Not sure what you are getting into? Read all about Goodies right here. (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33373)

Featured item: On Safari (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=8665)
Challenge deadline: September 2, 2008 at midnight
Where to post: Goodies with Gundi Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=6258) Double duty layouts are ok.

Please be sure to post in THIS thread, as I will collect participants from here after the challenge is over.

Posting bonus:
Stencil Mask Alpha (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=8839) - Now available in the store.

Challenge idea: This kit was inspired by a fun thing my grandpa did with us, when we were small children. He would take us "on safari," in the backyard. We basically tromped around the backyard of his house, through the garden, which was raised so we had to go up steps etc. A very simple tradition, but one we loved and still have great memories of today. So for this week, I am giving you a challenge. Scrap a memory or tradition from your childhood, or pick one from your own family's traditions. YOU DO NOT NEED TO FOLLOW THIS SUGGESTION TO GET THE BONUS.

I bought this kit the first week, I've totally been waiting for this challenge! Now I just have to figure out what photo's to use.

There was a question about my alpha posting bonus over in the freebies gallery, so I am copying my answer here, in case anybody else was confused. :D

lol sorry didn't mean to confuse you, in this case this is just an alpha, but it is a negative space alpha, so the grungy stuff around is the actual alpha, but whatever background you stick it on, is what shows through the letter part. Hope that makes sense. The stencil part of the name comes from the type of letters I used, and the mask part comes from it looks like the process of masking in paper scrapping. What you would do in real life, take some alpha stickers and stick them down to your paper, then sponge/paint, ink, whatever over top, then when everything is all dry, you would remove the sticker and the negative space of the paint, etc would be the letter. KWIM? As far as masks go in your scrapbooking program, I just LOVE masks and use them all of the time in both scrapping and designing. There is a tutorial for beginners in the campus:

http://digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/ps_MaskPaintEP.shtml

That will help you understand them better. Trust me on this, masks are one of those things that at first seem really hard to get your brain around, but once you do, you will keep finding new, very cool ways to use them. :D

This is the first LO with this kit. It doesn't include the Tradition, but that's because I don't have the photos yet. My son is getting ready to lose his first tooth, and when he does I can do the Traditions LO. This LO is doing double duty with the DET Scraplift.

I had posted a layout using this kit last week.. ( I was like a shopping maniac when Chris' kits hit the store). I'm posting the link here, but becasue I didn't actually DO this for this challenge..
.http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/data/500/thumbs/A-PEACEFUL-MOMENT.jpg (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=274785&ppuser=74339)
A PEACEFUL MOMENT (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=274785&ppuser=74339)

So, I made another one, specifically for this challenge, using the kit for which I actually had a photo that went with it !!! How rarely that happens for me ! this is pretty funky looking thing in the thumbnail !!! I promise it looks quite different full size ! Actually, the thumbnail looks pretty awful IMHO.
