! I think a trip to the zoo is in order to test out the new P&S though...what do you guys think?
I went to the Clayground today with my friend and her kids. They got to paint the elephant and cat they made from scratch and my friend and I both did this cute little froggie. Looks like I'll have to redo my sister's plate that I made though. Somehow it cracked in the kiln. I'm not being charged to re-do it so that's a good thing. :) I love going there anyway, so what's another day of painting? LOL
Does anyone have an extra pillow? I think I'm going to fall asleep at the computer tonight. Hope everyone's had a great day and I'll see ya tomorrow! :D

There's a "pick a little, talk a little" song in Music Man. Is there another one in South Pacific?

I can't wait to take some! I'm going to get my memory card today, but it's supposed to be iffy weather the next few days. I'm hoping to get to the zoo early next week and I might do some picture walks if the weather holds up before then. I need to get back in shape, so this will be good for me!

No, unfortunately there are no giraffes of any kind at our zoo. I'm excited because they've recently added a butterfly garden, so I'll definitely be shooting away in there. There's not a very big collection of animals, but it will do for now.
I'm so excited about our trip to Niagara Falls though. I can't wait to play with my shutter speeds to get a cool water shot! And we confirmed that we are going, which rocks my toe socks!

Oh, I loved the butterfly garden when it was in Portland. I took my Mom & Dad and we paid to go into the zoo just for the butterfly garden. We had already spent all morning at the Japanese Garden that is right down the street from the zoo, so we were pretty tuckered. By the time the kids were old enough to go back they had dismantled it! :( I will anxiously await the pictures, but you do know that you should wait until it warms up. The butterflies love the heat and won't be really active until later in the summer.

I didn't realize that! Thanks so much for letting me know. Worse comes to worse I can get some pictures of the lions and tigers and bears, oh my! (okay, so there's no bears or tigers, but there's snow leapords and lions I believe.) I wish I lived closer to a big zoo.
