Ok, my tip of the week.. to get the inside of your dishwasher spiffy clean and smelling great (for those of us who didn't buy one THIS WEEK!!!!)... you can put Kool aid - not the diet kind - regular Kool aid - it must be lemonaide flavor.. put the packet in the place where you soap goes. run your dishwasher on a normal wash.. and walla, a spiffy clean dishwasher.
ok google me if you don't believe me.. but if you just bought a dishwasher THIS week, you probably don't need to do this ... haha.

That's funny, because I used Tang (orange) and it worked perfectly when I had reddish rusty stains in the dishwasher. The next time I needed to do it, I used a stain-removing product made for the dishwasher. It was cheaper than Tang.

You know i used to get that at linens and things until they went out of business

but, Kool aid is cheaper than Tang

Super tips!

I'm buying a brand new dishwasher as soon as I can find one I like.... anyone got one they wanna brag about and share the maker, etc with me??!!

I need a new dishwasher too, so I'll be anxious to hear. My mom had a Kitchenaid that was wonderful, but when Carrie and Steve replaced the dw in their old house a couple of years ago, the Kitchenaid they got drove me crazy. The wash cycle took almost 2 hours. I thought that was excessive. The regular was cycle in my GE takes about 35 mins. The thing I dislike about my dw is how stinkin loud it is.

I buy a new house or get relocated before i have to buy one..
I don't think i've ever shopped for one.. yikes what will happen when i do???

we had to move 17 times in 29 years of marriage.. omg.. shop for a dishwasher,

tell me what you do for that.. i just know how to clean them.

 I would rather have to replace my dishwasher every year than have to move that many times. Yikes.

The only thing is..............we'll be sending the police on a wild good chase................because we'll them them the guy's name is "Bob", and of course that's wrong!..     On the other hand, ruling out all the "Bob's" would take out a large contingent of our society! :D

Good thing that message wasn't left on MY phone. Imagine what I would be thinking. (For those who don't know, my dh is BOB and he has an ex-wife).

PQ

Ok, while i was in the shower yesterday.. the phone rang, and, this man left a 7 minute message

only the names and places have been changed to protect the innocent..
also, I have a message on my phone, that you are calling the Anderson resident, please leave a message

so, obviously this man, was not paying any attention to that

so, here goes the message - i'll give you the brief version

ok, Bob, i have the photos you requested.. and, i know the perp.
it's not the current wife, it's the ex wife ok

i'll be out of touch this evening - but i'll be at the Anytown, USA. DA's office
tomorrow morning at 7 a.m so we can file the charges as you requested
with all the proof that you need.
I have the entire packet ready to file
I will be in my office - at 6:15 if you want to meet early to go over the photos and
the other stuff i found..
other wise, i'll just meet you at the DA's office.. at 7.
See you there Bob.. have a nice evening..

hmm.

So, Keith walks in the door.. and, I say ok, Bob.. hmm, i have some questions for you
did you think it was the current wife or the ex wife.. Bob.. and, why did you hire a private investigator - BOB???
and, what charges exactly are you filing (in this state we have never lived in). BOB?

And, Keith is looking at me, like I lost me head

so, I put the phone on speaker - and, let him listen to the message, Bob... and, he's was like woah... ok,... really you know that's not for me right..

haha.. had his scared for a second - of course it's not my husband..

But, poor Bob who didn't get the message, isn't going to the DA's office.. and, the Private eye. is going to be pretty upset that bob isn't waiting for him at 7 a.m sharp.

haha..
weird message..

ok, if something weird happens to me, but this dude bob.. you heard it from me first ok

That is so funny.........Glad that you told me earlier that Keith's alias is Bob, or I would not have understood what was going on......:D

I'd love to know.. but it sure does get to Keith, when I say Bob.. if that is your real name Bob. when are you going to file the charges, BOB???

I have to stop today.. think he's a little sick of me..

Oh, if you want the real story, i'll email you the phone number of the PI.. i don't have Bob's number - since, he called to talk to Bob.. and, obviously it wasn't my number...

You can talk to him about the case.. i'm sure the private eye would just love all of this info back... just let me know if you want to talk to him ok

But, the good news is - Keith said - could I please take you out for a date today.. maybe movies and a nice dinner.. hmm... maybe i can use this Bob story more often.. hehe

Hehe....my anniversary is Monday and we are taking the kids to the AGDS. The youngest has a birthday coming soon and she wants that doll for her gift. It will be fun (but not romantic). However, we will be going to see Wicked (without the kids) after my program is done. That is our anniversary gift to each other. It just is not happening on our anniversary.

Next week, they are closing down the route I usually travel to get to work. I'm now looking at the possibility of my 30 minute drive taking 90 minutes next week. The transportation site is quite vague about exactly what portions of the route are closed and if there are any decent detours. So, I guess I will leave super early on Tuesday and find out.

LOL easy for you to say when you don't go from blistering heat to arctic temperatures all in a week. Seriously last week we had the a/c on, this week it SNOWED up in the mountains and my house was down in the low 60s yesterday so I turned the heater on. Where is my autumn?!!

I love it when my house is in the low 60s because I actually get to wear winter clothes and drink hot tea to keep warm.

Maggie - My dd went to see Wicked a couple of weeks ago for the second time. She saw it a couple of years ago (maybe not quite that long) and wanted to see it again.

Move to Texas... won't be wearing slippers for quite a while

Oh, what a day

Put my Lemonade Kool aide in my dishwasher - it's spiffy clean - smells perfect

then - ok, this was so hard - cleaned my oven - you have to press - 2 buttons
clean oven - start..

then when it was done - you have to wipe it out with a damp cloth.. woah, I'm almost exhausted from that

Then i took the grate from my exhaust fan - and, soaked it in hot soapy water - swished it around.. .and, then - rinsed - and, put back in place

my gosh.. this much cleaning in one day...

i'm exhausted....

What a busy day I've had..

68 is GREAT! :) I used to keep my classroom at 68 or 67. Sadly, my new one doesn't have AC (doesn't really need it except for a few days) so I can't keep my arctic temps going.

Brrr!! But that will only be sporadic for about the next two weeks or so. Once Halloween comes, the heater will be on non stop....

I always said that I love the cold and the rain...but then I experienced a few places that were actually COLD (not California coast "cold"). I think I like cool! :) Moderate. I can't imagine getting kids all bundled up to go out in the snow. A jacket and sneakers are hard enough! :)

And I thought it was only fake "TV schools" that had indoor hallways (where the rooms are all in one building and on different floors). All the schools I have ever seen in real life have outdoor hallways (I'm sure there are plenty in CA that are in a central building...I've just not seen them!). I was suprised years ago to learn that those "TV schools" exist! Like in places where it is too cold and wet to walk from building to building.

Ohhh - all this weather talk brings a question to mind.

How did you all end up living where you are (especially if you aren't fond of the weather)?

I grew up in Northern/Central California...went to SoCal for school...one thing or another kept me down there for many years...now I'm finally back in NorCal because of a job (and I wanted to come back!). So I don't have a very exciting "here's how I ended up in _____" story. (But one of the many reasons I wanted to come back to NorCal is because I like the cooler temps, the fog, and having more than a few days of rain a year.)

Too funny, especially since I had the opposite reaction when I read Twilight. I wondered who would make a bunch of buildings that only held a class or two and then have all this open space that would make it easy for kids to cut class. Especially in a local that rained that much!!:rofl:

We had been living in Southern California for years - the traffic was horrible and the children came home from school discussing what the gang color were....we decided to move.

We lived in Iowa for ten years and DH's job had gotten WAY out of control. We LOVED everything about Iowa except DH's job. DH was rarely home, and when he was home it was usually during the wee hours while everyone was asleep.

One afternoon DH surprised us and came home during the afternoon hours. DH and I were in the kitchen fixing supper and chatting when Erin, a high school senior, came in. Erin asked if she could go somewhere that night - DH told her no, she needed to stay home. Erin did not miss a beat - she turned and looked at me and said, "So, can I go?" I said to DH, "You are here so rarely, you have no credibility or authority."

DH agreed with my assessment, but I was SHOCKED when he walked over to the phone, called the hospital, and said, "This is Dr. C. I am calling to give my 90 day notice. I quit."

YOU QUIT??????????

We were in the middle of the school year, Erin was a senior, Andrew was in grade school, Bia was in preschool, and Ryan was at a college that was less than 5 miles from our house. We needed to sell the house, find a job, pack the house, and figure out what to do with Erin.

We left 90 days later and we ended up in Montana. Now we have been here for eleven years and we are going to die here because I am never packing another box.

And I've never seen a school in our region that did not have inside hallways. Even elementary schools that sometimes have a door that leads to the outside for recess, still must have the means to move from room to room, the lunch room, library, office, gym, from the inside. I bet the office/company buildings in your area have interior hallways that connect offices and other areas.

Well, I was almost finished writing a nice long post about where I grew up and where I live now and the places in between. Sadly, we lost power and I lost it all. Bottom line is that I live no more than 30 miles from where I was born. Even so, Bob considers me an out-of-towner because he was born and raised in the small town of West Chester, and we live in the suburban area outside of town. Maybe I'll finish my story tomorrow....

Oh my gosh that is funny! I love aha moments (or "what the heck?!" moments!) that like. I never thought of it being related to kids cutting class. That's just the way it is...but I do wonder if that makes it easier. Hmmm....

We had been living in Southern California for years - the traffic was horrible and the children came home from school discussing what the gang color were....we decided to move.

.......We left 90 days later and we ended up in Montana. Now we have been here for eleven years and we are going to die here because I am never packing another box.

AGREED about SoCal (though I never had any gang experience) and about packing another box. I think that is really cool that your DH did that. Sure - it through you all into a tailspin for a while, but at least he was willing to make a change...albeit abrupt! Did you appreciate it at the time (or even now, I should ask!) or was it just waaaaaay too stressful?

And I've never seen a school in our region that did not have inside hallways. HA HA HA! It is so funny how we think our "normal" is what it is like everywhere! And yep, we do have plenty of buildings with interior hallways - - I just hadn't experienced a school like that. I just thought they were special TV schools used to look cool and/or make filiming easier somehow. Although now that I think of it, we did have one building with interior hallways in high school. But it was one of 10 or so...and it had been one of those funky "open classroom buildings" that were popular (with little to no walls separate the rooms) so it was just weird anyway!

Stuff like this makes me wonder what other things I consider normal or abnormal that really aren't!

That was a fantastic life decision

We were in southern California.. for most of our married life.. but we knew Keith would have to work forever - but he could retire at 60 if we moved to Texas where I was born and raised.. so 8 years ago - we packed up and moved to Texas

the weather is not as good - but the life style is soo much better

People in Texas wave howdy - as you walk down the street- or you see them at the grocery store..
if you don't you are considered rude..

I like that.. if your neighbor needs something - they just drop on by..
and, vs. versa..

it's just so friendly here.. i love that.. If I need anything I can count on my friends, they can count on me.. (In California.. I didn't know my next door neighbors except maybe their names.. sometimes.. and, then you didn't have to bother to wave at them..).. we moved so much we never got close to any neighbors..

We got close to those we worked with - but we had to change jobs so often, even some of those friendships went by the wayside.

so, we love it in Texas..
it's just a nice place to live..
And no State Sales Tax
And, our property tax was frozen on the day we moved into our home.. how cool is that..
And, the cost of many things are much cheaper than in California..
so, we can live here much cheaper than in California.. and, be retired..

And, our property tax was frozen on the day we moved into our home.. how cool is that..
And, the cost of many things are much cheaper than in California..
so, we can live here much cheaper than in California.. and, be retired..

And here I figured you were a life-long Texan!

The very first thing I said to DH after he quit his job was, "God rewards those who put Him and family first. You have made a wise decision."

Then I wrote and posted prayers throughout the house....everytime we passed a note, we said the prayer.

Within 90 days we found a job, packed the house, sold our house, found a family for Erin to stay with until she graduated, and signed Andrew and Bia up for soccer and scouts in Montana so that they could immediately make new friends in our new city.

DH took a 40% cut in pay, put he also took a 40% cut in workload.

It is one of the smartest things anyone has ever done ever. That move saved our family.

I could give the long, patriotic, yet woe-is-me answer to how I ended up here in the high desert. But.... the simple, to the point answer is - the military sent us here.

Once DH retired from the Marine Corps a few years ago, for several reasons we decided to stay here - for now.

Our world had been turned upside down the day 9/11 happened. We needed a break from anything HUGE happening in our lives..... at least for a few years. So DH found a terrific job here and we made the final decision to stick it out here for awhile longer. Each of us needed that. We couldn't take anything more major happening for awhile. We were torn down and burnt out.

I have a funny story about "hills". A friend of mine from College was telling that a family friend, who is a pilot, was flying near MN and one of instruments went out so he made contact with a tower and they helped him determine where he was. He told them he just went over a hill. The person replied that hill you just went over is the highest point in MN.
I didn't mind the mountains when I was out at school in ID, but I did miss the greenery.

Me too! :D

[QUOTE=addielee;1016760]I hate when my house gets cold! 68F is too cold for me! I wear my slippers from now until about May and sleep with fleece sheets and electric mattress pad too!

We keep our house at 69° and I have a small ceramic electric heater beside my desk. We have had some really cool weather earlier this fall, but so far the lowest our house has gotten was 70½°. It hold heat well. :D The furnace has yet to be turned on; can't say the same for the little heater. :D

I am where I am due to a former DH. He moved me here, we split, he returned to where he came from and I stayed. Been here since Dec. of 1975, so apparently it suits me. :)

Me either and I never even thought about anything different. It's true that what you experience, you assume everyone does.

Not so, huh?

And here I was, commenting and catching up when all of a sudden this face pops out at me from cyber-space, spying!

Wuss........I have my thermostat set at 67F.

You are both wusses, ours is 64 day/night and 67 during shower times.

Now, I know I've not been around enough to qualify for crabbing rights, but I just need some place to get this out. So forgive me in advance as I do a little complaining.

DH was rear-ended this AM. The light turned yellow, he hit his brakes and the driver behind him hit the gas. Then, she took off while he called the police. I've been a bit worried about him all day even though he said he was alright. Well, now he's beginning to feel a bit sore so that means a trip to the Dr in the AM. So - we have a car with rear end damage, a hubby with possible whiplash, a whole lot of paperwork to fill out, and the other driver is in jail. Well, she will be arrested if it turns out DH is really hurt. The catch in this whole thing - after leaving the scene (which another driver had called with the license plate, thank the Lord) she called the cops herself and said my DH had "fled". As the cop was already on his way to meet hubby, he just sort of chuckled at her report. Oh, and she works at my husbands office: the Department of Public Safety (State Troopers). She could even end up loosing her job, all because she didn't stop. What a mess!

Me, I'm a wreck! After the first call telling me he was in the accident, DH was just too busy to even call and let me know they found her. I've sat here trying to ignore all the worry about how bad the car is, will he end up with whiplash, what's this going to do to our insurance if the other driver can't be held responsible and all those other stupid thoughts that go thru your mind at a time like this. Arrrrrgh!!!!!!

OK, thanks for the ears. Sure hope you are all well.

So do you want to hear about my day?

It was a psycho day.....

I don't know why, but I REALLY did not want to go to the hospital this morning.....
When I got there, I pulled into the parking space, turned the car off, let out a slow deep breath.....and every time I would try to get out of the car, I would start sobbing. I just came unglued..........

Then I got a text from Debilou....and immediately after Debilou's text I got a text from DH....but I thought that the second text was Debilou sending another text....I did not realize that it was DH.....

So I started pouring my heart out to the person who I THOUGHT was Debilou.....I was crying and sobbing and saying that I could not go into the hospital and get the infusion of Rat Juice....

I had been sobbing and whining for a full 10 minutes when I realized that I was talking to DH, NOT Debilou!!!! I put forth a tremendous amount of effort every single day to make my family think that I am strong and fearless.....not a slobbering, whining wuss.......I was mortified.......

Fifteen minutes later, when I was finally cried out and somewhat composed, (I looked AWFUL) I went inside. (DH kept calling me, but I kept hitting the ignore button on the phone. I still cannot believe I did all of that whining in front of him). My head hurt so badly I thought that it might rupture, but I trudged on up to the Infusion Center on the fourth floor........

When I got upstairs my blood pressure was 200/88..........so I guess I had worked my way into quite the tizzy............

And now that it is all over....I am wondering what all the hoopla was about.....I still don't know what got into me, but it certainly was exhausting. I feel like I have been digging ditches nonstop for about a week.

So here is one part of this saga that I think is really funny........after all that sobbing I was really worried about how awful I looked.......BUT THINK ABOUT IT.....I was on my way upstairs to join a bunch of bald-headed men and women getting chemo....heck, those folks don't even have any eyebrows.....and I worried about how I looked. No matter what I did, I was going to look better than that crowd. LOL. What a Wack-o day.

Which is easy because I keep it up pretty well. But I moved everything around, bleached the shelves, mopped floors, washed the walls, etc etc.... ahhhhhhhhhhh my pantry is so perty now :-)

I have been working sooooo much lately, but since it is short term I am not getting rid of any of my other responsibilities so that is why I have been scarce. Not sure if I already told you that or not, but just in case you were wondering. :) Did I tell y'all about our "temple tour"? We are trying to go to all of the temples in Utah (currently there are 13) and we are doing #12 tomorrow! So excited! This is one I have never even seen, so that will be fun!

Actually for next year, we are talking about branching out to surrounding states, so how far is Billings from SLC? We are driving to Monticello tomorrow which is 5 hours away, 1-2 hours doing temple work, then 5 hours home. Can anyone say LOOOOOOOONG day?! :)

Oh yeah....and all that whining paid off........I just got a dozen roses from DH. Heck, maybe I need to quit being so stoic.

OMG, I know I'm late catching up here, but your post really made me cry. I suppose it was easy since I've been crying a lot this evening. But you first......

I totally understand how you could fall apart like, especially if you have been holding it in from the family. You can't always be the strong one. Sometimes it's helpful to everyone to let them see it's okay to have those breakdown moments. For that reason, I'm glad you did.

I also agree that those crying jags are so exhausting and really take a toll on you. Puffy eyes andpuffy face are not very attractive are they. Sending big hugs and kisses too my friend!:love3::hug::love3::hug::love3::hug:

Texting? My phone has no texter, it only has a talker. It has no texter-reader either. It only has a listener. It also doesn't help that I never turn it on. I doubt it's even charged. That's bad isn't it.

So my bad day.....

My brother called to tell me he was talking to my Dad, (my mom and dad are in a beautiful nursing home) who now says that giving me power of attorney was the worst thing he's ever done. He's angry about all of their "stuff" I got rid of and that I won't let Mom have her diamond rings because I want them. (the home doesn't want them to have valuables). He says he's going to contact a lawyer to get his POA back.

I spent much of the evening in tears over this. I haven't decided if I will mention it to my dad directly, since he would know my brother relayed the info to me. My Dad has blamed me for so many things it's so upsetting. He blames me that he and mom moved back to PA from Florida 8 years ago. (He believes they would both still be in good health down there). He blames me for the apartment they lived in, even though it was the one he chose at the time. (He called it a he11 hole. Believe me, it was NOT!!!). I'm sure he blames me that they are in the nursing home, even though HE chose where he wanted to go. (It's a gorgeous Masonic Care Center, located on a 1500 acre campus that is absolutely gorgeous. The facility accepts medicaid patients, and now that their savings have been exhausted, the facility accepts their social security checks as payment in full). Now he apparently blames me for getting rid of most of his old clothes (even though I bought him tons of new clothes). I got rid of most of his old clothes because they were much too big for him, and secondly, because they stunk so badly they were NOT salvagable. I would NOT even give them to the Salvation Army. They went into the trash. (He had not bathed in ages, and mom could no longer clean....or remember how to. I begged him to let me do their laundry, but he wouldn't hear of it, consequently, clothes were not laundered, nor was the bedding, yet he thought they were getting along just fine. Mom would have been humiliated if she knew how they were living, but her dementia prevented her from even realizing it). Even though a part of me knows that it's easier for him to direct his anger at ME rather than acknowledge his and mom's lives are coming to an end, it still has me so upset. Dad told my brother he can't sleep at night because he's upset that I got rid of all his "good" stuff. Can I just mention that he had over 100 pairs of shoes, and not a single pair cost more than 25 cents at the flea market! He took over 25 pair of shoes he took to the home, along with 2 suits which he will never wear. He was upset that he had no dress clothes. (No one wears dress clothes there, but I bought him 3 dress shirts, 3 ties, 3 dress sweaters, dress slacks, etc. I guarantee he will never wear them). He wanted to take his tattered old t-shirts with the beer logos on them, as well as the Mickey Mouse t-shirts. I put my foot down on those. He wanted a bag of old watches (none of which worked). I bought him a new watch, but he still wanted all the ones that did not work. The list goes on and on, but you get the idea. Knowing in my heart that I should not let this get to me, has not done me any good tonight........ I am feeling very sad.

Oh PQ, you are so strong, even when you feel your weakest. That vulnerability is a hard door to open but the healing it offers to the soul is profound!! God works in mysterious ways.....this communication error on your part is incredibly familiar to something in my life in 2006. I was going through a divorce, had pneumonia, all my "friends" were through my previous husbands as it was a new city and, well, let's just say I had hit bottom. I felt so alone and that was the worst feeling ever. Anyway, I had called some psychologists link (which was super hard in itself to ask for help) and was on my floor bawling my eyes out waiting for their call back. When the phone rang I assumed it was the psychologist but it was my Mother!! My Mother despises the phone and although we have a good relationship, she had maybe called me handful of times total in the previous years. It was a sign and I poured out my heart to her. (my mother is not a very soft, emotional person so I felt so vulnerable!). Anyway, long story short...it helped my Mither have some insight in what I was going through and the person that I am. Strength in numbers my friend...I'm so glad you got some flowers following and hope they brightened your day. Be well!!

PQ, my heart breaks for you and what you're going through all the time. I don't know how you do it, day in and day out, and you certainly were owed a *breakdown*. But, I know you'll climb back up (I've already seen it starting) and be your positive, cheerful self. Too bad we're all so far apart so that we cannot form a club to come and sit with you at each rat juice appointment. But know we care and love you.

Sandy, I knew this nursing home thing was a thorn in your parents side. I am so sad for you right now. The only solace is in knowing that we often attack the ones we love the most. Because they're there? Because we know they'll still love us in the end? Because they can? I don't know the answers, I just know there's a certain time when we all say/act/behave selfishly. The attacker usually goes on about their business and leaves the attackee with hurt feelings. (I'm pretty certain age diminishes some of our inhibitions. ) I would love to be able to give you copious hugs, but I'll have to settle for the cyber version.

Alison, who knew you were such a wordsmith! You post was incredibly insightful and meaningful, and beautifully said. So, hugs for you too.    And re: your 2006 event, I'm so happy that's all behind you. :love1: :love1: :love1::love1:

Laura was cleaning closets

I'm shipping stuff to Laura.. hahahaha

I've finally decided - ditch the paper scrap stuff

an unnamed friend is getting the bulk of my scrap stuff - she had received packages from me in the past - but this is a pretty big one.

and, Laura is getting a start on her Christmas shopping for her mom.. - several 12 x 12 in the wrap scrap book albums.. - 1 never used - but unwrapped - and, some of the extra page packs to use in the albums.. oh Laura backwards mom will be in paper scrap heaven.. - i think i'm sending her 4 albums..

The sad part is - I can't see where anything is missing from my office.. - i've sent to huge boxes to mail.. - but nothing looks missing - what the heck happened..

So, today, rearranging - to figure out what to do about that.. i want that paper scrap stuff gone gone..

and, i think i'll put some stuff on ebay.. hmm, what should i sell.. something of Keith's..

Well not soo happy today
Went to add a new contact on my iPad.
Put in the name phone address info. Went to click done

Apparently there is an option. That is delete your entire contact list. Oh no not just the one I just added. Oh everyone.

Shouldn't the stupid contact list on my iPad have said - stupid debikou are ya really sure you want to do this. Are you. Are you really sure. We don't have ctrl + z here (which they should!!). Nope. The whole list just gone. Gone. How the heck did that happen ? I went back to my now empty contact list. I don't see how I could have done it.

Any how No clue how many contacts I lost.

So sorry Laura. I'll have to drop box some photos later when I figure this out.

I keep mine in my new awesome beautiful dresser that came with my new awesome beautiful bedroom set! LOL! Seriously though, I have a small drawer in the dresser and there are like two of them... and they are abit useless to me for clothes, so I use one for my connectors for my ipad, camera, etc.... like chargers, whatever. So go look in your dresser. LOL!

We go to Cracker Barrel Restaurant on Thanksgiving and have pecan pancakes...... Now see, that would be YUMMY!!! Well, if you like pecan that is. LOL! But McD's for Thanksgiving dinner doesn't sound very yummy at all...well, unless they have Turkey McBurgers!

We have a new update. It will take an an hour. And most apps will be restored to their original settings. Does anyone see a black cloud over my head?
An hour? And I dont have a clue whT the heck the geek - y guy did when I bought it. Then I have to do the same for Mr. iPhone. 2 hours of this. 200 changes were made. Some are so very informative. Hmm
Bug fixes. Guess that's good
1500 new api's. Don't have a clue
Redesigned music app. Hmm was the old one a bad music app?
AirPlay mirroring. Hmm I've always always wanted that since i was a child!
Anyhow 200 of these cryptic fixes/enhancements that I had to get because I lost my stupid contact file

It's a beautiful morning. It's a beautiful day!!

Thanks for the warning! LOL! I shall have the kiddo update mine today when he gets home from school. He's my 'ipad keeper'... I only play on it, he keeps it up-to-date and charged for me. Such a good son!

I doubt the geek-y guys did anything on your ipad that you can't do once it's done updating, if need be. I set mine up while sitting in a hospital waiting room the night DH bought mine for me. I stopped by the parents house real quick to connect it to the PC (which apparently you have to do before you can use it...whatever...so stupid!) and then when I got to the hospital, I set it all up. I was on the hospital's guest server within seconds. You can doooo itttttt Debi! LOL!! Actually, I doubt the new IOS will even bother those type of settings.... all the other settings in your apps are things you would have done yourself. I think you'll be okay! Fingers crosssed!

I like the reminder list.
Rene will probaby have 10 of those filled out. Way cool
The news stand is cool. But it shows a bunch of free magazines. Ha. The app for the magazine is free. Oh did you want to read it too ? Well that's not free. Creeps
And finally we can download training videos. If you have them say in itunes They will show up in videos. Yay!!! - this was an ipad issue only. Not iphone
So some cool stuff.

So i have a calendar problem
Some one lost their i books
My neice lost her itunes library. Hmm seems to impact every a different way

and, I helped a mentee - with installing her PSE 10..

and, cooked dinner.. wow.. my day.

Really i had a bad migraine

Our fall consisted on one day.. one nice day to air out the house

we went from 110's F.. to about a week of 90's

then today it's 47 degrees.. Yesterday, the wind was blowing so hard and so cold it was like a mac truck was hitting the house - anyhow, didn't do well with my allergies..
so, I had a migraine, i just couldn't get under control..
but, all better today.. the wind died down..
it's still chilly (for us).. but without the wind blowing all that junk around.. i don't have that stupid headache and, i can think.

But, hey i was thinking better than some people i know.. who couldn't figure out the password to the ibooks store - (it was knock knock - who's there... hahahh.)

Hi girls! How is everyone? I've been busy with Mr. Jace and trying to clean everything up from the dust storm we had Monday. It was called a Haboob (didn't even know that word existed until then). It was about 6:00pm and I was rocking Jace in his room when within a matter of 5 seconds the room went from light to pitch black! It was the craziest thing! I didn't know if I should take Jace to the tornado closet or what! We're used to horrible dust storms here, but this was insane - it was a wall of dirt 8000 feet high that blew in at up to 60mph! Here's a link to a site that shows what it looked like:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/dust-storm-haboob-blasts-lubbock-texas-video/2011/10/18/gIQAY37NuL_blog.html

So that's how things are here in lovely west Texas! :D I haven't been scrapping much and I miss it. I'm going to try to scrap some pages this weekend. I just don't seem to have the energy after taking care of Jace about 12 hours a day. He is growing like a weed and changing every day. He's saying lots of different sounds and smiling all the time. He loves it when Nana reads books to him. He also is doing this thing I call "flirting" where he will turn his head to one side, smile real big at me, then close and open his eyes real slow at me. It kills me! He could have ANYTHING he wanted when he does that. :)

ahhhh so cute, Rene! but the dust storm so did not sound fun!

I am so excited!! We finished off our Utah temples goal today, with 2 1/2 months to spare. We wanted to go to all 13 during this year and went to Logan which was the last one today! They are currently building 3 more, but they won't be done this year, so we didn't count those, but we will plan on going after they are finished. :yahoo: I am coming down with a dang head cold, but I wasn't about to let that stop me. We missed the exit in Brigham City, so we took a different exit, but that made it so we ended up driving right by the Brigham City temple which is under construction, so after that we just said it was on purpose because we wanted to see the new temple.

Gosh, Rene! That sounds horrid. How does one clean up after such a thing?

Lots of dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping! :D it's not fun when we have a normal dust storm, but Gary grew up here and has never seen one of these Haboob things. We have a double front door and dirt gets in quite a bit when the wind is really blowing. Once during a normal dust storm, it was so bad I could literally write my name in the dust on the tile in our entryway. Now I try to put damp towels up next to the doors to catch it, but this hit so fast and was unpected that I didn't have time. Thankfully it helped some that it came in from the north and our doors face the west.

ReneT
10-21-2011, 09:01 PM

Cool for getting to all the temples. Ick for cleaning up sand! When I lived in Korea we got yellow sand from the Gobi desert every year but I can't imagine that kind of storm.

Not sure I'm going to be able to make it to any of the BCA chats. We have a very busy day Saturday, taking the tent trailer in for winterizing, visiting the corn maze, birthday party for a 5-year old and maybe a hockey game to finish the night. Good thing we have NOTHING planned for Sunday!

Oh my goodness, I would HATE that with a passion. Cleaning is definitely NOT my forte! :annoyed:

I'm here!

I was busy all day.... Kevin came home from boyscout camp VERY sick, so he stayed home from school. Then I had to make more doctor appointments for Jer. So I was playing nurse and patient's secretary, all day!

Oh.. and my new dishwasher came, and DH got it all installed for me (which I KNEW I didn't want to do because nothing ever goes smoothly you know.......and it's not pretty when the rough road starts... LOL!!) But....it is all installed now and I stayed up late to run a cycle to leak check, and it's nearly SILENT which I love because my kitchen is in the middle of the house. I no longer have to turn up the television, etc. Yay!! Now.... I haven't a clue how well it cleaned them because I checked for leaks and then headed to bed.... it's only 4:25am right now, so when it's a normal hour I will check (don't wanna wake the sick kiddo with noise).

Now.... where are my tacky messages... hmmmmm???? My inbox is EMPTY... completely. I was gone a whole day, how can my email box be EMPTY???!! Stupid verizon.... stupid verizon! stupid verizon!

I sent you at least 4 emails. All returned. I will try again today

But one was - did you see that you won one on the BCA challenges?? Yay you!! Get some rest.
I really wanted to know how J was doing

Hope Kevin feels better soon...........Andrew's name is Andrew Kevin. I love the name Kevin.

I know what you mean about your dishwasher....the one we had in Sioux City made such a racket, so when we had to buy a new one we really appreciated how quiet it was.......

I didn't participate in any BCA challenges... that I recall. Was I sleep scrappin' again?? LOL!

I love the name Kevin too PQ, his name is Kevin Michael.

He's home sick again. I went to get him up for school and he was already awake, and feeling awful.

Debi, I didn't get any emails at all from ya.

You don't text me every day either. I'm feeling a bit neglected.:cry: I was one of the original Gundi Girls, and now I've been replaced by people who are here all the time. :D. Maybe I should go hang out in the Granny Thread since I are one and as of yesterday am now closer to 50 than 40. How did that happen?:confused::help:

Christine, you still love me, right? ;)
