Oh, I'm dreaming of a White Christmas.. ok - Christmas Gift # 1
Ok, well, I'm paying for it.. - but, it's a going to be a great gift to 3 who couldn't otherwise afford to do this..
Last year - i took my 85 year old - now 86 year old Neighbor Moo (nickname for Murial).. to the Nutcracker Suite..
And, this year - my niece told me she wanted to go with her DD - my niece's DD - is about 19 - so my niece is just over 40-ish.
so, this year - 4 generations of VERY HOT chicks going to the Nutcracker Suite ballet..
and, all are so looking forward to it..
So, my first Christmas gift - the delight of 3 - very hot chicks.. and, my delight in giving the gift.. I love it..
I'm dreaming of a White Christmas... ... la la la la la la la...

You got that right! Drew wants a TV. He wants me to just get a tv with the money I would have spent on several gifts, which is ok I guess, but I just hate for him just to have one gift. KWIM? I have no clues on the girls. I don't buy them clothes, and they're not really into makeup, perfume, jewelry, so what is left? Heck if I know.:help::help:

Do yourself a favor and just get him the TV. My MIL prefers to have lots of little gift for the kids rather than one big one. They would so much rather just have something they want rather than lots of little things for the sake of unwrapping more boxes. I hope that didn't sound too selfish. And by the way, we have to do the shopping for her too.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what I will end up doing. One year we just gave them money and a couple of little gifts and they were happy with that. Last year we did the snow tubing trip to NM, but I doubt we will do that this year.

Love the dancing boy so cute..
My DGS arrived yesterday - so tired.. he's still asleep now, and he went to bed last nite at 8 pm
He said he hadn't slept in a week, he was so excited about coming to stay with us..
He could hardly move..
We gave him a new cell phone - and his own room - which he never has - unless he is with us..
And, he told me - Grandma - I'm really, really excited with the phone, and my room and everything you and Grandpa did - I know I don't show it.. but inside - I'm stoked..
So, let's hope this phase lasts a little while..

Hi ladies!
Back from Orlando and I need some SLEEP! I only got 1.5 hours last night before we had to leave for the airport and then I couldn't sleep on the plane. The kids were so excited to see me, it was pretty funny. I heard them come in from church so I hid and then ran up behind them and scared them. They loved it!
We had so much fun. We did 5 different parks in 2 days, it was CRAZY. I did hurt my foot a little from all the walking, but I won't complain.
Then yesterday we shopped ALL day and found some awesome deals. It was a great 4 days. Did I mention my eyes are burning and won't really focus? The joys of girls trips.
I just skimmed the last 5 days and sounds like all is well.
Rene, so happy you're going to SLC, BUT I'm SO mad I'm not there anymore to meet you.:cry: I don't think I could talk DH into a 3rd flight in 1 month.
Chris, awesome score for the game. When I was walking of the plane today, there was a Utes girls team getting on. I wanted to walk right back on the plane and go home.

yeah at some point you start feeling sorry for the team getting clobber. I would have felt bad for the Iowa State team except the stupid announcers were still prattling on about how fab the Big 12 conference was and all about the Cyclones. ummmmm could they not see the SCORE! I am quite ticked at the polls today, we whooped ISU and we dropped 1 slot. What the heck! I tell you the polls and the national title is such a RACKET. I even heard some analyst talking about how alabama DESERVED the right to defend their title! Whatever! They are defending it, EVERY WEEK! Hellllooooo that is why we need playoffs, let's get over this looking in a crystal ball and declaring the champion. and yes I am still peeved that we weren't even in the championship game and were the ONLY unbeaten team in 2008 AND we clobbered Alabama who everyone said we didn't even belong on the same field. The same sages who supposedly KNOW who the best is. bah! OK rant over :)

Thanks guys!!!! Actually I am kinda proud of some of the photos I got today. Thanks to my photog lessons, I am starting to be able to put some of the things together. When I first started taking photos with the slr, I would get so hung up on one thing that I would forget about other things. Today I was able to think about "is there hair in her face, shadow on her face, apeture, shutter speed, etc" and put things together. So yay!!!! And Emily really likes some of the photos too. I am waiting for her to email the #'s of the photos she wants me to spend time editing.

Today was the day I went with Lindsey to have her bridal portraits taken!!! i can't wait until we get to see them! Just watching the 2 photographers work and how they lit her face in the photos with the reflector thingie was cool to watch! From my vantage point, I think the photos are going to be AMAZING They took us to this secret place they know of in a town about 20 minutes from where I live. Most of the photos were taken on a road with lots of trees on each side of it that kind of made the road into a tunnel because they were so tall and almost met each other at the top across the road. You have to understand in West Texas where I am from, it's flat and there are not many trees like that. So it was really cool. They also did some photos near a cotton field that had some really tall cotton and then some grungy looking shots at these things that were similar to old railroad cars. Lindsey looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress, with her hair and makeup done, and her bouquet that was done for the shoot was so pretty. I finally got some decent photos of the dress (I think) so hopefully when I find the right kit, I can scrap one.
After we got back to the house, Lindsey told me and Gary that her fiance had interviewed for a job in San Antonio, and he thinks he has a good chance of getting it and would start Nov 1st. She said although she doesn't want to, she will move there after Christmas if Brad gets the job. It's really kinda sad because she definitely doesn't want to leave her family, and we don't want her to go, but they both feel like they can get better jobs in a big city. She started to cry because she doesn't want to have to move, especially before the wedding but she doesn't want to have a long distance engagement either. He is supposed to find out about the job on Friday. Gary & I kinda knew this was coming, but we didn't expect it so soon. Emily doesn't know about it yet. She will absolutely die if her sister moves away. :(

Well good news on a great location

I'm so excited.. my DGS already got a job.. it's a minimum wage job at the bowling alley - but a job. You got to start someplace right?
We worked with him since he got here last weekend on his funky walk - he was kind of bouncy - but he's doing better .. he needed to trim his finger nails, needed interview clothes, both Keith and I gave him pretend interviews - and if he gave "wrong answers" we gave him say more appropriate answers.. and, then he interviewed again..
Anyhow, our interview bootcamp paid off and DGS has a job!! Yay yippee!!

Yea, so glad he has a job!
So I'm not sure I like this 1/2 a month off school. It's just like getting use to school again and another couple weeks to get our schedule back down. They started again Tuesday and every night has been a NIGHTMARE! I hope we adjust a little quicker than the beginning of the year.
So I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but my mom does have cancer. But if the second side of the thyroid comes back negative, then they got it all. So we are waiting to see about that to see if she needs radiation or not. So all this cancer has me totally freaked out about a "skin tag" or whatever you call them, on my collar bone. I've had it forever, but just noticed that I think it looks different. Bot sure if it really does, but I don't want to take any chances. But my insurance is all messed up here so I have no idea what to do. A doctor visit might have to come out of my pocket.

Tonight I had my first and second grade music program. And let me tell you, it was quite interesting. I had a little second grade stripper. He was H-O-T HOT, and wanted to take his jacket off. He kept leaving his spot, coming up to me and asking if he could go talk to his mom. I'd send him back to his row and he'd go ask my pianist. She'd send him back and he would walk to the edge of the stage and pantomime to his mom. This went on for the entire second grade section of the program. It really was hysterical, but I think I have several more gray hairs.

Is her phone a new phone/account? I ask because we had this problem with my phone and DD's phone. When dd was in ICU I was so upset cause none of her friends were texting me/her phone to find out if she was dead or alive... I was really upset that her friends appeared to not have a care in the world about the accident. Turns out, they were texting, but dd's phone wasn't receiving! It took us all day on the phone with AT&T to get it worked out, it was on their end... computer glitchy stuff, when the account was activated. They have to put in a certain phone number thingy, and they had it all wrong in the system.

wow, Rene - will dad be able to make it down the aisle??
She is so beautiful!!!
Well at first she didn't want her dad to see her in her dress before the wedding day, but then the day she had the portraits done she decided she wanted to go ahead and get that moment out of the way so they both wouldn't get too emotional and mess up her makeup, so he saw her Wednesday after the photos. I almost cried myself a few times that day, seeing her in her dress.

I'm not texting because I'm a mom again, and I have no life..
What is photography, what is scrap booking I forgot..
All I do is get up, do laundry, cook, clean.. and, listen to his man child...
I can't remember my life before he moved in and that was only a week ago..
Oh, but it's my lucky day - bone density test.. yeah yippe, time to myself!!!!

Hmmmmm.......I need to introduce you to the crock pot. Throw something in there in the morning, eat it in the evening. Or the rice steamer....throw something in there two hours before mealtime....scrap for two hours....eat. Then you teach Keith how to use the washer and dryer....and we all know that you have a maid.....so that part about cleaning being time intensive is probably misleading......see, I have your life all planned out for you. Easy Peasy. :D
I had my bone density a few weeks ago.....osteoporosis....I have been on Boniva for years.....now they are thinking that maybe I need something IV to help with bone density. That is one of the perils of long term steroids...good thing I am tough.

Oh, the crock pot is my friend, I love it, I always have
and, I use my steamers until they hey run out of steam
but, Keith can not eat rice - ms patient remember... but plenty of veggies other things to steam.
It's the getting the man child to understand that he has to respect THIS house is the issue and, well we 'splained the facts to him yesterday...
and, my bone density test - I'm not worried - i've had 3 before this one - each time they call me back and say - how old are you exactly - and I tell them - and they say my bones are that of say a 30 year old.. and, I say thank you very much - one think I can thank genetics for - because I don't drink milk or take calcium anything...

Ive never heard that either Fran. I don't have ms patient though in the home, so Im not up on all of that stuff. I love rice!
My daughter was nominated for a leadership thingy at her college and invited to a fancyschmancy dinner with the head ppl of the university. She was excited that people notice her leadership abilities. But she was more excited when she was the chosen one at the dinner and received an award thingy and 100 bucks! She's a good kid, I hope and pray she stays on this path.......but I hope she learns to not be such a klutz. The other night I was in a dsp chat, Heidis I think it was, and I received a call from a paramedic (so anyone I was in conversation with and ditched out on you, I apologize but now ya know that I didn't go snoozin' during the convo... lol)... my daughter was unconscious from a head injury (again!!!!!!!!! she just had this happen a year ago and she almost died!) and was on her way to the ICU. Ughhhhh!!!!! Well, I am happy to report that she's OKAY, no brain swelling or cracks in the skull this time. But it was on the same side, same region as her first accident last year. Sooooo her doctor says we gonna be doing lots of follow ups to keep an eye on her. She's got slurred speech and she's wobbly on her feet right now. My poor princess :-(
To her defense, the first accident and this new one were not her fault. The first was a sports injury and this one was a dumb boy (a friend) coming up behind her to scare her AND "dip" her at the same time.... well, he scared her alright, she slipped (it was raining) and he wasn't prepared for that.... he dropped her on accident and her head hit the cement curbing. Ugh.
Anyways, all is okay in our world today... Im exhausted though from playing nurse! Thats hard work...

When I first got the call, I thought it was going to be a football accident... yep, that crazy kid of mine is playing intrammural (however thats spelled.. lol) football!! But no, instead it was a "your daughter is unconscious. She has had a fall, a fight with the concrete". LOL! At least this time it was only a couple days, last time she was in ICU for a longggg time. I do worry about her speech though, I hope the slurryness of it goes away. I worry because I have heard about post concussion something or another. Its where things don't heal quite right after too many head injuries.. and they end up worse than before the accident. She is going to return back to school for tonights class.

Laura, so glad she is ok. but still that's scary.
Ethan broke his finger opening and shutting a metal gate. AND he has to get it casted. I thought they just splinted fingers. Since my insurance is all messed up here I finally had a lady, that I was trying to make a doctors apt. with, make all the calls for me. She was SO nice and it took her 30 minutes and 6 calls later to call me back with an apt. So tomorrow we will be driving to the children's hospital for a cast. BUMMER!!!

No, our insurance is still out of state, but there is a "middle-man" insurance thing that we have to go through so she worked through them. I'm just hoping we don't have anymore problems until the first of the year, when we get new insurance. But at least we have a way to work around it, it's just pain in the butt!!

Its bad enough to lose a friend but then to have to see her lying there like that just adds to the pain. I think they could all use prayers at this point. I'm so sad for them.

I KNOW THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told you i hate that doctor!! And, her answer was for him to go to an ENT doctor.. ha.. What will an ENT do for him, tell him to see his ms doctor.. it would be a circle..
and, his MS doctor is afraid of ME... ha.. how could a doctor be afraid of a patient's wife.. I didn't go with Keith this time..
and, she (MS doctor) said, would you please ASK you wife if we could please lower this (particular) drug, I don't think you need this dosage any more - my answer is NO! you don't know what the FREAKING THING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT LADY! HE DOESN"T TAKE THAT DRUG FOR MS HE TAKES FOR A DIFFERENT REASON AND IF HE LOWERS THE DOSE I KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN AND I TOLD YOU WHAT WILL HAPPEN!!
And, then she (MS Doctor) said, would you tell you wife, I think we can switch you from this drug to this drug because it is cheaper - I said ok, to that because I did look it up - BUT I knew it would NOT BE CHEAPER _ DOES SHE KNOW OUR MEDICAL PLAN - NOPE --
it's not as good of a medication - AND IT COSTS THE SAME DARN AMOUNT - $90/90 days. So, next time back to the other medication..
ok, I'm done being a B@TCH!
Yes, PQ, I know he needs another MS Doctor, With Everything going on in our lives we had to have his med refills, and, we will be getting another ms doctor within the next 6 months ok..... And, I will go with my DH ok.. . Are you happy now.
ok, back to nice Debi... and, your regular program.. :love3::love3:

Please say a prayer for the family of a classmate/hallmate of my daughter. They lost their daughter last night in a shooting... on campus at the dorms. My daughter and her friends are really distraught about it, as they walked right upon it as they were walking home from the movies. Its bad enough to lose a friend but then to have to see her lying there like that just adds to the pain. I think they could all use prayers at this point. I'm so sad for them.
What a cruddy week... I just want it all over with. Lets get on with a new and refreshing week... a better one.
Oh my lordy..... so scary! Hope she's ok.

Correction... apparently the girl isn't a student/hallmate, she just practically lives there (with friends) and so all the kids are friends with her, as if she's a student/hallmate. I couldn't figure out why the news says she's not a student there, DD said "cause she's not, she's just treated like she is cause she's here allllllllllll the time". Eh, sad all the same!
A halloween party sponsored by a student organization got out of hand, by word of mouth off campus apparently, and it quickly grew to like 200 people. Police were called and as they were breaking up the crowd, fight and shots rang out.... and there was the girl lying in the parking lot. The shooters have not been caught as of yet.

It's the first shooting EVER in the history of the campus..and the campus has been around for just over 40 years now. It makes me so sad. It's a reminder that we just aren't really 100% safe anywhere, ever.

This was so sad and scary to read about this shooting on campus.
I have three grandchildren away at college in different parts of the country and don't like to see this happen anywhere. Will pray for the family that lost their daughter.

I'm sure pirates pray and they sing to right Maggie:
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort, we pilfer, we filch, and sack,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Maraud and embezzle, and even high-jack,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char, inflame and ignite,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We burn up the city, we're really a fright,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We're rascals, scoundrels, villans, and knaves,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We're devils and black sheep, really bad eggs,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We're beggars and blighters, ne'er-do-well cads,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Do you know how often I had to sing that song
with my DGS when then were little after we
visited disneyland????

Good morning Gundi Girls! And greetings from the crop in SLC!!! I've been having a blast!!! Yesterday Chris took me to a witch display to photograph, then we had lunch with her parents, then she taught me some photo editing at her house, then off to the photowalk where we saw Temple Square. Then we had dinner down at an outdoor shopping area called the Gateway.
I was hoping to get some scrapping done today at the crop, but Chris is being a big meanie and forcing me to scrap with HER tablet instead of my mouse, so I'm thinking I will just talk all day. She's quite bossy, that Chris.:rofl::rofl:

The only way you're getting my tablet, debilou, is if I bring it to you personally, so you can show me how to use it. I will THEN be returning home with it! :D
